"סיכום?" אתם שואלים. ״אבל פרשת הבחירות הזאת עוד לא הסתיימה!״

המטרות של הבחירות האלה היו רק הסחת דעת אחת גדולה למשיך להחזיק אותנו תחת השליטה, ברדום, ובמצב התמידי שלנו של חוסר אונים נרכש, בין היתר.

כדי להסתיר את ענייני כתב האישום של נתניהו? בוודאי. לפחות, הבעיות המשפטיות של רה״מ נתניהו ו / או תאוות הבצע שלו הפכו להיות מטרד למטפלים שלו מהעולם המערב.

טראמפ אומר שהוא לא דיבר עם נתניהו: "היחסים בינינו הם עם ישראל (Times of Israel)

הכותרות אלה בתקשורת החדשות תומכות בהשערה זו. אבל יש גם עוד סוגיות דחופות ועמוקות יותר מאלה.

אביגדור ליברמן השונא חרדים מופיע באותה תקשורת חדשות כאיש "משח המלך״ כלומר ראש הממשלה.

אולי ליברמן כן איש כזה בעיקרון. אבל יש גם אפשרות שהפעולות שלו יפגעו בעצמו בסוף מפני שארה"ב ואירופה מחזקות את הכוח האמיתי בישראל. הסוגיות המשפטיות של ביבי הפכו להיות לצנין (קוץ) בצד של ארה"ב. בגלל זה נתניהו עלול להיות מאוים להתגבש או ארה״ב תשליך אותו, אם הוא כבר לא הושלך.

שאלו את נשיא ארה״ב טראמפ למה הוא לא התקשר לנתניהו כבר שלושה ימים לאחר הבחירות, וגם אם הוא עדיין עומד איתו. התגובה של טראמפ? שהוא עומד עם ישראל (כלומר, לאו דווקא נתניהו).

ועכשיו נתניהו החזיר את המנדט לנשיא שיעביר אותו לגנץ, ואמר "לא הצלחתי להרכיב ממשלה.

אני עדיין חושב שבסופו של דבר נתניהו וגנץ יסכימו להכנס לממשלת אחדות. אבל כדי לעשות דבר כזה, נתניהו יצטרך להתפשר על רוב ההבטחות שלו. ואז הוא יוכל להרים את הידיים שלו ולהגיד שהוא השתדל כפי יכולתו לשמור על ההבטחות האלה, אבל אם אנחנו באמת לא רוצים (פירוש: הוא לא רוצה) לאבד את כל השליטה אז אין לו ברירה אלא להתפשר.

אבל, האם יישאר כראש ממשלה בכל סיבוב מנהיגותי?

אתם באמת חושבים שזה משנה?

"Wrap-up? But, this chapter in Israeli election history isn't over yet!" You declare.

So, what.

These elections were just one big distraction two continue keeping us under control, numbed out, and in our perpetual state of learned helplessness, among other things.

And to keep Netanyahu's indictment under raps? Obviously. If nothing else, Netanyahu's legal troubles and/or greed have become a nuisance for his Western handlers.

These headlines in the mainstream news media pretty much support this notion. But there are more pressing, much deeper issues at play here.

Haredi-hating Avigdor Lieberman has been brought up often enough in the same mainstream news media as Israel's potential "king-maker."

Maybe. But it might backfire on himself since the US and Europe wield the real power in Israel. Netanyahu's legal issues have become an inconvenience, not an outright thorn in the side of the U. S., so Netanyahu might be threatened to shape up or ship out, if he already hasn't been dumped.

Trump was asked about not calling Netanyahu after three days after the elections, asking if he still stood with Netanyahu. Trump's response? Something like he stood with Israel, in other words, not necessarily Netanyahu.

Now it seems Netanyahu has given back his mandate to Israeli President Rivlin, saying that he did not succeed in forming a government.

My guess? Netanyahu and Gantz will eventually come to terms, and form a unity government. In order to do that, Netanyahu will have to compromise away most all of his promises to voters. Then he will be able to throw up his arms, and say that he tried his best to fulfill those promises, but had no choice, unless we (translation: he) wanted to lose all control and be forced into yet another round of elections.

But, will he remain as prime minister in any leadership rotation?
