Neo-Nazi's: It's Greek To Me!

I found the following to be rather odd.  It is well worth a read, to see what you make of it.
Arutz 7: Chilling Video: Thousands of Neo-Nazis March Through Athens
Tens of thousands of neo-Nazis rallied in support of Greece's Golden Dawn party, in its largest demonstration of support

Rachel Hirshfeld, February 4, 2013

Tens of thousands of neo-Nazis rallied in Athens in support of Greece's far-right Golden Dawn party, in the movement's largest demonstration of support since its rise to power in last June’s general election.

Men dressed in military uniforms, holding torches, donning swastikas and chanting anti-immigrant slogans, marched through central Athens in what was reportedly a memorial event paying tribute to the party’s “fallen soldiers,” The International Business Times reported.

"This is a day of remembrance. It's a day to remember that Golden Dawn is here to stay. And so long as it does, there will be hope for the country," Golden Dawn spokesman Ilias Kassidiaris told supporters.

Hundreds of riot police and security officials were deployed to the scene of the march, which took place near the prime minister's office and the Turkish embassy in Athens, according to The Times.

The party, which has become notorious for its blatant anti-Semitic and xenophobic rhetoric and has been responsible for perpetrating attacks on Jews and foreigners, has begun spreading its anti-immigration message in schools and youth clubs, as well as through online social media networks, according to recent reports in the international press.
While most Jews will be focusing on words like "anti-Semitic," I was immediately struck the rest of the above paragraph.  This is not the first time that nationalism has been portrayed as being negative, and that participation in the greater, global community has been portrayed as being positive, progressive, and enlightened.
Golden Dawn emerged victorious in the country’s general election last June, gaining 7 percent of the vote and 18 seats in parliament in what was seen as a barely fathomable increase from its 0.2 percent show of support in the previous election in 2009.
I do not know what to make of this increase, as I am not familiar with Greek politics.  Is this increase really significant?  Or is it being hyped up to frighten us?  Either way, the message is clear: Nationalism is bad.
“As Greece's economic fortunes have plummeted, so Golden Dawn's fortunes have soared,” The Times explains.
This says it all.  Germans, and later Austrians, opened their arms to the Nazis.  And, the Nazis did deliver on many of their promises of employing and feeding the people, and restoring their national pride, after being beaten down by the Treaty of Versailles.

No wonder the Greeks have been attracted to a nationalist party.  They have been beaten down.  Whether due to Greek mismanagement or differential treatment from the European Union [EU], EU membership has not been perceived as paying off for Greek citizens.

But, nationalism does not have to be connected to Nazis or anti-Semitism.  The anti-Jewish sentiment does not surprise me, and should not surprise anyone else.

The Greek Flag
Whether modern day Greece is Yawan, physically and/or spiritually, it is now interconnected with the current incarnation of the Roman Empire (Edom/Esau).

עשו שונא ליעקב. Esau hates Ya'aqov.
ספרי במדבר

Let us also not forget that the Greek flag, being waved throughout the video, is based on one of Esau's banners, the cross.  It is also not a coincidence that the swastika is also based on a cross.
The party’s surge in popularity has become increasingly worrisome for Jews and foreigners, who do not have to stretch their imaginations in order to draw parallels to Europe in the late 1930s.

"For a nation that suffered dearly under the Nazis, neo-Nazi gatherings like these should be banned," said Sofia Laniti, a 47-year-old saleswoman, who witnessed the march.
Banned?  Ban them, and see who will be next to be banned?
Vassiliki Georgiadou, a professor at Panteion University and an expert in far-right nationalism, who has studied Golden Dawn for years, told The Times that, "They discard the label of Nazism and instead play up the nationalist card.”
I rest my case.  "Nazi" is short for National Socialist.  I have no idea how this basic tenant was passed over in this report.
“They use ancient Greek history as a camouflage to hide their true identity: that they're fans of Hitler, anti-Semitism," Georgiadou added.
Let us not forget that the "ancient Greeks" had its own hand in  Surely, you are all familiar with the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah!

But, the most important message I received from this event, and the reactions toward it, is that any expressions of Jewish nationalism within Israel will be tolerated even less in the future, than it is now.

That's generally how it works.

Not only is Israel held to a higher standard by the so-called "international community," but assimilated Jews always insist on outdoing their non-Jewish neighbors.

That means they are driven to show the non-Jewish world just how progressive, and enlightened they are, in other words, how non-Jewish they are, believing that someday, Esau will actually change his mind.

I am not sure just how many Jews are left in Greece.  It should be obvious, that they had better get out, and soon.

SHOULD be obvious....
