בדרך מצפת לנהריה, נתקלנו בנקודת ביקורת משטרתית בצומת כביש 89 וכביש 886. לאחר שיחה של כמה דקות עם נהג האוטובוס, שוטר משטרה אחד עלה לאוטובוס והחל לשאול את הנוסעים לאן הם נוסעים, כשהוא מתמקד בבירור באלו שמלובשים בגדים חרדיים.

מירון תשפ"ו - תמונת מצב מסתמנת:

1. לא תהיה תחבורה ציבורית רשמית למירון

2. לא תהיה כניסת רכבים פרטיים בסמוך למירון

3. המשטרה מבינה שיגיעו בין 20,000 ל-30,000 איש. אין כוונה מצד המשטרה להתעמת עם הנכנסים להר. מי שמגיע - עושה זאת באחריותו

On my way from Tzfat to Nahariya, we encountered a police checkpoint at the junction of Highway 89 and Road 886. After speaking with the bus driver for a couple of minutes, one police officer actually boarded the bus, and began asking passengers where they were headed, clearly focusing on those in Haredi (ultra-orthodox) garb.

Meron 2026 - Situation is emerging:

1. There will be no official public transportation to Meron

2. There will be no private vehicles near Meron

3. The police understand that between 20,000 and 30,000 people will arrive. The police have no intention of confronting those entering the mountain. Those who arrive do so at their own risk

מאז האסון ל"ג בעומר תשפ״א/2021, בזמן ​​הנחיות שליטת הקורונה, נהרגו 45 גברים ונערים ועוד 150 נפגעו. ואז מיד התחילו הטלת האשמות ואף אחד לא היה מרוצה מהחקירה.

עדות הראייה שסופקה לי הייתה שהמשטרה אשמה לחלוטין בהכוונתה לתנועת הולכי רגל, בין היתר טעויות קטלניות אחרות.

בכל שנה רצופה מאז האסון, לא היו בטוחים אם ירשו אירועים כלשהם להתקיים בקברו של רבי שמעון בר יוחאי [הרשב״י] במירון.

השנה...

המשטרה דרשה מהוועדה לפעול באופן מיידי להסרת כל החסמים המונעים את כניסת אנשי המקצוע למתחם, והבהירה כי כל עיכוב נוסף מסכן את עצם קיום האירוע.

ועדת החמישה אחראית הנהלת קבר הרשב״י דורשת...

הסדרה מלאה של אחריות, ביטוח והתחייבות לנזקים - כפי שמתחייב וכפי שסוכם מראש בין הצדדים.

בכל שנה, מאימים, אולי לבטל את האירוע הזה כעונש על הקהילות החרדיות - המשתתפות העיקריות - על כך שלא מתגייסים לצה"ל, כמעט כמו קבוצות אחרות בישראל.

כמובן, לאחרונה חשפו לנו שלא מקפידים באליטה החילונית בהתחמקות מגיוס.

כנראה הם מאפשרים לאירוע השנתי להתקיים השנה, בין אם לטובת תעשיית התיירות המקומית, כדי שרואים אותם בהכרת טובה, או יודעים שהאירוע יבוטל בכל מקרה, עקב חידוש טילים מהצפון והמזרח.

Since the tragedy of Lag b'Omer, 2021, while Israel was still under COVID guidelines control, 45 men and boys were killed and 150 individuals were injured. The blame game immediately followed. No one was satisfied completely with the investigation into what happened.

The eyewitness account provided to me was that the police was entirely to blame in its direction of foot traffic, among other fatal mistakes.

In each successive year, ithas been touch and go, as to whether any events would be allowed to take place at the gravesite of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron.

This year...

The police demanded that the committee act immediately to remove all barriers preventing professionals from entering the complex, and made it clear that any further delay jeopardizes the very existence of the event.

The Committee of Five, responsible for managing Rashb"i's Tomb, demanded...

...full regulation of liability, insurance, and liability for damages - as required and as agreed in advance between the parties.

Every year, the holding of this event is threaten, quite possible as punishment of the Haredi (ultra-orthodox) communities -- the main participants -- for not enlisting in the IDF, nearly as much as other groups in Israel.

Of course, recently we learned that the secular elite have been let off the hook for their draft-dodging.

My guess is that they are allowing the annual event to take place this year, either for the sake of the local tourist industry, optics, or, who knows, maybe someone knows it will be cancelled anyway, due to a resumption of missiles from the north and east.

Heaven forbid!

.. רבני מירון וצפת פונים בפנייה דחופה: "אל תסגרו את הכוללים ובתי הכנסת במירון".

⭕ פגיעת טילים של חמאס בשדרות, 2 נשים נפצעו. ירי הרקטות היה מג'באליה, עזה, 150 מטרים מהמקום שבו פעלו הכוחות.

▪️שמועות אחרונות בטיוטה.. התוכנית המבצעית של צה"ל בנושא הגיוס החרדית היא הקמת חטיבה חרדית שתכלול כ-3000 לוחמים חרדים.

לשכת ראש הממשלה: "על מנת לגשר על המחלוקות ובכדי להקים להסכמה רחבה (בסוגיית הגיוס החרדי), החליט ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו לקדם את חוק הגיוס שעבר בקריאה ראשונה בכנסת הקודמת.

החוק הוכן על ידי מערכת הביטחון לאחר עבודת מטה יסודית והוגש על ידי שר הביטחון דאז בני גנץ".

האם הממשלה תאפשר את חגיגות ל"ג בעומר להתקיים במירון? עד כמה ינסו למנוע מיהודים להגיע שמה? במהלך מגפת קורונה כביכול הם ניסו. מאות יהודים נעצרו ו/או נפצעו.

האשימו את החרדים כרגיל. אבל כולנו יודעים מה קרה באמת באירוע האסון הזה.

הפעם האם הממשלה תאבק עם ציבור החרדי במירון ובמקרה טיל של חיזבאללה או אפילו מאיראן יגיע למירון לא יירוט בהצלחה? אז הממשלה תוכל לקבל אהדה מהקהילה הבינלאומית, כיום שרוב מדינות העולם נגדנו, ולהזכיר לכולנו עד כמה אנו זקוקים לממשלה להגן עלינו, וצריכים ללכת לפי כל הוראותיה בעתיד הכל ברגע אחת.

בארי חמיש ז״ל הציע ששר החוץ דאז שמעון פרס ביצע את האסטרטגיה המדויקת זו בחברון לקראת פורים תשנ״ד/1994, וכתוצאה מכך נאלץ ד"ר ברוך גולדשטיין להתגונן מפני במערת המכפלה. הדבר גם הביא לחשיפת מחסני הנשק הסודיים של הערבים שאז התכוונו להשתמש בהם כדי "לסיים את מה שהמן התחיל". (ראה אסתר ג,ט)

▪️מירון הכריז על אזור צבאי סגור.. פיקוד העורף של צה"ל הכריז על אזור הר מירון (וכפר מירון) כאזור סגור כדי להימנע מאנשים שמגיעים לחגיגות ל"ג בעומר המתקיימות בדרך כלל בכמות עצומה בקבר רבי שמעון בר יוחאי בכפר מירון. ( השנה ל"ג בעומר חל במוצאי שבת/יום ראשון.) הסגירה מתחילה בשעה 23:00 הערב ועד יום שני, 27.05.2024 בשעה 12:00.

חיזבאללה מתקיפה שוב ושוב את הר מירון, שנמצא כשמונה ק"מ מגבול לבנון, שיגר מטחי רקטות גדולים לעבר ההר והכפר, וכן טילים מונחים בבסיס המכ"ם הישראלי היושב עליו...

אין ספק שממשלת "החירום" הנוכחית תנסה לעשות משהו. בני "מסכן חיי חיילי צה"ל" גנץ וחבריו, גדי אייזנקוט ומתן "מדלל את היהדות" כהנא הם ח״כים בממשלה הזו.

הרב אליעזר ברלנד , ראש קהילת "שובו בנים" של חסידית ברסלב, כבר אמר ליהודים לנסוע למירון לל"ג בעומר כרגיל. אנו צריכים להמתין כדי לדעת עד כמה שוטרי המשטרה מוכנים לעשות כדי להרחיק יהודים ממירון.

לא משנה עד כמה "הגיוני" נראה לנו לבטל את חגיגות ל"ג בעומר במירון, בשל האיומים מצד חיזבאללה, ואולי גם איראן. נראה לי שהממשלה תנצל בשמחה הזדמנות נוספת זו כדי ייחס תכונות שטניות לקהילות החרדיות

מעניין מאוד שהצעת חוק הגיוס החרדי האחרונה שעל הפרק. אתם צריכים להזכר שאין שום קשר בין סוגיית הגיוס החרדי לגיוס החרדי. הוא פשוט אמצעות לאלץ לנוער החרדי להשתלב בחברה ישראלית החילונית, כלומר התבוללות. אם הצעת החקיקה אכן תעבור, ומפלגות חרדיות יעזבו את הקואליציה, תהיה לנו ממשלה שמאלנית עוד יותר, המוכנה להכנע לכל דרישה של חמאס, וחוזרת על אותה טעות בפעם המי יודע כמה.

אולי יתקיימו בחירות אפילו. בדיוק מה שאנחנו לא צריכים, הבחירות השישיות בתוך שש שנים.

אז כנראה בסופו של דבר שמחאות ״קפלן״ נגד הרפורמה השיפוטית, ומחאות למען הפסקת האש שלאחר מכן, תצליחו עבור לכוחות השילטון.

הסיבה היחידה למה לא נראה אש ממשלה בשם אהוד ברק היא בני גנץ ויאיר לפיד לא מוכנים לוותר על שליטה כזו אפילו לטובת ביצוע המטרה הסופית שלהם שהיא הגלובליסטית ונגד התורה.

.. The rabbis of Meron and Safed make an urgent appeal: "Do not close the kollels and synagogues in Meron."

⭕ HAMAS ROCKETS hit in Sderot, 2 women injured. Rocket fire was from Jabaliya, Gaza, 150 meters from where troops were operating.

▪️IDF - HAMAS INSIDE UN COMPLEX.. The IDF spokesman drops a media bombshell on the UN: armed Hamas terrorists are roaming inside the UN's central logistics complex in Rafah and near UN vehicles. (Video evidence provided, not shared here.)

▪️LATEST DRAFT RUMORS.. The IDF's operational plan on the charedi draft issue is to establish an ultra-Orthodox brigade that will include about 3000 ultra-Orthodox fighters.

▪️POLITICAN SHENANIGANS.. PM’s Office: “In order to bridge the differences and bring about a broad consensus (on the charedi draft issue), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to advance the conscription law that passed first reading in the previous Knesset.

The law was prepared by the defense establishment after thorough staff work and submitted by the then defense minister Benny Gantz.”

.. (( Can the opposition lead, MK Gantz, vote against a law he drafted? Will the coalition with charedi parties collapse? Why is Israel forced to deal with this in the middle of a life-and-death war? ))

.. (N12) The charedi parties discussed Netanyahu's exercise in advance, and gave him the green light to move forward at this stage in order to put off the issue (because if there is a law in progress in the Knesset, the High Court probably won’t act).

.. Israel our Home MK Liberman: Opposing the law that was written by his (previous) government -> “..The State of Israel is under fire from the north, south, east and Iran. Every young man and woman aged 18 - Jew, Muslim, Christian, Druze or Circassian must report for military or civil service.”

.. (Amit Segal) It is no so important what the politicians say, only what the High Court does. If on June 2 it rejects the draft-issue petitions, then the coalition has overcome this obstacle. If it accepts the petitions, the risk of the coalition falling increases....

So, will the Israeli Government allow Lag b'Omer celebrations go ahead in Meron? How strongly will they try to prevent Jews from going? They tried during the COVID-19 so-called pandemic, and hundreds of people were arrested and/or injured. 

As usual, Haredim (ultra-orthodox) Jews were blamed. But we all know who was really behind this tragic event.

Will the government put up a up fight, while a missile from Hezbollah or even Iran conveniently makes it through to Meron? The government would then be able to gain sympathy from the international community, now mostly against us, get rid of hundreds of pesky Haredim, and be able to remind all of us how desperately we need our government, and should compliantly follow its orders in the future all in one shot. 

Sound familiar?

This is the exact strategy Barry Chamish suggested was employed by then Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, resulting in Dr. Baruch Goldstein having to defend himself from Arabs in Hevron, on Purim תשנ״ד/1994. This also resulted in the uncovering of the Arabs' secret weapons stash then had intended to use to "finish what Haman had started." (See Esther 3:9 for context)

🔘 Wed afternoon - ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime (May 22, 2024)

▪️MERON DECLARED A CLOSED MILITARY ZONE.. IDF Home Front Command has declared the Mount Meron area (and village) a closed zone to avoid people coming for Lag B'Omer celebrations typically held in huge numbers at the Tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai at the top of Meron village. (Lag b’Omer is Saturday night-Sunday this year.) The closure starts at 11 p.m. tonight and until Monday, May 27, at noon.

Hezbollah has repeatedly attacked Mount Meron, which is located some 8 km (5 miles) from the Lebanon border, launching large barrages of rockets at the mountain and village, as well as guided missiles at the Israeli radar base that sits atop it...

No doubt Israel's current "emergency" government, which includes Benny "risk IDF lives" Gantz and his cohorts, Gadi Eisenkot and Matan "water down Judaism" Kahana, will try something.

Controversial Rabbi Eliezer Berland, Head of the Breslov Hassidic "Shuvu Banim" community, has already told Jews to go to Meron for Lag b'Omer as usual. We will have to wait to see how seriously the police will be in attempting to keep people out of Meron.

Regardless of how "reasonable" it appears to cancel Lag b'Omer festivities in Meron, due to the threats from Hezbollah, and possibly Iran, in the north, I believe that government will happily take yet another opportunity to demonize Haredi communities, which make up the majority of Lag b'Omer attendees in Meron.

This is a particularly opportune time, given the latest, proposed Haredi Draft Law on the table. If you recall, the Haredi Draft issue has never been about the Haredi draft. If the proposed legislation does pass, and Haredi parties leave the government's coalition, we will be left with an even more left-wing government, willing to capitulate to any demands of Hamas, repeating this same mistake for the umpteenth time.

We may even go to elections, if the leftists can come up with enough support for a vote of no confidence.

Just what we need, another national election. It would be the sixth election in six years.

I guess the anti-Judicial Reform protests, and subsequent ceasefire protests, may actually pay off for the powers that be providing their bottomless funding.

The only reason why we will not see Ehud Barak as prime minister, is because Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid are unwilling to give up such power, even if it means protecting their globalist, and otherwise anti-Torah, agenda.

The Only Redeeming Quality Of Lag b'Omer

One of the only redeeming qualities of Lag b'Omer is the custom of shooting a bow and arrow. Children play bow and arrows, but even the adults get involved for at least one shot.

You may have thought that this custom originated from the use of bows and arrows during the Bar-Kokhba revolt, or from some other Jewish warrior oriented era. After all, the students of Rabbi Aqiva whose deaths Jews mourn during the Omer, were not only scholars, but warriors who fought against the oppressive rule of the Romans.

However, this custom apparently did not originate from Jewish heroic feats, but rather from a time for which the bow is simply something symbolic.

The story is told that during the time of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, not a single rainbow was seen. The rainbow represents the punishment of a flood which we deserved, yet the also the promise from HaShem that he never implement it. The story continues that in Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai's merit, the punishment was never deserved,...thus the absence of rainbows. Get it?

So, then why do I believe this is one of the only redeeming customs of Lag b'Omer?

Well, because maybe one, even one kid shooting a bow and arrow, might just get the juke idea in his head that shooting a bow and arrow is cool, and want to learn archery for real. Then, when the Israeli government completes its task of taking all of our guns away (חו"ח ולא עלינו), this one kid, but hopefully more, will be able to pass on this skill to others, when the need arises.

Of course, Jews are hardly strangers to archery. When Yehonathan ben Sha'ul tells David how he will signal him...

 שמואל א כ,כ ואני, שלשת החצים צדה אורה, לשלח לי, למטרה.

I Samuel 20:20 And I will shoot three arrows to the side-ward, as though I shot at a mark.

And, after Yehonathan's death in battle, King David remembers him.

 שמואל ב א,יז וקנן את-הקינה הזאת, על-שאול, ועל-יהונתן בנו. יח ויאמר, ללמד בני-יהודה קשת...כב מדם חללים, מחלב גברים--קשת יהונתן, לא נשוג אחור; וחרב שאול, לא ישוב ריקם.

II Samuel 1:17 And David lamented with this lamentation over Sha'ul and over Yehonathan his son,  18 and said--To teach the sons of Yehudah the bow....22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Yehonathan did not recoil, and the sword of Sha'ul did not return empty. 

Jews should also be encouraged to learn martial arts, as well as how to use knives, sling shots, and slings. You know, "just in case."

Remember the sling?

Here's a great video on how to make a sling. It's not as difficult as I thought, and, unlike firearms, is not regulated by the government,...yet.


If we are going to have a holiday, which interrupts the mourning of Rabbi Akiva's students, then let us at least remember why they died in the first place. Let us also learn from history, instead of repeating it, and be prepared to deal with oppressive, foreign governments, just like they did.

The head of the Catholic Church is expected to arrive in Israel shortly. His itinerary includes traveling to his "holy" sites in the Gallil and furthering the desecration of the Temple Mount with his presence. The Israeli Government has already had to convince him to postpone his trip to the Gallil, so that the expected traffic jams and increased security concerns on Lag b'Omer will not be exacerbated. In regard to his visit to the Temple Mount, more than a few questions have been raised. Will he be allowed to pray there, even though Jews are banned from doing so? Must we depend on the Arabs to protest what we Jews should be protesting?

Meanwhile, Jewish "friends" and collaborators (Yes, I wrote "collaborators," albeit some are unwitting collaborators.) are calling upon their Jews to chill out, or rather numb out, to the threats raised by welcoming such an enemy of the Jewish People into Eretz Yisrael.

My credentials: I am an Orthodox Jew and a Zionist who believes that we should welcome people of all nations and religious persuasions to Israel, as long as they do not try to missionize us. I have some dear Christian friends, including one who is a Catholic nurse.

This is not about friendship. It's not even about Christians. It's about Israel and the image we want to present to the world....

Typical "Orthodox" Zionist,...one who doesn't know halacha. But, it's really not the role of women to know these things anyway. Ellen Horowitz, former Jerusalem City Councilwoman Mina Fenton, and Tomer Devorah are exceptional women. I suggest we pay closer attention to them, as well as to The Key To Redemption, Esav Exposed, and the recently established JewishIsrael.com.

They cannot come here. They are ovdei avodah zarah (practicers of forbidden worship).

The "right" has aligned itself with the Christians to counter balance the "left's" Arab/EU support,...and donations.

(How much money does Israel National News get from them? Will A7 have the guts to publish this comment? They didn't mind publishing Ruth Matar's letter bashing Rabbi Simah Kook shlit"a who ruled against participating in certain interfaith activities.)

We must separate from Yishma'el AND from Esau.

Publicly missionizing or not, they all have one goal. The weapons of the Arabs are their swords; the weapons of the Christians are their tongues.

Who will stand by and listen, even defending their right to speak?

Who will reject their lies, and rip their tongues out?

Um,...Hello?! RaShB"I Didn't Die on Lag b'Omer

Last year in a set of courageous newpaper interviews, Rav Avraham Kosman revealed his research demonstrating that Rabbi Shimon Bar-YoHai [RaShB"I] did not actually die on 18 Iyyar, the 33rd day of S'firath haOmer (counting of the Omer, See Lev. 23:15-16).

The article in the Shofar newspaper is in Hebrew, so I will give you the highlights:


1. One of the bases for believing that RaShB"I died on "Lag b'Omer" comes from a manuscript of Rabbi Hayim Vital. Rabbi Vital ZTz"L, talmid muvhaq of Rabbi Yitzhaq Luria ZTz"L, the AR"I, supposedly mentions this date as the day of death of RaShB"I. Yet, an examination of the original reveals the abbreviation "shin-mem" for "shemeth" haRaShB"I (died), to be a scribal error. The original reads "simhath" haRaShB"I (happiness, festive day).

2. Leading Qabbalist of modern times, Rabbi Yosef Hayim meBagdad, the Ben Ish Hai, confirms this notion that RaShB"I did not die on this date,...

3. ...as does Rabbi Hayim Yosef David Azulai ZTz"L, the "HID"A."

4. And, even if this were the anniversary of death of RaShB"I, the Hatham Sofer was very much against the idea of celebrating on such a day. "Do we celebrate on Moshe Rabbeinu's anniversary of death?"

5. A little known event also occurred on this date in the year 4123 (363 CE). The Byzantine emperor of the time had granted permission for Jews to rebuild the Temple and to re-institute the sacrificial service. Yet the night they were to lay the foundation, Jerusalem was hit by an earthquake, a day of sorrow.

Many (not all) Jews go through S'firath haOmer, looking horrible with hair and beards (those that normally trim or shave) out of control, completely ignoring the precedence of honoring Shabbath over aveluth (mourning practices), in commemoration of the fall of Rabbi Aqiva's talmidim during this time period.

Before the standardization of the calendar of Hillel, when Tisha b'Av, the date of the destruction of of the first and Second Temples, among other things (Mishnah , would fall on a Friday, men would cut their hair on the preceding Thursday, in honor of the coming Shabbath (Mishnah Ta'anith 4:7)! Yet, heaven forbid they should cut their hair kavod Shabbath (in honor of Shabbath).

However, whatever the Simhath RaShB"I was, it seems to take precedence over the expression of aveluth during S'firath haOmer.

Huh?

Now I'm really confused.

The case here appears to be that the humra of the minhag of the inyan takes precedence over the hallachah.

Unfortunately, "Lag b'Omer" is not the only manifestation of confused priorities amongst the Jewish People.

I supposed that is because, as we learn in Megilath Esther, everything is hafukh before Ge'ulah (time of redemption).

Ze'ev,

I like your work. I have to tell you, though, that there is little to no evidence
to support that the RaShB"I died on Lag baOmer. See the recent interview in Meqor Rishon and b'Qehillah with Rav Avraham Qosman, particularly in regard to the discovered error in interpreting the Ariza"l on this question.

Apparently, one of the few sources suggesting that the RaShB"I died on Lag ba'Omer is from the Ariza"l. In the predominant version, it says "shemeth RaShB"I" (that/when RaShB"I died) This actually came from the abbreviation "shin-mem/geresh".


The original work, obtained from the Vital Family (as in Rav Hayim Vital), reveals the latter "shin-mem/geresh" to stand for "simhato RaShB"I" (happiness of RaShB"I).

That being said, sure I guess it can be a positive experience of unity amongst Am Yisrael, especially when there are gender-segrated events and activities,...as there should be.

Yet, I was disturbed by the reports of drug use and drug access in Meron this year. And as always, I am disturbed by increased signs of [potential?] avodah zarah, both "praying" to the RaShB"I and Habbad Meshihistiyuth.

Thus, I have mixed feelings about the lack of media coverage.
