מאז האסון ל"ג בעומר תשפ״א/2021, בזמן ​​הנחיות שליטת הקורונה, נהרגו 45 גברים ונערים ועוד 150 נפגעו. ואז מיד התחילו הטלת האשמות ואף אחד לא היה מרוצה מהחקירה.

עדות הראייה שסופקה לי הייתה שהמשטרה אשמה לחלוטין בהכוונתה לתנועת הולכי רגל, בין היתר טעויות קטלניות אחרות.

בכל שנה רצופה מאז האסון, לא היו בטוחים אם ירשו אירועים כלשהם להתקיים בקברו של רבי שמעון בר יוחאי [הרשב״י] במירון.

השנה...

המשטרה דרשה מהוועדה לפעול באופן מיידי להסרת כל החסמים המונעים את כניסת אנשי המקצוע למתחם, והבהירה כי כל עיכוב נוסף מסכן את עצם קיום האירוע.

ועדת החמישה אחראית הנהלת קבר הרשב״י דורשת...

הסדרה מלאה של אחריות, ביטוח והתחייבות לנזקים - כפי שמתחייב וכפי שסוכם מראש בין הצדדים.

בכל שנה, מאימים, אולי לבטל את האירוע הזה כעונש על הקהילות החרדיות - המשתתפות העיקריות - על כך שלא מתגייסים לצה"ל, כמעט כמו קבוצות אחרות בישראל.

כמובן, לאחרונה חשפו לנו שלא מקפידים באליטה החילונית בהתחמקות מגיוס.

כנראה הם מאפשרים לאירוע השנתי להתקיים השנה, בין אם לטובת תעשיית התיירות המקומית, כדי שרואים אותם בהכרת טובה, או יודעים שהאירוע יבוטל בכל מקרה, עקב חידוש טילים מהצפון והמזרח.

Since the tragedy of Lag b'Omer, 2021, while Israel was still under COVID guidelines control, 45 men and boys were killed and 150 individuals were injured. The blame game immediately followed. No one was satisfied completely with the investigation into what happened.

The eyewitness account provided to me was that the police was entirely to blame in its direction of foot traffic, among other fatal mistakes.

In each successive year, ithas been touch and go, as to whether any events would be allowed to take place at the gravesite of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron.

This year...

The police demanded that the committee act immediately to remove all barriers preventing professionals from entering the complex, and made it clear that any further delay jeopardizes the very existence of the event.

The Committee of Five, responsible for managing Rashb"i's Tomb, demanded...

...full regulation of liability, insurance, and liability for damages - as required and as agreed in advance between the parties.

Every year, the holding of this event is threaten, quite possible as punishment of the Haredi (ultra-orthodox) communities -- the main participants -- for not enlisting in the IDF, nearly as much as other groups in Israel.

Of course, recently we learned that the secular elite have been let off the hook for their draft-dodging.

My guess is that they are allowing the annual event to take place this year, either for the sake of the local tourist industry, optics, or, who knows, maybe someone knows it will be cancelled anyway, due to a resumption of missiles from the north and east.
