Israel's Left Is A Bunch Of Sore Losers, Or Are They?

Arabs and Jews
Only together will we win.

Maariv: Demonstrations in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem: "We call on Jews and Arabs to build a civic partnership" (translated)
October 28, 2026 – Maariv Online

Demonstrations are currently taking place at HaMesila Park in Tel Aviv, UNESCO Square in Haifa, and Paris Square in Jerusalem. These demonstrations are a grassroots initiative calling for the construction of a Jewish-Arab civic partnership and urging elected officials to take action to bring about change.

Adi Danino, 26, one of the organizers, stated: "We are calling on Jews and Arabs to come out together into the public sphere and build a civic partnership. We want to raise a joint voice and call upon our elected officials to take responsibility and work toward change."
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Tonight when I got stuck in a bus home behind a surprise protest march, I thought it was just sour grapes from a pissed off left, that cannot fathom how the majority of Jews voted for right-wing, religious, or even right-leaning parties.

But, then I saw one of the posters they were carrying, the purple one above, Arabs and Jews,
Only together will we win
, as well as a black one, Refuse the occupation.

The transgender flag was also prominent, although I have absolutely no idea what that has to do with Arabs and Jews together. One point of the Arabs and Jews poster is to remind newly elected officials that one of the only ways to form a government is with the Arab parties.

I wish I could say that the Left has totally lost it. But they were born lost. Their parents and grandparents did the very same thing in 1948, begging Arabs not to leave, after Israel's War of Independence.

Then I received the link to a post from my friend Destination Green Hill. The post is from Shaul Reznik, (translated from Russian). It concerns the voting pattern of the residents of Kibbutz Be'eri.
The smart learn from the mistakes of others, the less smart - from their own, all the rest belong to the Israeli left. The expression of the residents of the kibbutz Be'eri (not all counted): four years ago - 35% for "Aveda", 16% for "Meretz"; now - 44% for "Democrats" (i.e. "Aveda" + "Meretz"), 25% for "Yashar". The NDI has grown to 7%, but it's not a fact that it's because of the declared right-wingness of the leader, rather, it's because of anti-religiosity.
Kibbutz Be'eri lies about three miles east of Gaza. On October 7, it was infiltrated by hundreds of Arabs, who massacred 101 Israeli civilians and 31 security personnel. Don't forget that self-proclaim civilians made part of these terrorist murderers.

I get the desire for an inquiry into the failures pre-October 7th, and thus the votes for Eisenkot's "Yashar." But to vote yet again for leftist parties? How does that make any sense? Eisenkot has said repeatedly that maintaining a strong security for Israel is on his agenda, along with his push for an October 7th inquiry. So, why not vote for him?

Some still claim that the Left still doesn't get it, and it will only take a few more missiles flying over Tel Aviv to convince them.

But even that just happened over the past three years. And yet the response of the is that everything is the fault of the Jews who insist on living in a Jewish country, despite the fact that the international community will not accept this.

The Left also knows, deep down inside -- don't they? -- that the international community will not even accept the only democracy in the Middle East, even it did not refer to itself as a Jewish State.

Currently, we are a state which happens to have a majority of Jews in it. We accept non-Jews into it left and right: African "refugees," foreign workers with anchor babies, and all those from former Soviet Union member states, all with at least one Jewish grandparent... maybe. Then of course there are all of the "refugees" from the Ukraine, at least some of whom live in beach apartments in Nahariya I could only ever dream of renting.

This is all due to the Left, and advanced by its precious Israeli Supreme Court.

Civil marriage, which is just code for intermarriage, erasing Shabbat and dietary laws, and worse yet, calling things Shabbat and kosher, when they are actually not, are all on their agenda.

The truth is that the Left does get it. They get it perfectly. They know exactly what they are doing, just like the trouble making, Erev Rav, false converts who came out of Egypt with the Israelites (Ex. 12:38), knew exactly what they were doing.

The Left does not want there to be a Jewish state. Most would not even tolerate a few Jewish sprinkles on top of their Western cultural sundae.

The Left does not want there to be a Jewish People. They want us to assimilate into a globalist society.

They want us to disappear.

A Reminder Not To Vote For Naftali Bennett And The Assimilation Of The Jewish People

Beyachad (Together) under the leadership of Bennett

With each incarnation of political party, Bennett's kippah shrinks.

Who will Itamar vote for in the upcoming elections? (YNET with Shetach100 - translated)
Despite his disappointment with the coalition, Itamar emphasizes that his political stances have not fundamentally changed. He remains opposed to the establishment of a Palestinian state, yet he believes that even within the opposition, there are parties capable of representing his worldview. "When I look at the alternative—it’s a great alternative," he says. "I don’t want a Palestinian state to be established. When I vote for the opposition, I feel quite confident that this won’t happen."

He summarizes the shift in his perspective by expressing a desire to ensure that those who do not share his worldview still feel a sense of belonging within the state—a sentiment stemming from the realization that the religious public may well become an increasingly large segment of Israeli society. "I understand that people like me—wearing a kippah—are increasingly becoming the majority in this country," he says. "And that is precisely why I want others to still feel comfortable here." "If I had to choose a Prime Minister, I would choose Bennett," he declares. "I don’t want a 'fully right-wing' government; I want us to continue living here together."
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
I think we need to remind Itamar Natan about Naftali Bennett. Please watch the video above by Rabbi David Bar-Hayim.

Itamar’s point—highlighted in red—illustrates the hypocrisy of the Left regarding democracy. They support election results when they get what they voted for; but when the majority—specifically, a majority wearing kippot—votes to form a right-wing government, they refuse to accept the outcome. Is that a logical way to think, or a delusional way to think?

Itamar himself has no ill intent; rather, he simply wants to ensure that the government does not ignore the minority. I believe this is a result of his education in the Israeli public school system.

I believe that any above average, high school senior, taking civics in the U. S. knows more about democracy than any 12th grader in Israel.

I agree that he should not have been haphazardly sent into battle. However, regarding enlistment, we know from a recent report that that the old narrative about avoiding enlistment does not hold water. More Haredim enlist than has been reported, and there are plenty of entitled leftists who receive exemptions. For some reason he does not know this, or has been prevented from knowing this. Nor has he apparently been taught of the importance of supporting at least a segment of Klal Yisrael to sit and learn.

Leftist leader Yair Golan's flip flops on whether to take Haredim into the IDF in the first place, notwithstanding, should anyone enlist in the IDF until the government can guarantee that its military decisions will be based on the needs of the Jewish People, and not on the wishes and expectations of the international community goyim (non-Jewish nations)?

I agree that lumping the left together into the category of evil is also not productive. However, categorizing the direction of their leadership into this category I have no problem calling it evil, whether it is intentionally evil or not. Evil if any of them truly falls into the category of tinoq shenishba -- 'like a captured child,' and thus one not educated to know better -- it is still forbidden to stand idly by and do nothing in response to the damage being done.

I would also agree that a path toward unity is a positive step. However the target for action should be to wake people up to the government's 'divide and conquer' approach -- or rather the approach of those who are truly in charge of the country. The demonization of certain groups of Jews, and the maintaining of conflicts among them, particularly between groups of Torah-observant Jews, is preventing us from any positive progress.

Surely Itamar can see the conflicts between Torah and the state's quasi-democracy. Can't he?

Surely Itamar can see how the left is trying to reduce the influence of Jews through the influx of goyim into the country, whether "refugees" or foreign workers. Surely he can see that this idea of letting so-called refugees into our country as an act of kindness is just a ploy.

Saudi Arabia would never even entertain such a thought. Europe has not stepped up to take in their fellow Europeans -- the Ukrainians. Why should we?

This is the perfect example of the confusion between Western concepts and Torah.

We can thank the Israeli public, 'religious' education for this confusion.
"When I look at the alternative—it’s a great alternative,"
Why? Because it looks more like Western culture that you have been trained to believe is superior to our own? Or that Western culture is our own?
"I don’t want a Palestinian state to be established. When I vote for the opposition, I feel quite confident that this won’t happen."
Yeah. Good luck with that.

We have been saying that for years. And yet, the number of Arab MKs has been increasing right under our noises. The Supreme court that the Left insists on protecting refuses to disqualify Mansour Abbas's party, in spite of his lack of loyalty to the State of Israel, and his desire for a Palestinian state. Meanwhile, Jews who believe in HaShem and His Torah as being on a higher level than the State are the ones risking disqualification.

Israel's Left Still Doesn't Get It, Nor Wants To

YNET Opinion: Israel’s religious turn risks transforming the conflict into a religious war
Opinion: Israel has long sought to prevent its conflicts with its enemies from taking on a religious dimension; But the growing role of religious ideology in policy toward the Palestinians is further reducing the chances of a solution

Dr. Michael Milshtein | October 04, 2026

For years, Israel hoped that its conflict with its enemies would have a national character: that it would be based as much as possible on a territorial dispute between peoples and as little as possible on ideology and religion, which would mean an all-out war with no prospect of a settlement.
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
It seems that this is yet another piece in which I will have to respond to it, paragraph by paragraph. However, you do not have the patience for that, here are the themes Milshtein covers, which I have already addressed in the past, along with relevant links. "...there is nothing new under the sun." (Eccl. 1:9) Click on the ones which interest you.
We have heard Milshtein's talking points before, and will probably hear them again. It is the same old argument for the need to fit into a Western-based globalist society, and the need to play by its rules.
The main challenge in this regard is fundamentalist Islam, which, based on divine command, prohibits recognition of Israel and permits, at most, a hudna — a temporary truce that can be broken, as happened in the October 7 attack. Dealing with non-Islamist actors has not been easy either, particularly when it comes to genuine acceptance of Israel's existence. But it has been proven that political agreements can be reached, some based on territorial compromise.
Well, Milshtein is right about one thing, Islam. But political agreements being reached on territorial compromise? Wrong. Whatever anti-Torah beliefs he has about giving up pieces of the Land of Israel, surely he must see that he making my argument for me.

Each agreement made with the Arabs is only a hudna in their eyes - a temporary truce that can be broken. Long-term, these agreements mean nothing to them.

Don't believe me? For the umpteenth time, I suggest that you see the dream maps of a Palestine hidden in plain site, within the emblems of, not only Hamas, but the Palestinian Authority's ruling Fatah Party. All of them want all of our Land, including Tel Aviv. Their end game is the destruction of Israel.

Maybe Milshtein believes that Arabs will eventually come around to the understanding of Western culture being superior to their own, and will "see the light."

But, what will actually happen, after attempting to dialogue with Arabs, over and over again, expecting different results, ie. insanity, the blindness of their pride will cause them to fall.
Recently, Israel's own conduct has contributed significantly to this longstanding challenge. Since October 7, religiously charged ideas have played an increasingly prominent role in its policies, particularly on the Palestinian issue. Such ideas have always existed, but they have never held such a dominant position as a national compass.

A turbulent reality, with no investigation of the failures or treatment of the collective trauma, has persisted for three years, providing fertile ground for embracing ideas once regarded as unrealistic and even delusional. Concepts and goals drawn from biblical times and associated with the religious Zionist movement are thus being injected into the life of a modern state, without any serious debate over what it means for the state to rely on the belief that we are living in an age of miracles and approaching redemption.
It seems that religious fervor to Milshtein is a result of searching for answers, a sense of helplessness and the desperate desire to be rescued by an outside force, and that this is the result of our collective trauma. Does he also think that pining for geulah (redemption) is a manifestation of our collective delusion.

Well, let me tell Milsthein something. This desire has existed for thousands of years
Our desire for redemption has been fulfilled twice. So, why not a third time? *I am attempting to use Western reasoning here, since I am guessing that Milshtein, regardless of his background, will not respond well to a Torah-based line of reasoning.

Crying out to HaShem to save us sounds very similar indeed to our cries out to Him from our enslavement in Egypt (Ex. 3:9). Time and time again, the Israeli government, whether left or right, has demonstrated its failure to protect us, instead kowtowing to the wishes of the international community goyim.

So, from a psychological perspective, it sounds quite healthy to break free from a strategy which has proven to be ineffective in the long-term. Instead of the insanity of repeating the same mistakes over again, expecting different results, we are searching for different approach.

But, Milshtein should not worry. The Left wing of the Erev Rav is putting up the same fight against Torah, as it has been since leaving Egypt.
To Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's past statements about the need to wipe out the Palestinian town of Huwara, establish a Joshua doctrine — under which there are no non-Jewish citizens with equal rights, only "gentiles" — regard Arab Israelis as "citizens for now" and rely on a "God willing" economy and Torah law as in the days of King David, have now been added a promise to fund the construction of a Jewish Temple, as well as telling the Saudis to go ride camels in the desert if they continue demanding negotiations with the Palestinians as a condition for normalization and telling Europe to go to hell over sanctions and criticism of Jewish violence in the West Bank.
OK. So Milshtein will never accept that these "settlers" -- with a nickname designed to separate them from mainstream, Israeli society -- are defending themselves, because the IDF is incapable or unwilling to do so sufficiently. We all get that. So, I will not even bother...

Does Milshtein view Smotrich's ideas from the Torah as primitive? Since they are not in line with Western ideals, they are inherently bad?

Whether Milshtein knows it or not, he is the perfect example of the subtle, and insidious, form of assimilation, the form of which most Jews are unaware.

I will not even get into how seeing the West as the ideal culture to strive for completely discounts the wisdom and culture brought by Jews to Israel from North Africa and the East.
The West Bank is a central arena in the "religionization" of Israeli policy, reflected in the sanctification of holding onto the territory under divine command and in the attitude toward Palestinians — non-Jews who are encouraged to leave, preferably "voluntarily." In the extraterritorial realm of the West Bank, norms are developing that are gradually spilling over into the rest of the country and affecting the circumstances and future of all Israelis. Daily life in the West Bank illustrates how the conflict is becoming fundamentally religious, as seen, for example, in the burning of mosques and churches and the deepening Israeli hold on numerous religious sites that are increasingly being accorded the status of existential assets for Israel.
Well, gee. I suppose you and your ilk should have annexed the West Bank long ago, huh? That way you could have had more control over its youths' education and ideological development. You only managed to tackle some of the youth -- the bored suburbanite youth -- most of whose parents cannot even answer their children's question, "Are we living on Jewish land or Arab land?"1. The answer "It's complicated" no longer cuts it.

We can see these young men and women waiting for tremps (rides) and buses to Tel-Aviv night clubs on Saturday nights, often after "suffering" through yet, another 'boring' Shabbat. So much for mamlakhti (State loyalist) religious education. Too many mixed messages, I suppose.

The Land of Israel is the homeland of the Jewish People, and no other. However which was you try to slice, this is Zionism.

Now that you have failed to control those who view Torah on a higher level as State law, including desperate threats of "re-education," and with a kippah slapped on it, no less, now what?

We have heard the fear mongering before, incitement against the Torah-observant, sometimes Haredim, sometimes [real] settlers, sometimes even against the "well behaved," fully indoctrinated, mamlakhti  "Zionists."

The growing role of religious ideology in policy toward the [Arabs identifying as] Palestinians not reducing the chances of a solution, but only reducing the chances of a solution that Milshtein wants. Thank God.

Either he believes in the importance of placating the so-called international community as strategy, or that it is incumbent upon the Jewish People to be integrated into a globalist society.

Does he realize that the end game of such an integration is the erasing of Israel as a people, separate and distinct. The Torah mandates that we remain as such. And so, here we have one of the main conflicts between a way of life being Jewish, and a life of doing pretty much whatever we want.
...and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them; and that you do not go after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to go astray; (Num. 15:39)
I will be the first to admit that a Western, non-Jewish way of life is much less restrictive than a Jewish way of life. Esau (The West) did whatever he wanted, while his brother Ya'aqov (Israel) did his best to study and to achieve what HaShem wanted of him. I said I would refrain from using Torah logic in this post. But what can I say? The Torah touches every aspect of a Jew's life, whether Milshtein can fathom that or not.

I like to remind people of the term Erev Rav, the mixed-multitude which accompanied us out of Egypt is based on the root word for mix, as in the mixed-multitude. The Erev Rav is all about mixiing things together, the opposite of keeping things separate and distinct, national borders, peoples, religions, and genders. Even our Hebrew language has been inundated with English, ever since the late Prime Minister Sharon's application of the adopted into Hebrew word "relavanti" over 20 years ago.

In other words, Milshtein's vision for Israel does not seem much different than the international community's vision for us: assimilation into a globalist society, dominated by Western "progressive" ideals. But, perhaps Milshtein would allow us some Jewish sprinkles on top of his Western progressive, superior culture, as long as they were not too Jewish.

Milshtein does not seem to be anything less than leftist extraordinaire, Yossi Beilin 2.0, who also happened to have been an architect of the Oslo "Death" Accords.

There really is nothing new under the sun.

Is Yair Lapid Attacking The Torah, One Piece At A Time?

Beyachad (Together) under the leadership of Bennett

yeshatideng
“In case you missed the recent online uproar surrounding the wedding of Yuval Caspit and Nimrod Ron (Mazal Tov!), here’s a summary: They had a Jewish wedding, broke a glass, and said “If I forget you, Jerusalem” (Ps. 137:5) – but there was no chuppah (marriage canopy) and no representative of the Rabbinate.

The expected uproar erupted immediately. “How dare you?”, “What’s Jewish about you?” One reality star rebuked them harshly: “If you don’t believe in marriage according to the law of Moses and Israel, then in whose honor is the kippah?”

Their argument goes: There is only one version of Judaism, and only we know what it is. According to this, the entire history of Judaism, the entire Jewish story, is not a story of faith, but of power. Either you do what you are told, or you are not really Jewish.

I have married about eighty couples in my life. It has always been a very Jewish wedding. There was a chuppah, there was Kiddushin (marriage sanctification), we recited Sheva Brachot (seven marriage blessings), and there were at least two witnesses. That is all that is needed, that is all that Judaism asks for. Love and fear of God and a desire to start a family in Israel. King David married Michal Bat Shaul without any representative of the Rabbinate. Rachel fell in love with Rabbi Akiva and they got married despite the firm opposition of the establishment.

Part of the power of Judaism, throughout the generations, stems from the fact that no person, Rabbi, institution, party or reality star could say: “I am the sole voice of God.” Judaism believes in God, but is very suspicious of people who claim to speak in his name.

Are people who march through the streets of Jerusalem and sing “May your village burn” better Jews than those who sing at their weddings, “Kol Chatan v’Kol Kala”? (Jer. 7:34) Is someone who lives at the expense of the state a better Jew than someone who donates all the checks they received at their wedding to charity?“

“The couples I married did not want to distance themselves from Judaism, but rather the opposite: to get closer to it. They felt that the rabbinical establishment was pushing them away, that it was not letting them seek their way to God and to tradition. The couples felt that they were trying to force Judaism onto them instead of inviting them to it. They thought that belief that you do not choose is not belief.

So they chose to marry according to their faith. According to their conception of Judaism. Now the religious establishment has two options: to push them further away, or to ask itself why they feel this way.”
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Yair Lapid's entire instagram post was quoted here, as it is well-worth reading it in its entirety, to know exactly you may be voting for.
"There is only one version of Judaism, and only we know what it is. According to this, the entire history of Judaism, the entire Jewish story, is not a story of faith, but of power. Either you do what you are told, or you are not really Jewish."
This is the identical argument used against the authority, or even the existence, of Torah sheb'al peh (The Oral Torah). Arguments such as this have come from those in the liberal, "Jewish" movements, as well as from the Jews who began the path toward Christianity, two thousand years ago. Although I suppose that some who side with Lapid believe that their understanding of the Torah sheb'al peh is correct, and everyone else is wrong.

It is surprising that Lapid did not add the catchphrase "there are 70 facets of the Torah," a popular justification for member of the liberal "Jewish" movements to do whatever they want, and call it Judaism.
"Rabbi Elazar HaModa'i says... one who interprets the Torah contrary to the halakhah (the law), even though he has Torah knowledge and good deeds, he has no share in the world to come." (Mishnah Avoth 3:14 [11])
But what do these Jews care? Instead, they like to cry, "Oppression at the hands of the Patriarchy!" among other choice mantras, when texts do not say what they like, and the opposite, when they do.

This brings us to the most important takeaway from Lapid's post, something I have been warning you about for years. The Lapids of the world believe that we should operate according to our feelings. To Jews like Lapid, Judaism is how we feel it is, or feel it should be, and no one can tell us otherwise.

This is how Jacob's (Israel's) brother Esau (Edom / The West) operates, not Jacob. Whereas Jacob does his best to do what The Almighty wants; Esau follows his desires.

How does Jacob know what he is supposed to? He learned it from his father Isaac, who learned it from his father Abraham. Likewise, Jacob passed down his knowledge until it reached our time.
Mishnah Avoth (aka Pirkei Avot)
Moses received the Torah from [Mount] Sinai and gave it over to Joshua. Joshua gave it over to the Elders, the Elders to the Prophets, and the Prophets gave it over to the Men of the Great Assembly... (1:1)

Shimon the Righteous was among the last surviving members of the Great Assembly... (1:2)

Antignos of Socho received [the tradition] from Shimon the Righteous... (1:3)

Yossi the son of Yo'ezer of Tzreidah, and Yossi the son of Yohanan of Jerusalem, received [the tradition] from them... (1:4)

Joshua the son of Perahiyah and Nitai the Arbelite received [it] from them... (1:6)

Judah the son of Tabbai and Shimon the son of Shatah received [it] from them... (1:8)

Shma'yah and Avtalyon received from them... (1:10)

Hillel and Shammai received [it] from them... (1:12)
Mishnah, Talmudim, Gaonim, Rishonim, and so on.

Lapid does make a good point, though, about the need for the Rabbinate to reach Jews who are disenfranchised, arriving without any Jewish education at all, or from countries known for their oppression of Jewish beliefs and practices.

What seems to be a message of pluralism and creativity, code words for "making it up, according to how we feel," is not the solution.

Rabbi Hershel Shachter, Rosh Yeshivah of RIETS at Yeshiva University, teaches that both Torah and the Land of Israel are referred to, not as yerushah (inheritance), but as morashah (heritage). A yerushah can be done with as one pleases. But a morashah must be maintained, and handed to the next generation in tact, and not chopped up, sold, nor given away.

Because of Jews like Lapid, it is no wonder why the Rabbinate has to put so much effort into its defense of the Torah, into its defense of kosher marriage, divorce, and burial. No wonder why haredim (ultra-orthodox) increasingly believe in the need to isolate from general, Israeli society, and oppose their sons' conscription into the IDF.

Does Lapid actually believe what he is saying? Or does he believe that the Torah is one part recorded history, and many parts nonsense? Is the approach expressed here really to help Jews come closer to Torah? Or is it to destroy the Torah from within, one piece at a time?

And what does Lapid's "religious" running mate in the upcoming Israeli elections, Naftali Bennett, believe? He is the one in the photo with the kippah, who wants another shot at being Israel's prime minister.

Ask Bennett if he approves of the religious free-for-all, seemingly being promoted by Lapid.

We already know what the Reform Movement and Christian missionaries want.

Shavu'oth, Ramat Ilan, Givat Shmu'el

YNET: Shavuot: Same Customs, New Approach (translation)
Water fights, flower garlands, Shavuot night repairs and dairy meals - the holiday's familiar customs have remained with us for centuries. But amid climate change, environmental awareness and new technologies, Israelis are finding new ways to celebrate Shavuot without giving up the spirit of tradition
Nitzan Pincu | May 13, 2026
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
This piece by Nitzan Pincu, with the participation of the Gad and Remilk Dairies, seems primarily to be a promotion of particular products. Surprisingly, I also happen to agree with a few of the points she makes about out Nevertheless, this is a good opportunity to point out a few notable words and phrases, we should all be aware of, or rather, be wary of.
Customs and holidays tend to evolve and adapt as our society changes. Shavuot, one of the most beloved and joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar, remains the same familiar holiday - but the way Israelis choose to celebrate it continues to change over time. These changes do not happen all at once, but slowly seep into the customs most identified with the holiday, through small choices and natural adjustments to today's life.
The holiday of Shavu'oth (Feast of Weeks) commemorates the giving of the Torah. "Weeks," for we just completed the mitzvah of Sefirath HaOmer, the counting of 49 days, for a total of seven weeks, from the second day of Passover, the day of the harvesting of the omer of barley. The commandment to bring the First Fruits to the Temple, is also performed on Shavu'oth.

Let's see what Nitzan Pincu means by "evolve and adapt," as we as some of her other choices of words and phrases.

Pincu mentions the custom of Tiqqun Leil Shavu'oth, staying up the night of Shavu'oth to learn Torah. This custom is a tiqqun (reparation; to make up) for the People of Israel having fallen asleep before the giving of the Torah (Midrash Shir HaShirim Rabbah 1:12).
...we correct the actions of our mothers and fathers by reading the Torah.

In recent years, in parallel with traditional study, parallel frameworks have also developed: content events, lectures and meetings that allow a wide audience to take part in the idea of a "night of learning" - each through their own areas of interest. These events are held annually throughout the country in cultural centers, community centers and local authorities.
Setting aside the obvious red flag of stating "mothers and fathers," instead of just forefathers -- women are exempt from time-related, positive mitzvoth (commandments), not to mention most forms of Torah study -- it seems here that Pincu puts "lectures and meetings" on the same level with Torah learning.

Still, such lectures "through their own areas of interest," could be a way for secular Jews to connect with their Torah heritage. I have been to personal stories of soldiers, olim (immigrants), which have been very inspirational. Although somehow, I do not think that connecting with a traditional approach to Torah is what was intended here.

Next on the list is the North African custom of dumping water on someone's head, and giving blessing him with the words, "There is no water, but Torah." She also mentions other customs with water, sprinkling, showering, and even water fights.

I am certainly all for conserving water. Perhaps these customs should be modified, or even discouraged, for the sake of the health of our homeland. But the alternative?
...in order to save water due to climate change and drought, many people replace the wars with trips to water sources around the country - streams, springs and beaches.
Tell me something. How are they supposed to get to these natural water sources? Camping out for the holiday? Or this year, the holiday and Shabboth? There are, after all, plenty of groups of religious camping enthusiasts out there. The Kineret (Sea of Galilee) and Eilat on the Red Sea are popular Shabboth camping venues, not to mention some forests and other beaches, with designated camping areas.

However, I suspect that she may actually mean getting into one's car on the holiday itself and driving to these natural water sources, something which Jews are prohibited from doing, according to the very Torah we are commemorating having received.
...children arrive for the holiday with a green and colorful crown on their heads, and quite a few adults do the same. The custom of picking flowers for the holiday underwent a significant change as early as 1956, with the Plant Protection Law that restricted the picking of protected species.

The solution is simple: paper flowers or dried flowers that can be prepared in advance and reused each year. No less beautiful and without the need to search for what is allowed and what is not.
Pincu makes good point here, with or without a law in place. While living in the town of Ofra, residents were asked not to pick wildflowers within the town, simply so that everyone can enjoy them, and not just the few that came to pick them all. And although many such flowers are annuals, and grow from bulbs or corms, over-picking can still prevent seed production and propagation.

But, paper flowers? Maybe. They are biodegradable, and can be educational, art projects. But shouldn't we also reduce our paper usage? The jury is out on this suggestion.

And finally, we have the anticipated, product promotion.

When it comes to profit, we jump from [possibly] driving on yom tov (holidays such as Passover, Rosh HaShannah, and Yom Kippur) to maintaining a kosher diet? Jews do not eat meat with dairy. There are various customs as to how long after a meat meal, one needs to wait before eating dairy. Although it is true that many Israelis due keep kosher, even though they do not keep Shabboth (Sabbatical laws).
The new milk is suitable for those who want to diversify and try new flavors. It allows you to enjoy dairy flavors even after a meat meal and makes it easier for those who are lactose sensitive, but it is not suitable for those allergic to milk because it contains milk protein.
How is this possible? Has the protein been extracted from that milk, and so highly processed that it is considered davar acher (something else)? Who can say?

The claim of moving forward (progressivism?) can sometimes actually be moving us backwards, to remain stuck in the exile of assimilation among the nations.

Every time someone suggests that Jews "evolve and adapt," even their customs, the motivation behind it must come into question. Is the interest here in changing customs, or is it really about changing the Torah.

Pincu mentions Israelis, but not Jews living in Israel. When Shimon Peres and his Labor Party was defeated in the elections by up and comer Binyamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party, Peres as famously stated that the Israelis had lost the election. When asked if Israelis lost, then who won, his response was, "The Jews."

The point is that she would not be the first one to differentiate between these two. It is likely that this was not her intention at all. But, it does warrant a mention.

Another word to be wary of, when you see it is pluralism. Pluralism suggests inclusion. But the truth is that it is code for validating that which is anti-Torah under the guise of inclusiveness..

When the word creativity pops up, it is not referring to the creation of new recipes to uplift the holiday. It is code for allowing, even encouraging Jews, to believe that their new fangled anti-Torah concepts are Torah, when they could not be anything further from Torah.

The band playing on Shavu'oth in the photo (above) is in the city of Givat Shmu'el, a city in which everything is closed on Shabboth and on holidays. How does this city justify its allowance of this event? in violation of the holiday?.

Was it throwing the secular Jews a bone? Did a majority of a secular city council authorize it? Or are political seats of power really that valuable?

The True Objective Of Ultra-Orthodox Conscription Into The IDF

The English translation of the video can be found below.

Rare testimony from the inside: “The commander shouted at me when I said, ‘Shema, Yisrael' – the IDF is coming to make us secular.”

From an interview for the new radio program ‘Kikar FM’ hosted by Eli Gotthelf. The full program is on the ‘Kikar Hashabbat’ website.
Translation:
But the guys here, who were like me and enlisted, many of them became secular guys.

The IDF has a specific goal, not just to protect the people of Israel, even if we shut down the Hashmonaim Brigade (an IDF Haredi unit). It has another role. To make a new person here.

Some commander arrives, and asks us a question. If now, God forbid, you're in Jenin, it doesn't matter where, and you see that you're going to die. You took a bullet -- may that not happen to us -- what would you say?

Then I raise my hand. I've always been the one to raise my hand. I say, "Shema Yisrael." What is this? What am I going to say? I'm Jewish. I would say, "Shema Yisrael."

So he yelled at me. He told me, we don't say that. I told him, "What do we say?" So he says, "Now, listen to this." He told us the story of Trumpeldor, who said it's good to die for our Land.

Every Jewish child says, you know, on October 7 [2023], the raiders come into some base? How did they identify who's who? They said, "Shema Yisrael." They shouted at them "Shema Yisrael." That's how they identified them. This is our identity.

The role of the army today is to actually take this away [from us]. No you don't say "Shema Yisrael." Leave it. Leave it. What is this nonsense. Leave this [thing from the] exile. They are coming to make us secular.

The guys here, from our community, who were like me and who enlisted, many of them became secular guys. Suddenly you know after a month you get a weapon which after a month after two weeks you already feel like you belong to the people of the entire IDF. You suddenly understand all the guys. You see them going to a bar. You break down there. You understand? You become damaged....
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
I do not care for this term "Ultra-Orthodox," for some many reasons. But, it is what most of you know. One of these days, you will use the term Haredi, from the word for to fear, or to tremble, as in to fear or tremble before God.

I have been warning of this for years, of the compulsion of those in government to indoctrinate not only Haredim, but any and all Jews who view The Almighty and His Torah be on higher authority than laws created by men. It must eliminate all dissent, in order to main power control.

The Haredi draft issue has never been about the Haredi draft.

So, what is this young man talking about the example that he provides in his testimony? For those not in the know -- Jews, please do not be embarrassed if that's you -- “Shema Yisrael” (Hear, O Israel) refers to the mitzvah (commandment) for all Jewish men to recite certain passages from the Torah, once in the morning, and once at night. Each of the passages begin...
Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might... (Deut. 6:4-9)
And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently to My commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season... (Deut. 11:13-21)
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 'Speak to the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them throughout their generations tzitzit (fringes) in the corners of their garments, and that they put with the fringe of each corner a thread of blue.... (Num. 15:37-41)
Some of these verses you may find familiar, or you remember from your afterschool Hebrew programs. You may also be familiar with the custom of reciting the Shema, before taking one's final breath in This World. This is what is being referring to in the interview, in the debate between soldier and unit commander, to recite the Shema, or apparently, to contemplate one's sacrifice for the Land of Israel.

It seems to be me that a more effective indoctrination strategy would be to encourage both. There has been a concerted effort to convince a large segment of the population that there is little to no difference between Torah Law and State law.

Perhaps it is the all in with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might which they find to be so threatening. All for God, means none for the State.

While the religious mamlakhtim (diehard State loyalists) lackeys are allowed to get away with this strategy of Torah = State, their Erev Rav masters are sticking with theirs.

Centrality of the State, and loyalty to it... only.
