האם אנחנו באמת קראנו את מה שקראנו? הברית החדשה? זה ספר הקודש של הנוצרים. למה בנט או מישהו בצוותו משתמש במילים האלה?

אז זו הייתה טעות? או שמישהו מפוטר? ובכן, הכתבה הזו מלפני קצת יותר משנה. הכתבה להלן באנגלית מהשבוע. כלומר אף אחד לא הספיק לתקן את הטעות. לכן או שהם יודעים על הרמז כאן לנצרות, ולא אכפת להם, או שהם מנצלים אותו. בצד שני יש מצב שהם באמת כל כך טיפשים?

אנא קחו בחשבון שאנגלית היא שפת האם של נפתלי בנט, ויאיר לפיד התגרר זמן ניכר באנגליה בילדותו. רבים עדיין לא יודעים עד כמה טובה יכולת של לפיד באנגלית.

קשה מאוד לקבל שבנט ולפיד לא יודעים את זה, כל שכן בעברית. הפרוש של ״ברית חדשה״ ברור מאוד.

האם זה היה סוג של איתות לחבריו הנוצרים של בנט? כתור שר החינוך, נפתלי בנט תמך בתוכנית הכשרת המנהיגות של המשפיענית הנוצרית הת'ר ג'ונסטון באריאל. אריאל עיר בשומרון, אך גם בסיס הקשור לפעילויות נוצריות בישראל. משפחת אורטיז "המשיחית" (יהודים מאמינים ביש״ו) התגוררה באריאל, והמטה של חברי משפחת וולר מהיובל ומ"ישראל גאיז" היה שם.

מישהו יכול לגרום לזה להיות היגיון?

אם עושים חשבון כולל התסמינים האלה יחד, אז התוצאה שיוצאת מזה היא משהו ממש כמו תנועת "ההשכלה היהודית" (בערך 1770 - 1880). כלומר תנועה נגד התורה. אבל הפעם הזו יותר גרועה מהפעם שעברה מפני שבנט שם כיפה עליה בניסיון לשכנע אותנו שדרכו עבורנו היא דרכה יהודית.

Did we really just read what we read? New Convenant? The Hebrew above is even more telling, and is less excusable. ברית חדשה brith hadashah is Hebrew for... [wait for it] the Christians' New Testament.

So, was this an error? Or is someone getting fired? Well, the Hebrew article is from just over a year ago. So, either they know the implications of this name, don't care, or are exploiting it. Or they are really are that stupid.

Please keep in mind that English is Naftali Bennett's first language, and the Yair Lapid spent much of his childhood back and forth between London, England, and Israel. Many still do not know just how good Lapid's English is.

The stupidity argument does not hold water.

Was this some kind of signal to Bennett's Christian friends? As Minister of Education, Naftali Bennett supported Christian influencer Heather Johnston's leadership training program in Ariel. Ariel may be a city in Samaria, but has also been a base associated with Christian activities in Israel. The "messianic" Ortiz family resided in Ariel, and members of the Waller family of Hayovel and Israel Guys fame have been headquartered there.

Education seems to be a focus of Bennett's campaign for prime minister. Bennett has jumped on the anti-Haredi (ultra-orthodox) bandwagon, and has once again aligned himself with a notable anti-Torah politician, son of the late anti-Torah journalist, turned politician, Yosef "Tommy" Lapid.

Bennett's plan includes higher educational standards, crackdown on 'ultra-Orthodox state'

“We will dismantle the ultra-Orthodox state within a state and build one Jewish, democratic, prosperous, and strong state.” he said.

This is all highly reminiscent of the "re-education" code word used by the government in 2013 to go after the Hilltop Youth.

In 2016, that same former Minster of [Re-] Education Shai Piron (Lapid's Yesh Atid Party) praised Bennett for his proposed "culture reforms." Culture reforms is code for Torah = bad, Western style academia = good.

The code phrase "Jewish Democracy" can signify any number of possibilities: Confusion over what is Jewish and what is an artifact of our Western exile, an erasure of any non-Western elements of Jewish, or simply a ploy to entice Jews away from authentic Torah-life. Democracy is, after all, a Greek concept, not a Jewish one.

Do not the religious supporters of Democracy pray three times per day for the return of the Kingdom of David? Kingdom, not democracy?

Make it make sense.

Add all of these symptoms together, and we get the Haskalah "Jewish Enlightenment" -- anti-Torah -- Movement (c. 1770 - 1880). Only this time it's worse, because Bennett is trying to convince us that his path for us is a Jewish one, by putting a kippah (Jewish head covering) on it. 

Well,... sort of.

הכתבה הזו על ידי ניצן פינקו ובהשתתפות מחלבות גד ורמילק, בעיקר נראית כקידום מכירות של מוצרים מסוימים. באופן מפתיע, אני גם מסכים עם כמה מהנקודות שפינקו מעלה בכתבה. אף על פי כן, זוהי הזדמנות טובה להעיר על כמה מילים וביטויים בולטים, שכולנו צריכים לשים לב להם, ואפילו להזהר מהם..

בואו נראה למה ניצן פינקו מתכוונת ב"להתפתח ולעבור התאמות", יחד עם כמה מהמילים ומהביטויים שהיא בוחרות לרשום.

פינקו מזכירה את מנהג תיקון ליל שבועות, להשאר ערים בליל שבועות וללמוד תורה כל הלילה. מנהג זה הוא תיקון על עם ישראל שנרדם לפני מתן תורה (מדרש שיר השירים רבה א,יב).

בנוסף לנורה אדומה הברורה של קביעת "אמהותינו ואבותינו"*, במקום רק ״אבותינו״ נראה כאן שפינקו מציעה ש"הרצאות ומפגשים" באותה רמה של לימודי תורה. *נשים פטורות ממצוות תלויות בזמן, וגם פטורות מהרבה סוגים של לימודי התורה.

בכל זאת, הרצאות כאלה "דרך תחומי העניין" שלהם יכולות להיות דרך עבור יהודים חילונים להתחבר למורשת התורה שלנו. אישית אני השתתפתי בשיחות אישיות של חיילים, עולים חדשים, שהיו מעוררי השראה רבה. אבל לא נראה לי שהכוונה של "הרצאות ומפגשים" של "תחומי העניין" היא עידד להתחבר לתורהמבחינה מסורתית.

המנהג הבא ברשימה הוא המנהג הצפון אפריקאי של שפיכת מים על ראשו של חבר, וברכתו במילים "אין מים אלא תורה". היא מזכירה גם מנהגים אחרים של מים, כגון מקלחת מים קרים בחצר בית הכנסת ואפילו מלחמות מים.

אני בעד חיסכון במים לחלוטין. אולי אנחנו כן צריכים לשנות את המנהגים האלה, או אפילו להרתיע אותם, למען שמירת הסביבה. אבל איזה מנהגים יחליפו אותם?

בימינו, כדי לחסוך במים עקב שינויי האקלים והבצורת, נוהגים רבים להחליף את המלחמות בטיולים למקורות מים ברחבי הארץ - נחלים, מעיינות וחופי ים.

איך הם אמורים להגיע למקורות המים הטבעיים האלה? לבלות את החג במחנאות? (השנה בחג וגם בשבת) בוודאי יש קבוצות של חובבי מחנאות דתיים. הכינרת ואילת הן אתרים מעדפים לשבת בנוסף לכמה יערות וחופים אחרים איפה יש בם מחנות ייעודות.

עם זאת, נראה לי ש למעשה היא מתכוונת לעלות לרכב בחג עצמו ולנסוע למקורות המים הטבעיים, מה שאסור ליהודים לעשות על פי התורה בחג הזה. אנחנו לא חוגגים את מתן תורה באמצעות עבירתה.

עכשיו כשנוגע בהרוויחה, אנחנו קופצים מנסיעה [אפשרית] ביום טוב לשמירת כשרות? למרות שנכון יש ישראלים רבים שמורי כשרות, למרות שהם לא שומרים שבת.

החלב החדש, מתאים למי שרוצים לגוון ולנסות טעמים חדשים, מאפשר ליהנות מטעמים חלביים גם אחרי ארוחה בשרית ומקל על מי שרגישים ללקטוז, אך אינו מתאים לאלרגים לחלב מפני שהוא מכיל חלבון חלב.

איך יכול להיות? האם החלבון הופק מהחלב, ועבר עיבוד עד כדי שהוא נחשב דבר אחר? מי יכול לדעת?

לפעמים הטענה של התקדמות יכולה להיות תירוץ להעביר אותנו אחורה, כדי להשאר תקועים בגלות ובהתבוללות בתוך הגוים.

בכל פעם שמישהו מציע ליהודים "להתפתח ולעבור התאמות", אפילו את מנהגיהם, צריכים לשאול על הניעה. האם היא בשינוי מנהגים, או שמא מדובר באמת בשינוי התורה.

הרב הרשל שכטר, אחד ראשי ישיבה בישיבה יוניברסיטי, מלמד שגם התורה וגם ארץ ישראל לא נזכרות בתורה עצמה כירושה, אלא כמורשה. אפשר לעשות מה שרוצים עם ירושה . אבל מורשה חייבים לשמור ולהעביר אותה לדור הבא בשלמותה, ולא למכור או למסור אותה לאחרים.

פינקו מזכירה ״ישראלים״, אך לא ״יהודים המגוררים בישראל״. כשבנימין נתניהו ניצח את שמעון פרס בבחירות, פרס הצהיר שהישראלים הפסידו. כשעיתונאי שאל אותו אם הישראלים הפסידו, אז מי ניצח? אז הוא ענה "היהודים".

הכוונה היא שפינקו לא הראשונה שמבדילה בין שניהם. עם זאת סביר להניח שזאת לא הכוונה שלה כלל. אבל, שווה להעיר את זה.

מילה נוספת שכדאי להזהר ממנה היא פְּלוּרָלִיזְם (הכרה בדרכי חשיבה שונות). פלורליזם מרמז על הכללת כל ההשקפות. אבל האמת היא שזהו סיסמא להכללת מה שסותר את התורה.

כהמילה יצירתיות נזכרת, היא לא מתייחסת ליצירת מתכונים חדשים כדי לשפר אווירת החג. אלא היא סיסמא לאפשר, ואף לעודד, יהודים להאמין שהחידושים שלהם באמת תורה למרות שהם סותרים את התורה.

מה זה? זריקה לחילונים עידוד קטן? האם הרוב החילוני במועצת העיר אישר את זה? או שמא מושבי כוח פוליטיים באמת יקרי ערך עד כדי כך?

This piece by Nitzan Pincu, with the participation of the Gad and Remilk Dairies, seems primarily to be a promotion of particular products. Surprisingly, I also happen to agree with a few of the points she makes about out Nevertheless, this is a good opportunity to point out a few notable words and phrases, we should all be aware of, or rather, be wary of.

Customs and holidays tend to evolve and adapt as our society changes. Shavuot, one of the most beloved and joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar, remains the same familiar holiday - but the way Israelis choose to celebrate it continues to change over time. These changes do not happen all at once, but slowly seep into the customs most identified with the holiday, through small choices and natural adjustments to today's life.

The holiday of Shavu'oth (Feast of Weeks) commemorates the giving of the Torah. "Weeks," for we just completed the mitzvah of Sefirath HaOmer, the counting of 49 days, for a total of seven weeks, from the second day of Passover, the day of the harvesting of the omer of barley. The commandment to bring the First Fruits to the Temple, is also performed on Shavu'oth.

Let's see what Nitzan Pincu means by "evolve and adapt," as we as some of her other choices of words and phrases.

Pincu mentions the custom of Tiqqun Leil Shavu'oth, staying up the night of Shavu'oth to learn Torah. This custom is a tiqqun (reparation; to make up) for the People of Israel having fallen asleep before the giving of the Torah (Midrash Shir HaShirim Rabbah 1:12).

...we correct the actions of our mothers and fathers by reading the Torah.

In recent years, in parallel with traditional study, parallel frameworks have also developed: content events, lectures and meetings that allow a wide audience to take part in the idea of a "night of learning" - each through their own areas of interest. These events are held annually throughout the country in cultural centers, community centers and local authorities.

Setting aside the obvious red flag of stating "mothers and fathers," instead of just forefathers -- women are exempt from time-related, positive mitzvoth (commandments), not to mention most forms of Torah study -- it seems here that Pincu puts "lectures and meetings" on the same level with Torah learning.

Still, such lectures "through their own areas of interest," could be a way for secular Jews to connect with their Torah heritage. I have been to personal stories of soldiers, olim (immigrants), which have been very inspirational. Although somehow, I do not think that connecting with a traditional approach to Torah is what was intended here.

Next on the list is the North African custom of dumping water on someone's head, and giving blessing him with the words, "There is no water, but Torah." She also mentions other customs with water, sprinkling, showering, and even water fights.

I am certainly all for conserving water. Perhaps these customs should be modified, or even discouraged, for the sake of the health of our homeland. But the alternative?

...in order to save water due to climate change and drought, many people replace the wars with trips to water sources around the country - streams, springs and beaches.

Tell me something. How are they supposed to get to these natural water sources? Camping out for the holiday? Or this year, the holiday and Shabboth? There are, after all, plenty of groups of religious camping enthusiasts out there. The Kineret (Sea of Galilee) and Eilat on the Red Sea are popular Shabboth camping venues, not to mention some forests and other beaches, with designated camping areas.

However, I suspect that she may actually mean getting into one's car on the holiday itself and driving to these natural water sources, something which Jews are prohibited from doing, according to the very Torah we are commemorating having received.

...children arrive for the holiday with a green and colorful crown on their heads, and quite a few adults do the same. The custom of picking flowers for the holiday underwent a significant change as early as 1956, with the Plant Protection Law that restricted the picking of protected species.

The solution is simple: paper flowers or dried flowers that can be prepared in advance and reused each year. No less beautiful and without the need to search for what is allowed and what is not.

Pincu makes good point here, with or without a law in place. While living in the town of Ofra, residents were asked not to pick wildflowers within the town, simply so that everyone can enjoy them, and not just the few that came to pick them all. And although many such flowers are annuals, and grow from bulbs or corms, over-picking can still prevent seed production and propagation.

But, paper flowers? Maybe. They are biodegradable, and can be educational, art projects. But shouldn't we also reduce our paper usage? The jury is out on this suggestion.

And finally, we have the anticipated, product promotion.

When it comes to profit, we jump from [possibly] driving on yom tov (holidays such as Passover, Rosh HaShannah, and Yom Kippur) to maintaining a kosher diet? Jews do not eat meat with dairy. There are various customs as to how long after a meat meal, one needs to wait before eating dairy. Although it is true that many Israelis due keep kosher, even though they do not keep Shabboth (Sabbatical laws).

The new milk is suitable for those who want to diversify and try new flavors. It allows you to enjoy dairy flavors even after a meat meal and makes it easier for those who are lactose sensitive, but it is not suitable for those allergic to milk because it contains milk protein.

How is this possible? Has the protein been extracted from that milk, and so highly processed that it is considered davar acher (something else)? Who can say?

The claim of moving forward (progressivism?) can sometimes actually be moving us backwards, to remain stuck in the exile of assimilation among the nations.

Every time someone suggests that Jews "evolve and adapt," even their customs, the motivation behind it must come into question. Is the interest here in changing customs, or is it really about changing the Torah.

Rabbi Hershel Shachter, Rosh Yeshivah of RIETS at Yeshiva University, teaches that both Torah and the Land of Israel are referred to, not as yerushah (inheritance), but as morashah (heritage). A yerushah can be done with as one pleases. But a morashah must be maintained, and handed to the next generation in tact, and not chopped up, sold, nor given away.

Pincu mentions Israelis, but not Jews living in Israel. When Shimon Peres and his Labor Party was defeated in the elections by up and comer Binyamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party, Peres as famously stated that the Israelis had lost the election. When asked if Israelis lost, then who won, his response was, "The Jews."

The point is that she would not be the first one to differentiate between these two. It is likely that this was not her intention at all. But, it does warrant a mention.

Another word to be wary of, when you see it is pluralism. Pluralism suggests inclusion. But the truth is that it is code for validating that which is anti-Torah under the guise of inclusiveness..

When the word creativity pops up, it is not referring to the creation of new recipes to uplift the holiday. It is code for allowing, even encouraging Jews, to believe that their new fangled anti-Torah concepts are Torah, when they could not be anything further from Torah.

The band playing on Shavu'oth in the photo (above) is in the city of Givat Shmu'el, a city in which everything is closed on Shabboth and on holidays. How does this city justify its allowance of this event? in violation of the holiday?.

Was it throwing the secular Jews a bone? Did a majority of a secular city council authorize it? Or are political seats of power really that valuable?

עוד הוסיף, "התרענו תמיד על הפעילות המסוכנת של אותם אנרכיסטים, שלעיתים מעודדת טרור, ועתה מתגלה שהאנרכיסטים בעצמם נוקטים בצעדי טירוף של פגיעה בטבע ובאדם תוך חשש ליצירת אסון אקולוגי כלפי נדידת הציפורים וסיכון חיי אדם".

בלייכר קרא לרשויות לפעול בנחישות, "אנו קוראים לכוחות הביטחון, לשב"כ ולרשויות החוק לפעול בנחישות רבה למעצר החשודים בדבר, העמדתם לדין בחומרה והרחקה מיידית של אותם פעילים שכל עניינם פגיעה בהתיישבות היהודית".

בהצלחה ביוזמה ובעתירות אלה.

שמאלנים מטילים אימה על מתנחלים במשך שנים, כרתו עצי זית או פגעו בתשתיות, ואז האשימו את היהודים בכל זה. תיעוד וידאו לא עזר הרבה. אם שמאלנים אלה אכן מקבלים השלכות כלשהן, זה קורה מאחורי הקלעים, ומדווחים בחדשות רק בתקציר קטן הקבור, אם בכלל.

Leftists have been terrorizing settlers for years, cutting down olives trees, or damaging infrastructure, and then blaming Jews for it all. Video documentation has not helped much. If these leftists do receive any consequences, this happens behind the scenes, and are reported in a small blurb buried in the news, if at all.

Meanwhile, settlers sit in jail either for crimes they did not commit, but were blamed for, or were just defending their land and property from theft and vandalism.

Continued negative publicity is exactly what is desired by the powers that be.

It is the same old, but effective, "divide and conquer" strategy, also used again Haredim (ultra-orthodox).

הקיסר דונלד טראמפ כובש חלקים מהמולדת עם ישראל, וזה לא אנטישמי?

אנטישמיות בשנת 2025? אנחנו אפילו לא יכולים להשתמש בלוח השנה שלנו, וחייבים להשתמש רק בזה של הגויים. למה? לא מזמן תושב תל אביב שאל אותי "אם אנשים עדיין משתמשים בזה". בשנות ה-90, אפילו יהודים שמאלניים בארה״ב דיברו על "אנטישמיות מופנמת". שימוש בלוח השנה הלועזי בלבד הוא דוגמה טובה, לעיל ולתלות השיתופית הרגילה שלנו. עלינו לשאול את עצמנו איך התבוללות לא פשוט סוג של אנטישמיות מופנמת.

In 2008, an American friend thought that electing Barack Obama president would encourage a mass exodus of Jews from the U. S. That clearly did not happen. And now, the election of Zohran Mamdami as mayor of New York City is not even scratching the surface. Even though only 33 percent of Jewish New Yorkers voted for Mamdani. 67% of Jewish voters under the age of 44 supported Zohran Mamdani.”

And why are we still calling it antisemitism? Can we not even call it what it really is: Jew-hatred.

...מדובר צה"ל נמסר כי הרמטכ"ל ערך תחקיר ראשוני לאירוע האלימות של אזרחים ישראלים נגד כוחות צה״ל, וציין כי הוא מגבה באופן מלא את התנהלות המפקדים ואת פעילותם. ״המטרה שלנו בגזרה היא לסכל טרור. ההתפרעויות האלימות פוגעות ביכולת שלנו לבצע את המשימה - שמירה על מרקם חיים, הגנה על ההתיישבות והתושבים וסיכול הטרור. יש כאן התיישבות נהדרת ושומרת חוק, פעולות כאלה של קבוצת קיצונים פוגעות ראשית באוכלוסייה, מערערות את הביטחון בגזרה ומסיטות את הכוחות ממשימתם המרכזית. האלימות והמעשים הקיצוניים, במידה שלא יטופלו בצורה נחרצת ומערכתית, יכולים להיגמר באסון"...

ואז הרמטכ״ל כבר החליט שהחיילים חפים מפשע לחלוטין? המתנחלים אחראים לחלוטין למה שקרה?

ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו גינה הערב, עוד לפני צאת השבת, את פרעות המתנחלים בבנימין. "אני מגנה בחריפות את מעשי ההתפרעות שהתרחשו באזור בנימין, שבהם נתקפו חיילי צה"ל. מדינת ישראל היא מדינת חוק ואסור לאיש לקחת את החוק לידיו. יש לחקור את האירועים עד תום ולמצות את הדין עם כל מי שהפר חוק ופעל נגד חיילינו", מסר בהודעה. נתניהו ציין כי מדובר ב"מיעוט קטן, שאינו מייצג את הרוב המוחלט של אנשי ההתיישבות, ששומרים על החוק ומשרתים בצה"ל ובכוחות הביטחון".

רה״מ צודק. המיעוט הקטן הזה לא משתחווים למדינה ולא קופצים כל פעם שהממשלה מצווה להם לקפוץ. רה״מ, וכן יש מתנחלים שלא רוצים לשרת בצבא שהורס בתי כנסת ומגרשים יהודים מבתיהם בארץ מולדתנו. ומה עם המתנחלים שכן רוצים לשרת אבל לא מתקבלים בגלל ההשקפות שלהם?

גם נשיא המדינה יצחק הרצוג התייחס הערב לתקיפה, ואמר כי מדובר ב"מעשה חמור ומסוכן שיש להוקיע באופן ברור וחד-משמעי". הוא קרא לחקור את האירוע עד תום ולמצות את הדין עם כל המעורבים, והוסיף: "אין שום הצדקה לאלימות נגד מי שמקדישים את חייהם להגנה על ביטחון המדינה".

ביטחון מדינת ישראל ולא ביטחון עם ישראל או ארץ ישראל. הנשיא הצוג אחד מהמיעוט שמבין את ההבדלים ביניהם הטיב.

השתלשלות האירועים, לפי צה"ל
החל משעות הערב אמש, אומרים בצבא, נערכה התקהלות של כשבעה אזרחים ישראלים במאחז סמוך לכפר מאלכ. לאחר-מכן, הגיעה התקהלות נוספת של כ-70 מתנחלים לאזור. דקות ספורות אחר-כך בוצעה תקיפה מכוונת כלפי כוחות הביטחון, תוך זריקת אבנים לעבר הכוח. הלוחמים השתמשו באמצעים לפיזור הפגנות, ואזרח אחד נפצע קל מכדור ספוג.

עצוב אבל האמת היא שיש צורך לחלל שבת למען פיקוח נפש לא בגלל המחבלים הערבים אלא גם בגלל חיילי צה״ל?

מתנחלים פרסמו כעת צילומים ועדויות ממקור ראשון המפריכות את טענות הצבא הרשמיות על אלימות, תקיפה ברכב, חנק או יידוי אבנים. הם טוענים שגרסת דובר צה"ל היא "עלילת דם", ומאשימים את הצבא באי דיווח על פציעתו של הנער לאורך כל השבת.

על פי עדי ראייה, האירוע החל זמן קצר לפני שבת, כאשר יחידת מג"ב שפינתה קודם לכן את המאחז עזבה. תושבים, שתכננו לחזור רק לאחר כניסת השבת, קיבלו דיווחים לפיהם ערבים מתכוונים להצית את המקום, מה שגרם להם לחזור בדיוק עם כניסת השבת.

ואז מה קרה באמת?

היו שני אירועים שונים, אחד שבו מתנחלים הגנו על בתים ושדות שלהם מפני התקפה אפשרית של ערבים מקומיים בשבת, ואחד שבו לכאורה הותקף מתקן של צה"ל. אפילו הממשלה מכירה בכך שהמעורבים באירוע האחרון לא היו מיהודה ושומרון.

יוסי דגן באמת חושב שתהיה חקירה עצמאית וממש הוגנת? או הוא פשוט אומר בקול את המילים הנכונות וכבר יודע הטיב ששום חקירה הוגנת תצא מזה?

גם טוענים יש מתקן צה"ל שנועד להגן על יהודים. כמובן. יהודים שהם אוהבים, אבל לא יהודים שאינם נאמנים למדינה במאה אחוז, וגם לא כאלה שקשה לשטיפת מוחותם.

כל החיות שוות אבל יש חיות ששוות יותר.

...שר הביטחון ישראל כ"ץ מסתפק ב"פגישה דחופה" עם גורמי הביטחון על תקיפת חיילי צה"ל וכוחות הביטחון ביהודה ושומרון. בהודעה שפרסם שעות לאחר שעשרות פורעים ניסו לפרוץ לבסיס בבנימין, ולאחר הצתת מתקן ביטחוני, הוא הבטיח "לנקוט את כל הצעדים הנדרשים כדי לשים לתופעה סוף", אבל לא פירט מה בכוונתו לעשות - ואם יחזיר לשימוש את צווי המעצר המנהליים - שאותם ביטל לפני כשנה.

JFeed: Shabbat Shooting: 14-Year-Old Shot by IDF in Midnight Outpost Raid
A teenage boy was seriously injured by IDF live fire during a late-night evacuation of an unauthorized outpost in the Binyamin region.

An evacuation operation by the IDF at a newly established outpost in the Binyamin region late Friday night escalated into a dramatic incident involving live fire, which resulted in serious injury to a 14-year-old boy. The teen was reportedly struck by IDF gunfire and hospitalized in serious condition at Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Center. According to settlers present at the scene, the incident began when an IDF officer arrived at the site and allegedly fired live rounds above their heads while threatening, “I’ll kill you all.”

Settlers have now released footage and firsthand testimonies refuting the army's official claims of violence, vehicular assault, choking, or stone-throwing. They say the IDF Spokesperson's version is a "blood libel," and accuse the military of failing to report the teen’s injury throughout Shabbat.

According to eyewitnesses, the event began shortly before Shabbat, when a Border Police unit that had previously cleared the outpost left. Residents, who had planned to return only after Shabbat, received reports that Arabs intended to burn the site, prompting them to return just as Shabbat entered.

At around 10:00 PM, a vehicle with its lights off entered the area. Suspecting a potential hostile intrusion, residents approached with their own vehicle. The car turned out to be a jeep belonging to the battalion commander. He reportedly got out, turned on his lights, and began firing live ammunition overhead while shouting in Hebrew for the boys to lie on the ground.

The teens reportedly raised their hands and lay down, as the commander continued to aim his weapon and laser sight at them. When one boy began filming, the commander allegedly threatened him and forcibly stopped the recording. He then began firing stun and gas grenades, with one launched directly at a car windshield, again reportedly shouting, “I’ll kill you all....”

So, what actually happened?

There were two different incidents, one in which settlers were defending their homes and lands from a potential attack by local Arabs on Shabbat, and one in which an IDF facility was allegedly attacked. Even the government acknowledges that those involved in the latter incident were not from Judea and Samaria.

Yossi Dagan does not really expect to get an independent, and truly, fair investigation does he? Is he just saying the right things, knowing full well that nothing will happen?

An IDF facility meant to protect Jews? Sure. Jews whom they like, but not the Jews who are disloyal, nor difficult to brainwash.

The IDF is there to protect the interests of the government, which includes toeing the line for President Trump, but does not necessarily include protecting Jews. Oh c'mon! Grow up! However, the body Katz described had already existed for several months. Katz, who reversed his predecessor's decision to hold instigators of violence among West Bank settlers under administrative detention, had effectively reinstated a task force already in place...

...Lt. Col. G. stressed that most of the battalion’s time is now spent confronting Jewish rioters. “Some 90% of our time is spent preventing the hilltop youth from torching areas. Our mission is to protect the settlements, not to be distracted from them. This puts the residents in danger.” (cont.)

In 2004 a day or two after I moved into a house in Samaria, the police came to arrest my housemat. He was accused of participating in setting olive trees on fire. The day after that, a friend of his had to come and get a new pair of pants for him, since the police confiscated the pants he was wearing as evidence, to check it for the presence of lighter fluid or the like.

The town's security chief's testimony to my housemate's innocence was not accepted. He had fired warning shots at the threatening Arab attackers. Normally the IDF would back up a security chief in such situations. But not that time.

My housemate was eventually released. Why? Not because lack of evidence, but because one of the Arabs present could not identify him as having been there. He had a distinctive appearance at the time. The police had no choice, but to release him.

That was over 20 years ago. Since then the government has succeeded in significantly shifting this once, hold-out town to a much more State-loyalist perspective.

We can certainly not trust the Lt. Col. G.s of the world to tell the truth, anymore than 21 years ago at my former housemate's arrest.

A senior IDF official also revealed that most of the youths involved in the unrest aren't West Bank residents...

This seemed like a rather interesting statement. So, where are they from? Is the IDF admitting that Jews living in other parts of the country feel the same way, identifying with fed-up settlers?

Of course, there is also the possibility that this was a false flag attack, now used as an excuse to increased government intervention.

According to Katz, all participants in the meeting agreed that “the settler movement as a whole and most of the hilltop youth, do not engage in this kind of violence. This is a small, extreme and violent fringe that deliberately targets security forces, local residents and even settlers.”

Allow me to translate. There are good, in other words well-behaved, settlers with undying loyalty to the state. Then there are other settlers, trouble-makers, as it were.

The government has already threatened "re-education," at least as far back as 2013. And now?

In addition to the announcement of the already-existing task force, Katz authorized the allocation of tens of millions of shekels to fund social and community programs for the hilltop youth.

These initiatives will be led by special coordinator Avichai Tanami in collaboration with local council heads and aim to “integrate the youth into educational and normative frameworks to steer them away from illegal activity.”

Integrate? Normative? Translation:
Loyalty to the State over loyalty to Torah.
This is all just the latest strategy to break the last remaining Torah-loyal settlers of their "dangerous" beliefs.

The government has been trying to break Haredim (ultra-orthodox) as well, since forever, and has been ramping up its efforts through the draft. The Haredi draft issue has nothing to do with the Haredi draft. (2014)

Wouldn't that be something if hilltop and Haredi youth would join together in their struggles against indoctrination? They will need proper guidance, of course. I do not see this happening any time soon, though. We can blame Haredi leadership and lack of organization of the hilltop communities for that.

Unfortunately, I do not see the Mamlakhtim (religious Statists) waking up anytime soon either, so that they can see the increasing number of conflicts between the Torah and the philosophy and actions of the State. Only when the cognitive dissonance builds up enough in the Statist Jews' heads will they either wake up, go completely off the derekh, or have meltdowns en masse.

One final note and warning, there is already a Christian operated, youth leadership program in the City of Ariel, founded by Heather Johnston, friend of former, and potentially future, prime minister. So, just be aware. Make sure that your children are never sent there!

I was recently confronted, asked why I see that everything is connected somehow to Christians.

My answer? Because everything is. The Christians are insidious, and always lurking in the wings. They want our Land, have been focusing on Judea and Samaria, and can sense an opportunity miles, even 10,000 miles, away.

צה"ל הדיח אחר הצהריים (יום שלישי) משירות מילואים פעיל את אלון גור, שכתב היום פוסט ארוך שבו הודיע שלא יתייצב יותר לשירות מילואים מכיוון שאינו מאמין בטוהר הכוונות שעומד מאחורי החזרה ללחימה ברצועת עזה. לפי צה"ל, גור הודח "לצמיתות".

"שמי אלון גור", כתב הנווט, "בן 43, נשוי, אבא לשני מתוקים ועוד מתוקה. הארץ הזו חשובה לי מאוד-מאוד. בחרתי להקדיש את חיי כדי לנסות ליצור פה עתיד טוב יותר - ואני עושה את זה עם המון אופטימיות ותקווה גם ברגעים האפלים ביותר, כי אי-אפשר אחרת".

לדברי גור, הוא משרת מילואים פעיל ב-16 השנים האחרונות, ומגיע על בסיס שבועי לתפקידו כנווט קרב בחיל האוויר. לדבריו, הוא עשה זאת גם "תחת ממשלות רבות שלא הצבעתי להן ולא תמיד הסכמתי עם הצעדים שלהן - שאני בעצמי הוצאתי לפועל".

"לכל אורך הדרך היה לי אמון במנגנון, בשומרי הסף ובכוונות הטהורות כשזה מגיע לביטחון ולחיי אדם", הוסיף. "האמנתי, ועדיין מאמין, שזה תפקידי וזו דמוקרטיה, גם כשלא הכול מחליק בקלות בגרון. ככה קרה גם ב-7 באוקטובר - התייצבתי מיד בלי להסס, כי זה מה שהיה צריך. ומשם, במשך שנה וחצי של מאות ימי מילואים וטיסות ולילות ללא שינה. עשיתי זאת בלב כבד, אבל עם ההבנה שבתוך זה יש גם היגיון רב שמבטיח עתיד טוב יותר. אולי אפילו שלום לא עלינו".

"היום בבוקר נשברתי", כתב. "אני גאה על כל השנים ששירתי בצבא", הוסיף גור. "אני אמשיך להיאבק על דמותה של הארץ הזו בכל דרך אפשרית שאינה אלימה. אני אמשיך לחנך א.נשים לאזרחות פעילה, לאחריות חברתית ולשירות משמעותי בצבא - ולא, אין סתירה בין ההחלטה שלי לבין זה. אני אמשיך להאמין תמיד שיכול להיות פה אחרת".

רוב התוכניות של מכינה קדם-צבאית הן מרכזי החדרה שיטתית של רעיונות שנוצרו לחזק את נאמנות החיילים הדתיים למדינה שהחלה בגן הילדים. לא נזכר בכתבה זו שאלון גור בצוות מכינה בדרום.

כשהייתי מורה בישיבה תיכונית אני עשיתי מה שביכולתי כדי להרחיק תלמידים מהמכינות. מורים אחרים שיתפו איתי פעולה. הישיבה היתה תורנית ודי עצמאית. כלומר, חומר חינוך לזכר רבין שקיבלנו הגיע ישר לפח, ראש הישיבה והסגל תמכו בחיילים שמסרבים פקודות לגרש יהודים מבתיהם ומארצנו וכו'.

עודדנו לתלמידים ללמוד בישיבות הסדר הברירה שלדעתנו הסתדרה עם התורה יותר מלימודים במכינות.

נראה שח"כ אלעזר שטרן, ראש כוח אדם לשעבר בצה"ל, פעל למען פירוקה של תכנית הסדר או לפחות כדי לחלש את התכנית הזו. שטרן היה גם מאלה שאירגנו את תוכנית ההתנתקות גירוש יהודים של רה״מ דאז אריאל שרון, גירוש יהודים מעזה ב-2005.

עלינו לחשוף את שיטת שטות של נאמנות מושבעת למדינה באופן קיצוני של הממלכתים הדתיים. היהודים חייבים להתעורר ולהבין שאפשר להיות נאמן התורה או נאמן המדינה, ולא שניהם. בכל פעם שאני מאמין שהסתירות בין חוקי התורה לחוקי המדינה הפכו להיות הכי ברורות שאפשר, עוד תכנות פסיכולוגית מגיעה - כגון המשך מלחמה ישנה - כדי לשמור את שליטה על האוכלוסיה.

יש למישהו יש מושג על מה החייל הזה מדבר כאן?

האם אני היחיד שלא יכול להבין את הכתבה הזו? אבל, פעם הזאת אני חייב להודות שגם העברית מעורפלת. מציעים לי שהערפול של הכתבה בכוונה. אני מסכים.

החייל הזה, אלון גור, ככל הנראה דתי, ולכן הוא צריך לדעת שלא מבצעים פידיון שבוין אם המחיר יותר מדי. עסקת גלעד שליט אישרה למחבלים שאנו מוכנים לשלם מחיר כזה ואז הננו במצב הנוכחי.

אני התפלאתי לטובה לקרוא על איש צוות במכינה שמצליח לפרוק את עול שטיפת מוחו, ואמר "עד כאן, הגבול נחצה".

אולי הוא משוכנע מכוחות קפלן או מחסידי אהוד ברק. מי יודע? אני לא בוכה על מצבו של ראש הממשלה נתניהו. אני רק תוהה עד כמה ההתפטרות הזו של החיילים משמעותית.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that the service of a reserve combat navigator in the Air Force has been permanently terminated, after he announced that he refuses to serve.

The 43-year-old navigator, who is married and has three children, has served in active reserves for sixteen years, and for the past five years has headed a leadership center and a pre-military preparatory program (mechina).

In a statement he released today, he wrote that throughout his service, he served under many governments that he did not vote for, but he always had confidence in the system and the security considerations.

He added that since October 7th, he continued to serve without hesitation out of a sense of mission.

However, today he informed his squadron commander that he could not continue, noting: "This morning I broke down. At a point when the state is once again abandoning its citizens knowingly and in broad daylight, at a point where cynical and cold political considerations outweigh all other considerations, at a point where human life has lost its value, at a point where a government attacks its gatekeepers in every possible way, at a point where the king has become more important than the kingdom – no more."

Following his announcement, the IDF announced the immediate and permanent termination of his service.

Most all of the pre-IDF Mechinah programs are indoctrination centers which are to strengthen religious soldiers loyalty to the State that began in Kindergarten. When I was teaching, I did what I could to steer students away from Mechinot. Other teachers joined me, as we were at a [now defunct] somewhat indenpendent, Torani yeshiva high school. Rabin memorial education materials received went directly into the trash, the rosh yeshiva and faculty supported soldiers refusing orders to throw Jews out of their homes, etc.

The Hesder Yeshivah program was the preferred option at the time to encourage students to join. It seemed that MK Elazar Stern, former IDF Personnel Chief, worked to dismantle this program. Stern was also one of those running logistics for then Prime Minister Sharon's Disengagement Plan Expulsion of Jews from Gaza in 2005/תשס״ה.

The mamlakhti concept of diehard loyalism to the State in the extreme, must be brought to light. Jews must eventually wake up and realize that you can be a Torah loyalist OR a State loyalist, and not both. Every time I believe that the conflicts between the two have become even more obvious, some other sort of programming -- like a convenient war -- comes into play to keep control over the masses.

Does anyone have any idea what this soldier is talking about here?

• Is he upset because he believes the hostages are being abandoned?
• Is he upset because he has finally realized that the government has been doing a half-hearted job protecting its citizens, preferring to kowtow to the U. S. and other nations?
• Is he upset because he has finally realized that his fellow IDF soldiers are being sacrificed needlessly?

Am I the only one who cannot understand Arutz 7's poorly presented articles? Well, in this case, I must admit that the Hebrew is also ambiguous. It was suggested that this vagueness is purposeful. I agree. 

This soldier, Alon Gur, is presumably religious, so he should know that pidyon shvuin (redemption of the captive) is not performed if the price is too high. The Gilad Shalit deal opened the flood gates, as we all knew it would.

At first, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about a Mechinah administrator, who "continued to serve without hesitation," breaking through his programming, in order to say "no more."

Maybe the Kaplan Group or Barak's people got to him. Who knows? ...not that I am supported of Netanyahu or anything. I was just wondering how significant this soldiers resignation was.

I guess we shall soon see.

In the meantime it is important to emphasize that Alon Gur's consequences are nothing compared to what soldiers who, in 2005 refused to throw Jews out of their homes in Gaza. Granted those soldiers were in compulsory service. Nevertheless...

ביום שלאחר הפסיקה של בית המשפט העליון, שלפיה ניתן לקיים תפילה בהפרדה מגדרית בגן מאיר בתל אביב, הודיע הבוקר (יום ה') ארגון "ראש יהודי" כי בעקבות חשש מפרובוקציות – התפילה תתקיים בבית כנסת ברחוב בר כוכבא ולא במרחב הפתוח....

עשר אגורות (2¢):
אתם כבר שמעתם על ביטול תפילות יום הכיפורים הציבוריות בתל אביב. בשנה שעברה היו עימותים שהפריעו למשתתפים להתפלל בתפילות ציבוריות יום כיפור.

סגנית ראש עיריית תל אביב מיטל להבי מתחה ביקורת על יוזמת התפילות הללו מבחינת ראש גלות מערבית הרגיל, כלומר ראש לא יהודי, מבחינת השקפה שהיא ושאר התינוקות הנשבות וצאצאי הערב רב כל כך דבוקים בה. מי יכול להבחין בין מי זה למי הוא בימים אלה?

"75 שנה בתל אביב חיים בשלום יהודים, ערבים, חילונים ודתיים. והדתיים, יש להם פה את כל מרחב הפעולה, יש פה מעל ל-530 בתי כנסת, והעירייה תומכת באירועים הדתיים, כמו שהיא תומכת גם באירועי תרבות. אנחנו מקצים הרבה מאוד שטחים לטובת הנושא של דת. אם נדבר דווקא על אפליה ועל הדרה, אז אני חושבת שבמדינת ישראל מי שסובל מאפליה זה המוסדות הרפורמיים, הקונסרבטיביים, הם לא מקבלים תמיכות, לא ממשרד הדתות, לא מהמועצה הדתית. אז לומר שהאורתודוקסיה סובלת, כשהיא זוכה בכל כך הרבה תקציבים, בכל כך הרבה הכרה? היא אפילו הפכה להיות היהדות הרשמית של המדינה, במקום שגם היהדות הפלורליסטית תהיה".

כפירת סמכות התורה שבעל פה, הברירה והבחירה של איזה מצוות לקיים ואיך לפי דעתם מוכיחות שהתנועה הרפורמית אינה יהדות בכלל.

להאמין בחפותו של התנועה הקוסרבטיבית היא משחקת במצוות. מבחינת חשוד בה אז היא מסלפת מצוות או מתעלמת ממה שהיא לא אוהבת. התבטאות השיטה גם לא יהדות. שאלה נוספת האם מנהיגי התנועה הקוסרבטיבית באמת מאמינים שלוועדם לענייני חוקים ותקנים יש מעמד של הסנהדרין? סתם מסוקרן.

למרות מסע הפרסום העצום שלוחץ ליהודים לקבל שקיימים כל מיני זרמים דתיים ביהודות אין דבר כזה.

לא יכול להיות שסגנית ראש העיר מדברת על יהדות, אלא על הדת האזרחית של הדמוקרטיה. לצערנו, הרבה יהודים גם מאמינים בה. האם אתם זוכרים את החג המפורסם שלנו שנקרא חנוכה? באילו יהודים נלחמו אחד בשני על הדת? השמאל ואפילו של הימין המתון ממשיכים ללסלף את משמעות החג. ואנו ממשיכים להאבק אחד עם השני. המתיוונים למען הדמוקרטיה ושומרי תורה ומצוות למען היהדות.

בשבוע שקדם למתקפה הרצחנית של חמאס בעוטף עזה מדינת ישראל סערה סביב החשש מהתנגשויות שילוו את הקפות שמחת תורה, וזאת בעקבות עימותים קודמים שפרצו בתפילות יום הכיפורים. עד לאחרונה, טראומת המלחמה המתמשכת דחקה את האירועים הסוערים הללו לשולי הזיכרון, אבל עתירה שהגישה לאחרונה עמותת ראש יהודי בראשות ישראל זעירא, המבקשת שבית המשפט יורה לעיריית תל אביב להתיר לה לארגן את תפילות יום הכיפורים המתקרב בהפרדה מגדרית, החזירה את הנושא לסדר היום הלאומי....

תירוש ממשיכה לכתוב על הניסיונות של הממשלה לפגוע בהפרדת הרשויות. לדתי לא מדויק איך היא מציגה את הענייין. מבחינתי הנה הסיפור האמיתי.

הפרדת הרשויות כביכול הגיעה לקצה בשנות ה-90 ברגע שנשיא בית המשפט העליון דאז אהרון ברק יישם את תכניתו. התכנית כל כך ערמומית שאפילו למבריקים בממשלת ישראל פיספסו את הגעתה, עד שהיה מאוחר מדי להפוך אותה.

אז לבסוף, בדצמבר 2022, הוקמה ממשלה שנבחרה באופן דמוקרטי שהבטיחה רפורמה בשיפוט לקראת הבחירות, ובכך יכולה לעצור את אליגרכית (שלטון המעטים על הרבים על ידי) בית המשפט העליון של ישראל.

שר המשפטים יריב לוין (הליכוד) הוביל אז את ניסיון להגביל את כוח ההשתלטות מדי של בית המשפט העליון. במהלך השנים בית המשפט העליון התערב בענייני הדת כולל הכשרות, הגיור, ולאחרונה למי יש זכות להצביע בבחירות לרבנים הראשיים למדינה, והיום איך יהודים מוכרחים להתפלל.

ביוני, הותר למוסלמים לערוך תפילה עם הפרדה מגדרית בתל-אביב לרגל חג עיד אל-אדחא. עוד עלבון יותר מהמוסר הכפול הזה הוא שתמיכה בעיד אל-אדחא תומכת אמונתו של המוסלמי שאברהם היה מוכן להקריב את בנו ישמעאל ולא יצחק, שהיא כפירה בתורה.

האם הדוגמה החצופה הזו לסטנדרטים כפולים מלמדת על כוונת בג"ץ להגדיר מהי יהדות ומהי לא?

ההצעה הראשונה מתוך שלוש לרפורמה שיפוטית המבטלת את סעיף הסבירות, עברה. סעיף הסבירות מאפשר לבית המשפט העליון לבטל כל חוק שהתקבל בכנסת שנבחר בבחירות דמוקרטיות אם השופטים חושבים [לדעתם] שהוא לא סביר.

לא הפתיע אף אחד שבית המשפט העליון ביטל את ביטול סעיף הסבירות על ידי הכנסת.

זמן קצר לאחר מכן, חדרו לישראל בסך הכל 6,000 אנשי חמאס ואזרחים פסבדוסטינים וביצעו טבח. הם רצחו את 1,139 איש, חטפו 250 בני ערובה, רבים מהם כבר נרצחו, ושיגור אלפי הרקטות לדרום ישראל.

הוקמה ממשלת חירום, ובמסגרת ההסכם אסור לכנסת להעלות נושאים שאינם ממש קשורים למלחמה, כגון הרפורמה השיפוטית. איזה מקריות!

לכן, הממשלה שנבחרה באופן דמוקרטי, שהתחילה לממש את הבטחתה לאלה שהצביעו בה לשלטון, חזרה לנקודת ההתחלה.

נראה שיופי תירוש חובת שהרפורמה השיפוטית מסתירה את קידום הכיבוש המשיחי, כפי שמעידות תפילות עם מחיצה בין גברים לנשים המתקיימות במרחבים ציבוריים.

הלוואי ויכול להסכים איתה. הכוחות המשיחיים שהיא רואה, אני רואה כרבנים שמנסים בכל כוחם להגיע ליהודים חסרי זכויות או מאוכזבים כדי לעודד אותם לחזור למורשת עמם. אם תירוש רוצה לראות "כוחות משיחיים" אז עליה לבקר בישובים מסוימים בשומרון.

לדעתי פסיקת בבית המשפט העליון לגבי תפילות יום הכיפור שעבר במרחב ציבורי והפשרה המְצֻוָּה, וביטול האירוע אחר מכן, אני רואה בו את קטע התורה הבא שמנותק לא מ"האופי היהודי" של מדינת ישראל, אלא מעצם קיומה כמשהו יהודי בכלל.

ביטול אירוע התפילות מאכזב, אבל מובן. אני לא מעריך אף אחת מההתנצלות, וגם לא את עניפת דגל האחדות כביכול. אני מעדיף עניפת דגל של קבלת פנים, זה לצד זה בעידוד חזרה בתשובה. כנראה המארגנים לא רצו שיום הכיפורים יהפוך למאבק ציבורי ואז מאפשר חילול השם ברבים.

הבשורות הטובות היחידות שיצאו מזה הן שאף אחד לא יכול להצהיר שפסיקת בית המשפט העליון כניצחון על ידי הדתיים ולמען הדתיים. ברור שיש כאלה שהיו רוצים להאמין היא ניצחון.

בואו נראה את מה יקרה בשנה הבאה. למרות שסביר להניח שטקסי הדלקת נרות חנוכה לא יתקיימו עם הפרדה מגדרית, יש האפשרות של הפגנות נגד טקסים דתיים יהודיים המתקיימים במרחב ציבורי, דגש על יהודיים. , כל שכן בתל אביב.

האמת היא יש עוד בשורות טובות לדווח. יש הרבה יותר דתיים בעליל מתגוררים בתל אביב, מאשר כשגרתי שם בשנים תשנ״ז-נ״ט/1997-99.

Many of you have already heard about the cancelation of public Yom Kippur prayers in Tel-Aviv. Last year's prayers in Dizengoff Square were marked by clashes, disrupting Jews from praying on the holiest day of our calendar.

Tel Aviv Deputy Mayor Meital Lehavi ranted about the usual Western, ie. non-Jewish, values she and other tinoq shenishba and erev rav descendants hold so dear. Who can tell who is who these days?

“For 75 years in Tel Aviv, Jews, Arabs, secular, and religious people have lived together peacefully. The religious community here has all the space it needs, with more than 530 synagogues, and the city supports religious events just as it supports cultural events. We allocate substantial spaces for religious purposes. If we want to talk about discrimination and exclusion, I’d argue that it’s the Reform and Conservative institutions in Israel that face discrimination. They receive no support from the Religious Services Ministry or the local religious council. So, to claim that Orthodoxy is suffering when it receives so much funding and recognition, to the point that it has become the state’s official form of Judaism, while pluralistic Judaism is sidelined, is simply inaccurate."

The denial of the authority of the Oral Torah, the picking and choosing aspects of Torah of the Reform Movement is not Judaism.

At best the Conservative Movement seems to play with mitzvoth (Torah commandments), and at worst distort or ignore mitzvoth which they do not like. This is also not Judaism. And by the way, do they really believe that their committee on Laws anStandards has the status of a Sanhedrin?. Asking for a friend.

In in spite of the huge publicity campaign forcing the notion of Jewish denominations, there is no such thing.

She is obviously not talking about Judaism, rather she must be speaking about the civil religion of Democracy. Unfortunately, so many Jews believe that she it. Remember that [in]famous holiday of ours called Hanukkah? In which Jews fought each other over religion? In spite of the left's and moderate right's perpetuale attempts to whitewash the holiday, and the ignorance of most Jews, having fallen prey to the left's indoctrination, are still fighting.

During the week before Hamas' murderous attack on the Gaza border communities on October 7, a major controversy was roiling Israel. It concerned the fear of clashes during the then-upcoming celebrations of Simhat Torah that never took place because the war broke out. About two weeks before that festival, Yom Kippur prayers held in Tel Aviv highlighted the political tension between anti-Netanyahu protesters and supporters of the prime minister. The former had been flooding the streets for months, protesting the government's attempts to neuter the Supreme Court and to erode the separation of powers....

I'll end this quote right here, due to what I believe to be an imprecise representation of the attempts at Judicial Reform. Here is the real story, in my view.

The so-called separation of powers met the beginning of its end in the 1990s with then Chief Justice Aharon Barak's implementation of his long game coup d'etat. This sneaked up on even the brightest within the Israeli government, until it was too late to turn it around.

Then finally, in December, 2022, a democratically elected government which had promised Judicial Reform, and thus putting a stop to the oligarchy that is Israel's High Court, was installed.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin (Likud) then led the attempted neutering reining in of the High Court's overreaching power, which included the religious realm, having stuck its noise into the issues of kosher certification, conversion, just recently who should choose the State's Chief Rabbis, and now how Jews should pray.

In June, Muslims were allowed a gender-segregated prayer event in Tel-Aviv for the Id Al-Adha holiday. Even more of a slap in the face of observant Jews is that Id Al-Adha commemorates the Muslim's belief that Abraham offered Ishmael to be sacrificed, a direct contradiction of the Torah.

Is this brazen example of double standards, indicative of what appears to be Israel's High Court intention to define what Judaism is.

The first of three Judicial Reform proposals, the repeal of the Reasonableness Clause, passed. The Reasonableness Clause allowed the High Court essential to strike down any law a majority of the democratically-elected Knesset (parliament) had passed.

The High Court struck down the Knesset's repeal of the clause. No surprises there. 

Shortly afterwards, Israel was infiltrated by a total of 6,000 Hamas members and Pseudostinian civilians, resulting 1,139 deaths, 250 hostages, many of them have already been killed, and the thousands of rockets into the South of Israel. An emergency government was formed, and as part of the agreement, the Knesset may not bring up any issues unrelated to the war, such as the Judicial Reform proposals. How convenient!

So, now the democratically-elected government which fulfilled its promise to those who voted it into power, is back to square one.

In contrast, Yofi Tirosh seems to see Judicial Reform as cover for advancement of Messianic occupation, as evidenced by gender segregated prayer taking place in public spaces. I actually wish that I could agree with her. But what she sees as messianic forces, I see as rabbis who are trying their best to reach disenfranchised Jews to encourage them to give their people's heritage a chance. If Tirosh wants to see "messianic forces," she should visit certain towns in Samaria.

As far as the High Court's ruling of a compromise, and the public prayer event's cancelation goes, I see it as next fragment of Torah chipped away not from the State of Israel's "Jewish character," but from its very existence as a Jewish entity.

The cancellation was disappointing, but understandable. Although I do not appreciate any of the apologetics, nor the banner of unity, as opposed to a banner of welcome, side by side with the encouragement of collective teshuvah (repentance), the organizers did not want Yom Kippur to turn into a public fight, and potential hillul HaShem (desecration of The Almighty's name).

The only good news to come out of this was that no one could get away with branding the High Court's ruling as a victory for and by religious Jews. Although I am sure that there were some who would have liked to.

Stay tuned to see what happens next year. Although Hanukkah candle lightings will unlikely attempt any gender-segregation, do not discount the possibility of protests against public, Jewish observance, emphasis on Jewish, not in Tel-Aviv.

I guess there is more good news to report, there are countlessly more visibly religious Jews residing in Tel-Aviv, than when I lived there in תפנ״ז-תשפנ״ט/1997-1999.

Let us prayer that this trend continues, undermining the Erev Rav's program to decrease Jewish influence and increase its voter base.
