A Look At Israel's Neighbors: Cyprus

כ"ט לחודש הראון תשע"ג

Some remember our neighbor Cyprus as a highly unpleasant layover on the way to Israel, after surviving the horrors of the Holocaust.

Some see our neighbor Cyprus as a popular vacation destination, the perfect alternative to Greece and Turkey, whenever they remember that they hate Jews, in spite of the tourism money they bring to their respective countries.

Still others see Cyprus as justification for our hanging on to Yehudah and Shomron (Judea and Samaria). Either way you look at it, someone IS occupying part of Cyprus. On the contrary, Israel is simply taking what The Almighty promise it, and granted us another chance to hold onto it in 1948, and again in 1967.

However, very few in Israel appear to be terribly concerned, let alone talking about the current financial crisis in Cyprus. The Cypriots have got it worse than the Greeks, Spanish, or Portuguese ever did.

In other words, it's bad. The Banksters* took their money.

Not so coincidentally, and not so funny, this ad popped up in my Google Ads the other day. Anyway, want to go to Cyprus?

No thanks.

I have heard that the Cypriots are not armed. But, if they were, then there already would have been quite a few deaths from riots and targeted assassinations.

So, everyone thinks it couldn't happen to us? Not in Israel, with its propped-up illusion of an economy?

Time to start storing water, everyone. Lifta is just too far away to be schlepping re-filled bottles of water back home.

Call me crazy, but I said its high time I got prepared. What about you?
