Hero Or Criminal? Israeli Truck Driver Blocks Supplies from Reaching Gaza

Nana10: A Truck Driver blocked the crossing of goods into Gaza at Kerem Shalom: "I cannot go to the store because of the explosions."
Almog Boqer, July 13, 2014

(Photo: Nana10 Screen Shot)

Daniel Metrie, a resident of the area, stopped the flow of goods into the Gaza Strip with his truck. "I will block the crossing into Gaza, as I see fit. May the better thug win."

This morning (Sunday), Daniel Matari, a resident of Kerem Shalom, stopped the passage into the Gaza Strip with his truck, through which the goods are delivered to millions of civilians in Gaza.

Matari arrived in the morning, truck in possession, and parked his vehicle against the flow of traffic, blocking the passage, side to side, a passage through which 170 trucks have been entering each day, bringing medical equipment and food to Gaza residents. (cont.)

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Obviously, I believe that Daniel Metrie is a hero. Even though the only heroic act he appears to be performing is civil disobedience.

Daniel Metrie
It is difficult for me, and hopefully difficult for any normal and non-suicidal person, to fathom that this truck driver could be considered a criminal. Even though he may have violated Israeli law. However, there are certainly those out there who would consider him a criminal for this very reason, he violated the "holy" laws of the "holy" state. Such finger-pointers include, but are not necessarily limited to, many members of the Israeli government, the government's puppet "rabbis" and their brain-dead followers, and delusional, self-hating leftists.

"At night, my children cry, but the goods pass" [into Gaza] - Daniel Metrie (YNET)

You would have to be co-dependent, confused, brain-dead, delusion, or self-hating not to identify with Daniel Metrie, and not to identify him as a hero.

May more heroes like Daniel Metrie arise from Israel!

Rabbi Eliyokim Levanon: Lost In Translation?

ערב שרב קודש פר׳ פינחס תשע״ד

JPost.com: Chief Rabbis condemn killing of Abu Khdeir as 'outrageous murder'
Jeremy Sharon, July 7, 2014

Rabbi Levanon says it is biblical precept to 'eradicate evil from your midst;'says death penalty should also be used for Jewish teens' murderers.

Rabbi Eliyakim Levanon

...And on Sunday night, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, one of the leading rabbis of the settlements in Judea and Samaria, called for the imposition of the death penalty on the murderers of Abu Khdeir.

Speaking to Walla news website, Levanon said Jewish law is not merciful when dealing with "such a cruel murder," regardless of whether the victim was Jewish or not.

"There is an obligation to give them the death penalty, in order to fulfill the [Biblical precept of] 'you shall eradicate the evil from your midst," the rabbi said.

"The State of Israel and its operational arms, the IDF and the security services are required and commanded to wage war against terror without mercy, until it has been expunged from the world," adding that the murderers of Gil'ad Shaar, Eyal Yifrah and Naftali Fraenkel should also receive the death penalty. (cont.)

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Mohamed Abu Khdeir
giving the "three finger" salute
Let me take the opportunity to state the objectives of this post very clearly:

1. To express my confusion over Rabbi Levanon's opinion.

2. To ask questions regarding his opinion, and to put forth halakhic sources to support such queries.

3. To encourage discussion on his stated opinion.
"...the murderers of Gil'ad Shaar, Eyal Yifrah and Naftali Fraenkel should also receive the death penalty."

How very "fair" of Rabbi Levanon. But does his halakhic logic stand up to scrutiny?

Ramba"m Laws of the Murderer and Guarding a Life 2:10
...A Jew who kills a non-Jewish resident alien is not put to death by a court, as it says And if a man come purposely upon his neighbor,..." (Ex. 21:14); and one does not need to say that one is not killed over [killing] a goy....

כסף משנה (הפירוש של בית יוסף על משנה תורה): שכתב רבינו אינו נהרג עליו בב״ד כלומר אבל נהרג בדיני שמיים חייב.

Kesef Mishnah (Beth Yosef's commentary on the Ramba"m's Mishneh Torah): That which Rabbenu (Ramba"m) has written "he is not killed by a rabbinical court," is to say that he is obligated to be put to death by Heaven.

Others write that the judgment is passed on to the Heavenly Court for adjudication on such matters. Yet, the bottom line appears to be that the earthy bound, Jewish court, even more so, a court filled with members disqualified as kosher judges, cannot put a Jew to death who has been found to have killed even a non-Jewish resident alien, ie. "kosher" goy.

However, Rabbi Levanon's position that it would be permissible to issue the death penalty against a Jew who has been found guilty of killing a goy, even though a Sanhedrin does not currently stand, appears to be based on the following:
רמב"ם הלכות רוצח ושמירת נפש פרק ב,ד
ובכל אלו הרצחנים וכיוצא בהן שאינן מחוייבים מיתת בית דין--אם רצה מלך ישראל להורגם בדין המלכות ותקנת העולם, הרשות בידו. וכן אם ראו בית דין להרוג אותן בהוראת שעה--אם הייתה השעה צריכה לכך, הרי יש להם רשות כפי מה שיראו.
Ramba"m Laws of the Murderer and Guarding a Life 2:4
And in each of these, murderers and such who are not obligated to be put to death -- if the King of Israel wants to kill them, the authority is in his hands. And so, if the court saw fit to kill them under temporary order -- if the time [is determined to] requires it, then they have the authority according to what they see.

Yet, this hopefully begs the question, what King? The last time I checked, we did not have any King besides The Almighty God Himself ruling over us.

Is Rabbi Levanon suggesting that the Israeli Government, even though not a proper, Jewish (Torah) government, unless you count cosmetics and window dressing, has the status of a King of Israel?

I have heard that there are mamlakhtim (diehard State-loyalists) who believe that the K'nesseth serves as the stand-in for the King. Even though the K'nesseth itself is certainly filled mostly with members who are disqualified from serving as King.

And the courts? Rabbi Levanon puts the fate of a Jew in the hands of these Erev Rav courts? That evidence from some of Israel's "security agencies" can be trusted fully. Even though they are from functioning with transparency? May God save us from ourselves!

Does he really want to trust that the death penalty will be implemented "fairly" across the board? He could not possibly believe that the current Israeli Justice System will deal with boys with large kippos and payos running around hill tops the same way they deal with Arabs, or better yet, rich, secular, Ashkenazy kids from North Tel-Aviv?

Furthermore, if Rabbi Levanon believes that the killing of an Arab boy by some misguided, young men (assuming this is what actually occurred) to be evil, and we are commanded to wipe out evil from our midst, does that mean he for the wiping out of all other manifestations of evil?

The Christians on a hilltop next to Har Brachah, who have caused all of the Jewish residents except for one to leave, are now building a "worship tent." Is this avodah zarah (foreign/forbidden worship) not evil to be wiped out?

Rabbi Eliezer Melamed gave them permission to do so,...permission to set up a place of avodah zarah. Is this also not evil?

I suppose the one man's evil is another man's bank account.

What about the Arabs who kidnap Jewish women to "marry" them, hold them hostage, and then proceed to torture them inside the unreachable confines of Yehudah, Shomron, or Azza?

What about the Bedouin protection racket in the Negev?

Dare I mention all of the other politically-incorrect examples of "evil" mapped out by the Torah?

Furthermore, I find the idea of passing a new law to cover a "crime" already committed to be totally counter to the democratic ideals, the State of Israel claims to profess.

Why hasn't the death penalty been passed to apply to Arab murderers already? Or even applied only to "mass-murderers?"

Israel is hardly a democracy. It is more like a deMOCKracy, or when it goes after Jews for daring to follow The Almighty over the State, a DEMONacracy.

And the State's rabbis, trying to mash together Hellenist democracy with true Torah governance?

The State's rabbis are just that, the STATE's rabbis.

This all being said, perhaps Rabbi Levanon deserves the benefit of the doubt, and his true opinions were just lost in translation.

Sorry, but I seriously doubt that.

I also seriously doubt that he thought this through to the possible end results,...more than a handful of Jews being killed at the hand of "Jews," in the name of justice.

Will the International Community at least Hear the Cries of a Silly Leftist?

י״ג לחודש הרביעי תשע״ד

I was directed to the following Facebook status, which was posted on Life In Israel.

Gershon Baskin ((Hebrew: גרשון בסקין‎), born in NY in 1956) Is the founder and Co-Chairman of IPCRI - Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information, (in 2014 IPCRI was "rebranded" by its new co-directors and now stands for "Israel Palestine Creative Regional Initiatives") dedicated to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the basis of "two-states for two peoples" solution.[1] He is a social and political activist and a researcher of the Israeli Palestinian conflict and peace process. Baskin is a columnist for the Jerusalem Post. Baskin holds a Ph.D. in International relations from the University of Greenwich.

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Even though the commenter on Life In Israel, who suggested that Baskin was full of himself, and taking more credit than he deserves, is probably right, this is an interesting post. It is just the kind of attitude and post that one would think would turn heads and change minds. But, it won't.

Esau hates Ya'aqov and Yishmael hates Ya'aqov.

We stand alone. We need to accept this already, and accept that our faith needs to be in The Almighty, and not in the "international community's" acceptance and validation of our existence

Hopefully, it will not take too much more of an increase in pain to get this though our thick skulls.

We need to stand on our own two feet. This will be difficult, but in the long term, good for us, both psychologically and spiritually.

In the meantime, Basking should be applauded for his efforts. Yep! That's right, applauded for his efforts. Even a silly leftist can get credit for attempting to save Jewish lives....

Even if it is for the wrong reasons.

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Well, it appears that we are at war. At least that is what a normal human being would. But, whoever said that the Israeli government was made up of normal human being. Self-destructive I would have to say.

Will people finally wake up to the fact that Arabs consider Tel-Aviv just as much fair game as Hevron Beth El or Yitzhar?

On the other hand, it would not surprise me if it was discovered that one or two missiles were "accidentally" let through, speculating on just how much sympathy from the "International Community they could garner.

In this map from January, 2009 (left), we can see that certain cities still have a perceived sense of "safety."

Not anymore. The map on the right shows those additional cities now threatened from the south.

Think about it. Only five and a half years ago, rockets from the south, from Gaza, only threatened only the south. Now, rockets from from Gaza threaten even the north.

These cities threatened by Gaza in the south do not currently include Nahariyya nor Nazareth. But, what happens when they rockets start launching from the north, from Lebanon and no doubt from Syria, once militants there get their acts together?

Simply put, there will be nowhere to run,...except for maybe out of Israel. (May God Prevent emigration!)

Perhaps the rockets will be part of the filtering out process. (May we all wake up, do teshuvah and merit to remain in Israel!)

Today I even heard stories of tour groups cancelling their reservations, and families making plans to leave.

And these were before today's barrage on the southern and central parts of Israel. Rather these decisions were attributed to the Arab riots, which have been spreading around Israel, during this Muslim month of Ramadan.

Then, of course, there are still troubles in South Tel-Aviv, with the so called "refugees" thieving, trashing, assaulting, mooching, you name it.

And what about Iran? I mean Iran is still right where it was a few months ago, right?

Missile range: Iran to Israel

Dare I mention the hidden, and not so hidden, threats: The Bedouin, the Black [non-] Hebrews, the Christians flowing in from the U. S.  and elsewhere, the U. S. Secretary of State itching to get some of their troops on the ground here, not to mention the latest wannabe Caliph and his crew, somewhere over in Iraq or Syria.

Well, I certainly do not intend to leave Israel, regardless of the current situation.

How could I, with the possibility of Ge'ulah playing out before my very eyes?!

Stay tuned for some more connecting of the dots!

Everything Is Upside Down: Jewish Fear of Arab Riots. Is Redemption on the Way?

מוצש״ק פר׳ בלק תשע״ד

Early last Wednesday morning the dead body of an Arab teenaged boy was found in the Jerusalem Forest.

Rumors immediately went flying around as to the cause of the boy's death.

Was it revenge for the murders of Eyal, Naftali, and Gil'ad hy"d?

Eyal Yifrah (19), Naftali Frenkel (16), Gil'ad Sha'ar (16)
God Avenge Their Blood!
Fourteen bullets were fired at the boy. Arabs enjoy emptying their cartridges.

Was his death the result of Arab clan wars?

Was his death an anti-gay hate crime? An "honor killing?" Or both? (There never seems to be a gay rights activist around when you need him.)

Shortly after the discovery of the body in the Jerusalem Forest, riots broken in Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, Beth Hanina and Shu'afat.

Rioting Arabs next to the light rail trench, bench used as part of their barricade.
Ahmad Gharabliah/AFP/Getty Images

During the rioting, the Arabs not only ripped out train tracks and destroyed their own light rail stations, but the dug up the designer brick work in order to arm themselves against Israeli police.

Ahmad Gharabliah/AFP/Getty Images

The expected extension of the light rail to Neveh Ya'aqov will now have to be postponed.

Will a new set of tracks bypassing these Arab neighborhoods now have to be built first?

Shouldn't this have been the route built in the first place?

Wouldn't want to appear racist now, would we?

The Arabs received quite a bit of benefit from the light rail. Yet, that did not stop them from demolishing it.

I predict that in a few days, all will conveniently forget that Arabs were responsible for the death of one of their own, and the lie that Jews were at fault for the loss of light rail service to Beth Hanina and Shu'afat will somehow turn into fact.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Prime Minister threatens vigilantes with the full power of the law.

A resident of Rishon LeTzion gets called into the police station for questioning, because he called on hi fellow Israelis to bring Israeli flags to the funerals of the three murdered boys. Not only that, but to convince him to come into the police station alone, he was lied to, told that he was involved in a traffic accident, and had to come into complete some paperwork (Rotter.net).

A 60 year old, Jewish woman was found dead outside of her Pisgath Ze'ev apartment. The news source to report on this incident was the Hotzoloh news site. Mainstream news sources ignore the story.

More Jews were arrested in the last week than Arabs.

The Israeli Government seems more concerned over its image, and avoiding a possible international incident, than over the safety of its own citizens who elected it into power.

Every is upside down and backwards. Ge'ulah, the Final Redemption, must surely be on its way! Please God.

Stay tuned, and don't give up!

Leave “International Law” to the Internationals. I’ll Take The Torah!

 מוצש״ק פר׳ בלק תשע״ד

For years I have seen excellent articles written about the Jewish claim to Israel, based on international laws, UN resolutions, declarations, conventions, and in depth analyses of all of the above.

The logic employed in such articles by academics such as Amb. John BoltonDaniel PipesEli HertzPaul EidelbergEliyakim HaetzniGuilio MeottiJ. P. Golbert, and many others, is impeccable,...irrefutable. Nuances of such international decrees and agreements have been picked through so thoroughly, it is amazing that everyone who follows this issue does not already have all of the relevant documents and commentary memorized.

Still others write articles with impassioned pleas to our "friends" in the international community, begging them to see that...
“If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?"
- William Shakespeare, The Merchant Of Venice, Act III, scene I

OK, so they leave out the revenge part. Don't want to add fuel to those nasty stereotypes of Israelis, do we? Too bad there isn't more truth to this last part than there actually is. If there were any truth to how "oppressive" and "violent" we might not actually be in the state of a continual political mess we have been in since at least the 1970s.

It is difficult for me to fathom just how there can still be a question as to the State of Israel's right to exist, not to mention, Israel's right to exist as a Jewish country, 66 years after its inception.

Why is it racist for Jews to have a country, one in which many more than just Jews reside, yet Saudi Arabia's ban on the entrance of Jews through its border falls by the waste side?

Sudanese refugees have flooded the streets of South Tel-Aviv and other areas of the country. Israel is not only called racist for suggesting that they remain here only temporarily, and that many of them will eventually be on their way. But, the brutalities of the Sudanese factions have been long since forgotten by the news media.

But, I will be called a racist for even reminding you of such a thing anyone could have, and should have, already read in the news. Video clips are a bound of the harassment incurred by South Tel Aviv residents, including sexual assault and theft, not to mention the assault on MK Elazar Stern during his tour of the area last year. Yet, I will be called a racist for suggesting that I have yet to hear anything even remotely close being incurred by the Sudanese at the hands of Israelis.

Even as the Israeli Government provides many of these refugees with food, shelter, and medical care, there always seems to be something "racist" which causes the severe loss of memory of any and all humanitarian interventions by the Israeli Government, both at home and abroad.

The answer as to why the above is the case is, of course, double standards, double standards which have been pointed out to the "international community" ad infinitum, by the above mentioned writers, as well as by many others.

Remember how some parents would use that old cliche "because I say so" in answer to frustrating questions from children? Such parents neither had the time, energy, nor inclination to answer properly/

Well, as inappropriate and unproductive such responses to children's reasonable questions can be, the only answer to how Jews have any claim whatsoever to the Land of Israel, all of the Land of Israel, is simply, "Because God says so."

That's right!

If we say that Jews have an historical claim to the Land of Israel, then anyone can come along and claim to be a Canaanite with the historical claims. Even Arab Terrorist Yassar Arafat ysh"w tried playing the "Jebusite Card," at one point. Worse yet, what is to stop another people from coming along and simply lying about their historical claims? There are still many in the "international community" who believe that there is an "ancient" city in Samaria called Nablus. Well, there is, but is was not founded by an ancient "Palestinian" people; it was originally, and still is, called Shchem (Gen. 12:1, 33:18). The only city I can think of founded by Arabs, and not Jews, Romans, Turks, or Canaanites, is Ramleh, just a hop skip and a jump from Ben-Gurion International Airport.

If we say, we conquered the Land, so it belongs to us, then who is to say that another nation, say an Arab nation, cannot simply come along and do and say the same thing?

Worse yet, if the current, or any future, Israeli government comes along and says that it has made a strategic decision to relinquish land? Please tell me that you believe that this scenario could happen. After all, it already has: Sinai, Yamit, Gaza/Gush Qatif and Northern Samaria, not to mention the transfers of authority within various other segments of Judea and Samaria. First it was only Gaza and Jericho. But, then came Hevron, then RamallahShchem, and Jenin.

Likewise, if we say that Jews have a claim to the Land of Israel, based on what various international bodies and organizations have dictated, then what is to prevent these same bodies from changing their minds? Then we would be very much out of luck, wouldn't we? Is such a possibility all that unlikely? The more the Israeli government cheapens itself by acknowledging the legitimacy of such positions by attempting to defend against them, the more it loses this ongoing debate.

However, the Torah is immutable. It stands by itself, and forever. It is the only justification for our claim to the Land of Israel as our own. The Almighty promised the Land of Israel to us, commanded us to kick the current Canaanite residents out, and helped in the completion of this goal.

The borders of Eretz Yisra'el at the time of its conquest by Yehoshu'a Bin-Nun, only a portion of what was Divinely promised to Avraham Avinu for our future (Gen. 15:18-21).

We are a nation, distinct are separate from other nations. International organizations, councils, groups, and commissions maybe good for the International communities.

Whether Religious Zionist or Neturei KartaLitvakHassid, North African, Persian, or Yemenite, we ALL agree that the Torah is our only justification for any claim on the Land of Israel as our Homeland.

The ONLY disagreements are the How, the When, and the By Whom.

These disagreements can be discussed and debated, and certainly should be. But, first we must stop playing the games of the "International Community," in which they make up the rules, and always seem to win,...except for when The Almighty has mercy on us, and bails us out of the trouble we get ourselves into.

We must apply the only rules to the game which have any legitimacy.

Leave "International Law" to the Internationals. I am a Jew, and living in the Jewish Homeland. I choose the Torah!

Israeli Police to Start Breaking into Homes? Tell Me Something I Don't Know.

ה' לחודש הרביעי תשע"ד

The Sun Lion tipped me off to this report....

iHLS: Soon Israeli Police to Visit Citizen Homes

Natalie Novitski, June 19, 2014

Did police officers visit your home without your knowledge and took some of your possessions? In the very near future the answer to that question might be a definite “yes”. A new legislation proposed by the government aims to allow Israeli police to covertly search suspects’ homes without their presence or knowledge. A clause even allows taking photographs and removing objects as evidence. When the investigation ends, even if there was no indictment, suspects will probably never know that the visit took place.  (cont.)
Of course, this is all for "our own protection." I don't know whether to become even angrier than I already am with the Israeli Government, or at myself and my fellow Israeli citizens for allowing this to get as far as it has.

This article is definitely worth reading in its entirety. I cannot make heads of tails of this site. Is it about glorifying Israeli security technology? Or just objectively report the results of its investigations, as was apparently done in this piece.

Americans should find this familiar, pushing the limits, chipping away at your Fourth Amendment Constitutional protections, thanks to the Patriot Act.

In any event, this revelation about the Israeli police being allowed "legally" to do this or that should not surprise anyone.

The Israeli police have already been responsible for entrapping settlers, beating up settlers, beating up Haredim, kicking Jews out of their homes, and all with the court's consent.

So, why should sneaking into a Jew's house be a surprise to anyone? Who believes that this has not already been happening? Those of you who do not are simply fools,...or worse, "sheeple."

Meanwhile,....and you all should have know that this was coming...
