I really hope you don't leave Eretz Yisrael.

Alex, We are not on the same page here, I see. So, I will not try to convince you otherwise. Glad that at least you are in Israel, and thus IMO, have the right to complain. Jews outside of Israel do not.

You are right in your criticisms of the Israeli gov't. You are right that Jews from some democratic countries have knowledge and experience that other Jews (Russians, Yemenites, etc.) do not.

Being kicked out of our homeland was a punishment. However, the knowledge and wisdom we gathered while in exile should be extremely useful. We all brought different kinds of experience with us. We need to listen to the Russians how to deal with oppressive governments, the Yemenites how to truly understand Arab culture, and to Anglos as to how to run a business and to how run a truly fair and balanced government.

I am not certain 100% of your perspective, but I personally pray three times a day for the return of the monarchy, and not fixing this deMOCKracy.

Eretz Yisrael is the Land where Jews are supposed to be ideally. There is more than one way to have influence here besides protests. We learned over 20 years when 1/2 million Jews gathered at the Supreme Court that protests do not work (like you said about contacting MK's). Eretz Yisrael is where Jews are supposed to be investing their money and energy and passion, not the US or UK or elsewhere outside of the Land.

Chaim, I still want to believe that we can do some of the ground work before Mashiah arrives. That's what I thought Zionism was supposed to mean.

However, I am becoming increasingly pessimistic about that prospect. Still we are not exempt from continuing to try and to do the right things.Esser Agarothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12853681733864707489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32118121.post-68594571793322645312020-07-15T00:00:17.691+03:002020-07-15T00:00:17.691+03:00When? In the US one can communicate directly with members of the Houe and/or Senators. Wit Israel having Parliamentary Democracy as opposed to Represtative Democracy, this is not possible. Request assistance from an MK and he/she will either ignore you or inform you that the matter will be investigated, and nothing happens. This is simly because Government members are only accountable to their party leaders and not Israel's citizenry.
I do not expect Russians or Jews from Arab countries to know the difference. But, what about the 250,000 Anglos who live here? When will a good % of them gather outside the Knesset and in a civilized manner demand the ouster of prehistoric de mocracy and replace it with true democracy.
Alex Rose
AshkelonAlex Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01855117041580792048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32118121.post-66979967708810440372020-06-02T11:46:50.239+03:002020-06-02T11:46:50.239+03:00Very good post, Esser Agoroth; thank you.
I mysel...Very good post, Esser Agoroth; thank you.

I myself am struggling with this question, as it looks as though I am going to have to go on a Shlichut to the U.S.... and I really, really don't want to leave from here, but I have to! What to do? Whatever Hashem wants us to do, we do. If that is the case with me, who is to say it is not the case with countless others, who would love to be in Eretz Yisrael yet can't because of family obligations, relatives who really, really NEED them, and other such issues?

We need Hashem's help to fulfill our dream of living here, in the best Land in the world, in the Holy of Holies Land, in the sweet Land, in the happy Land despite the Uber Reshaim who are torturing holy Jews - look at Amiram ben Uliel - and I will leave out the most reviled Tzaddik in our days , yes, I said so, Tzaddik. And to live here with our complete families.

I like what you said about the fake conversions: what exactly where you referring to? Which rabbis?

DSDShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09994156495571982528noreply@blogger.com
