The Shomron (Samaria) Council thinks it had the last laugh, paying a a court ordered fee to Arabs of 5,000 Sheqqels in 10 Agaroth coins. That means 50,000 10 Agaroth [Ag'] coins, brought in buckets.

Pretty funny, huh?

But,...

I was recently informed that the Israeli Government was considering the phasing out of the 10 Ag' coin.

Why?

Well, apparently, the 10 Ag' is no longer worth it to make, as the metallic value alone is 12 Ag'.

So, instead of paying the Arabs in paper and plastic (The 20 Sheqqel note in now made from a synthetic material, ie. plastic.), which has value only because we allow it to have value, they ended up overpaying them a full 1,000 Sheqqels!

If the Arabs are too stupid to figure this out, then that's they're problem. But, if they do, then they'll be the ones having the last laugh.
