Haveil Havalim #323 - The Mid-Summer Edition

Last week both To Kiss A Mezuzah and I both received some pretty old submissions to Haveil Havalim, which resulted in our joint editions #322 and #322b. This appeared to be to an Internet burp or hiccup stemming from Blog Carnival's recent problems with its on-line submission systems. Apparently, Internet malfunctions do not discriminate based on religious or political ideology or gender.

Food for thought....

According our Fearless Leader Jack, Blog Carnival claims that the problems have been cleared up. How that explains how I received several submissions this week, I don't know. At least they were current submissions. I guess the burgeoning artificial intelligence within the Blog Carnival website decided that I would be this week's host, whether I was signed up or not. (Who recognizes the photo?)

That'll teach me.

Founded by Soccer Dad, Haveil Havalim is a carnival of Jewish blogs -- a weekly collection of Jewish & Israeli blog highlights, tidbits and points of interest collected from blogs all around the world. It's hosted by different bloggers each week and coordinated by Jack. The term 'Haveil Havalim,' which means"Vanity of Vanities," is from Qoheleth, (Ecclesiastes) which was written by King Solomon. King Solomon built the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and later on got all bogged down in materialism and other 'excesses' and realized that it was nothing but 'hevel,' or in English, 'vanity.'
