"The Bennett plan is worse than former minister Moshe Nissim's law, and Nissim's law is bad, you will understand what he is talking about, the Tzohar law," says an official in the Rabbinate involved in conversion.

According to Bennett, "There is a severe problem, a time bomb, of half a million Israelis who live as Jews just like us, feel Jewish, serve in combat units, but are not properly Jewish and therefore not Jewish. Each year 5,000 people are born who "feel Jewish" just like these. " (cont.)

אפשר לבקר את נפתלי בנט בקלות (אני מבקר אותו כל הזמן), אבל לפי מה שאני שמעתי ממורים מכל מיני מגזרים ומכל רחבי הארץ, בנט לא היה נורא בתור שר החינוך. אני לא שמעתי הרבה תלונות על העדפה או על אפליה.

ועכשיו, הרב רפי פרץ בתור שר החינוך? בעיקר אני מפחד מהחינוך הממלכתי חזק שאני מצפה שהוא ידגיש בכיתות של הילדים שלנו. כלומר נאמנות של המדינה שווה לנאמנות של הקדוש ברוך הוא. אני מצפה שהעניין של סירוב פקודות צה"ל הנוגדות את התורה יימחק לחלוטין מהראשים שלהם. את הרעיון שאין דבר כסתירה חוקי התורה לחוקי מדינת ישראל יאכילו לילדים בכוח.

למתנחלים (מתנחלים אמיתיים, לא תושבי הפרברים), המעיזים לפתוח בית ספר פרטי חדש או אפילו בית ספר מוכר ולא רשום יהיו יותר אתגרים וקשיים מהיום. הישיבות הנותנות שיעורים על ענייני התורה נוגדי נאמנות שלמה למדינת ישראל אפילו באופן תאורטי יהיו בסיכון לכיבוש על ידי הממשלה ולהסגר, כמו שעשו לישיבת עוד יוסף חי שביצהר בשומרן. ענייני התורה כגון הל׳ עבודה זרה וחוקי הגוים והל׳ חוקי מלכים ומלחמותיהם של הרמב״ם ז״ל ימשיכו להסלף או להמחק לחלוטין מלימודים בישיבות. ההסכם על "הסטטוס קוו בין דת למדינה" רק גורם לי לפחד עוד יותר.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allocated MK Bezalel Smotrich the transportation ministry and MK Rafi Peretz the education ministry, both from Union of Right-Wing Parties.

The two will hold temporary positions, until the September 17 elections. Both sides discussed and agreed on keeping the current status quo between religion and state.

Say what you will about Naftali Bennett (...and I say plenty about him), but from what my sources tell me, he wasn't half bad as Minister of Education. For the most part, neither secular, State religious, nor Haredi communities claimed favoritism, and no one claimed to have been pressured or ignored.

Now, Rabbi Rafi Peretz as Minister of Education? The first fear which pops into my mind regarding Rafi Peretz as Minister of Education is the strengthened indoctrination of our children into diehard State loyalty. I believe that the concept of refusing IDF orders which violate the Torah will not be increasingly demonized. Rather this concept will be erased from memory completely. The idea that there can ever be a conflict between the Torah and Israeli State law will become a mantra drilled into kids' heads, even more than it already is.

Settlers (real settlers, not suburbanites) daring to open semi-private schools will be increasingly scrutinized. Yeshivas even thinking about teaching anything controversial, such as the Mishneh Torah's Laws of Avodah Zarah or Laws of Kings and their Wars, will be taken over, or simply shut down. The agreement on "status quo between religion and state" only strengths my fears.

If you're one of these quasi-"religious right-wingers," who conveniently interprets away, or simply ignores halakhoth (Torah laws) when convenient or lucrative (A-hem!) to do so, such as the negative commandment of Lo Techonem (Deut. 7:2), then you're not going to care about Betzalel Smotrich's apparent chumminess with Christians, who are, in my opinion, attempting to gain a foothold on our Land. In fact, you may even cheer it on. However, you might (emphasis on the word "might") be able to see how Smotrich is possibly being set up as a scapegoat.

These days, the Minister of Transportation is the probably worst position to hold. The recent workers' strikes, Shabbat violation controversy, and the incessant problems with the not so new Jerusalem - Ben Gurion Airport "speed train" are only a few of the reasons why Smotrich looks like he is being set up for failure. Either Smotrich believes he can handle this position with all of its volatility anyway, has a few political tricks up his sleeve (I doubt it), or he really is that clueless.

Arutz 7: 'We're shoving Israel into the haters' faces' Rabbi Shmuley Boteach joins marchers at Celebrate Israel event in New York, calls for similar parades in European capitals.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach urged the Germany government to organize a parade in support of the State of Israel, modeled on the “Celebrate Israel” parade in New York on Sunday.

Speaking with Arutz Sheva on the sidelines of the march, Rabbi Boteach said the parade was not only an affirmation of support for the Jewish state, but a strong message against the rising tide of anti-Semitism. 

"The message is that people love Israel and support Israel. The message is that all the haters of Israel is that we're shoving it in their face, their disgusting hatred of Israel, this new form of anti-Semitism that is overtaking over the globe; that we're not going to be silent. We're going to be proud, we're going to be public, we're going to be vocal."

Noting the recent comments by the German government’s anti-Semitism commissioner advising Jews not to wear kippot [yarmulkes or skullcaps] in public, Rabbi Boteach called for pro-Israel parades across Europe, and suggested the German government organize its own such parade in Berlin.

"We've got to have a Celebrate Israel Parade in the streets of Paris, in the streets of London, in the streets of Madrid, the streets of Lisbon. It has got to be absolutely everywhere. New York has two-and-a-half million Jews, I get it. But there should be parades for Israel anywhere where people love freedom, where people love democracy, especially in this age."

"In Germany, they're saying people can't wear their yarmulkes. Can you imagine? Here we're wearing our kippot, we're holding Israeli flags, we're being very proud. I would really encourage the government of Germany to atone for that horrible advice that Jews hide their Jewishness, the government of Germany should organize a salute to Israel parade."

Most of you know that I avoid citing Arutz 7 like the plague. But, if they publish something which no one else has...

Anyway, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, the best way to "show 'em" is to move to Israel. What's your excuse this time for not joining us on the real front lines?

I think he just visited Israel with Roseanne Barr, didn't he? Makes sense. Photo ops, and airtime. Shmuley Boteach is a proverbial publicity... enthusiast. Yes. We're calling him that, but wonder if you thought I might insert an alternative noun.

But, if Roseanne gets something out of it, we shouldn't damn the relationship or his actions. For all I know he visits Israel all the time. (Sorry, Shmuley, but I don't follow your every move.) But, has he planted down roots here yet?

Not too long ago, he was running for political office in New Jersey. I responded to his campaign with One Reason you Should not Vote for Shmuley Boteach.

Israel is the only true homeland of the Jewish People. Now that the gates have been opened, there is really no excuse for anyone identifying as religious and Zionist. I sincerely doubt that Boteach shares the Satmar and Neturei Karta philosophy of needing to be directly be brought back by HaShem. But who knows?

What I just don't get is this investment of time, energy, and money in country which is not yours. This is the fundamental obstacle in Jewish mentality we must tackle, and finally rid ourselves and our educational systems of it.

Incidentally this "wait for Mashiah to come and do all the work" attitude only seems to have appeared in our literature for not more than 500 years. Learning , praying, saying tehillim and performing mitzvoth (commandments) are all important, but even as Rabbi Yoel z"l of Satmar said, the correct place for the performance of mitzvoth is Eretz Yisrael. Of course, he is not the only one. Just sayin'.

But, I digress...

So, maybe Shmuley Boteach believes he is helping the Jewish People by remaining behind. But, this co-dependence on what non-Jews think of us crap has got to stop. We need to be more concerned about what we think of ourselves, and dare I say, what The Holy One, Blessed Be He thinks of us.

Assuming this attack actually took place the way they say it did, there is still a double standard.

Arabs get off easy for attacks much worse than this. And even when they don't, they still have televisions in each of their cells and holiday meals paid for by the taxes of the very Jews they were convicted of attacking.

And what was Raz Amitzur's so-called "crime?"

Protecting Jewish girls from Arab men, and preventing their eventual doom through intermarriage. What used to be a given, Jews marrying Jews, is now considered "racist" and an "infringement on individual rights."

Of course, the Erev Rav powers that be do not like anything getting in the way of intermarriage, as it is one of the surest ways to assimilate the Jewish People into a greater globalist society. Erev (ערב) is in fact the root word for "mix," as in intermingling or mixing together.

קרוב משפחתו של הגבר בן ה-46 שנדקר הבוקר (יום ד') ברמת השרון סיפר ל-ynet כי מצבו יציב, וכי הוא בהכרה. "אני מקווה שהוא יהיה בסדר. הוא יצא לרוץ את ריצת הבוקר שלו, וחזר לביתו דרך השדות הסמוכים לו". לדבריו, "ברחוב המלאכה רץ אחריו מחבל ערבי, צעק אללה אכבר ודקר אותו שלוש פעמים בגב". לפי המשטרה לא ברור עדיין אם מדובר בפיגוע וכל הכיוונים נמצאים בבדיקה. קרוב המשפחה הוסיף: "אני יודע שאנשי שב"כ נמצאים איתו, ושיש להם תמונות של המחבל. אני מקווה שהמחבל ייתפס". לדבריו, "לא יכול להיות שאדם הולך ברחוב ברמת השרון ומישהו תוקע לו סכין בגב".

ד"ר רם שגיא, סגן מנהל בית החולים בילינסון שאליו פונה הגבר שנדקר התייחס למצבו: "הפצוע עבר הערכה בחדר הטראומה כולל בדיקת דימות ועלה להמשך טיפול והשגחה ביחידה לטיפול נמרץ כללי". הוא הוסיף כי "הוא בהכרה ומוגדר במצב בינוני".

מוקדם יותר קראה המשטרה לציבור לסייע באיתור הדוקר, ופרסמה גם את תמונתו. כוחות משטרה גדולים משתתפים בסריקות אחר החשוד, ומחסומים הוצבו בכבישים באזור. כמו כן, מסוק משטרתי הוזנק לסייע בחיפושים. (המשך...)

היה עוד פיגוע אתמול. הבנתם את זה כבר. אבל האם ידעתם שהפיגוע קרה בעיר היוקרתית רמת השרון הנמצאת צמוד לצפון תל אביב?

אולי היהודים המגוררים באזור צפון תל אביב סוף סוף יתעוררו לסכנות של הטרור הערבי?

כנראה שלא.

אלא לפי הנסיון שלי יקראו לפיגוע הזה משהו חריג, או על ידי אדם לא יציב נפשית, או על ידי פושע ולכן הפיגוע לא מובן כנבצע בכוונה לאומית.

A relative of the victim - who was taken to a hospital in a moderate condition - says the 'Arab terrorist' shouted Allahu Akbar' as he stabbed the 46-year-old three times; police say all motives are being investigated

One person was moderately hurt Wednesday morning in a stabbing attack in central Israeli city of Ramat Hasharon. The attack might have been nationalistically motivated after a victim’s relative said the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he stabbed him. 

The 46-year-old victim sustained moderate wounds to his upper body and was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. The hospital said the victim is fully conscious and is in a stable condition.

“He went out on a morning run … an Arab terrorist ran after him in the HaMelacha Street, shouted Allahu Akbar and stabbed him three times,” said the relative in an interview with Ynet. (cont.)

There was a terror attack yesterday. You figured that one out. But, what you may not have known was that it took place in the upscale town of Ramat HaSharon, which borders Tel-Aviv to the north.

So, maybe this time the Northern Tel-Aviv Jews will wake up to the dangers of Arab terror, now that they have been hit again?

I doubt it.

Either yesterday's attack will be called a freak incident, or by a mentally unstable person, or by a criminal and so the attack was not nationalistically motivated.

So much for today's wake up call.
