The Battle Against Sukkoth

English follows the Hebrew.

Arutz 7: Where did the Four Species markets disappear to?
Popular Four Species market in Ashdod won't operate this year - here's why.
Israel International News, Oct 3, 2022

In some haredi cities, there will not be a large Four Species market this year, following lessons learned from the Meron disaster.

The Four Species are used during the holiday of Sukkot (the Festival of Tabernacles), and traditionally, prior to the holiday, special marketplaces are set up to allow customers easy access to a large number of vendors at once.

One of the most popular Four Species markets was the one in Ashdod's Quarter 7. Sources in Ashdod have said that as part of the lessons learned from the Meron disaster, insurance companies have tightened criteria, dramatically influencing the cost of operations.

"Despite the attempts which were made to obtain permits, it became clear that the market does not meet the updated requirements and therefore we are unable to operate it," a local haredi news site reported.

"As a result of not operating the market, Quarter 7 will not operate the Religious Council's 'guidance sukkah,' and the sukkahs which will be operated by the Religious Council will only be located in Quarter 3 and Quarter 2 - where there is also a traditional Four Species market."
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Maybe you are saying:
"They have another market. so whats the problem?"
or "Insurance companies determine their own prices and requirements. What is there to be do."

Whoever says such things is most likely some sort of robot who has been successfully indoctrinated by the State education system!

During the Meron disaster half a million were there, on a mountain. In contrast, a Sukkot four species market is a fairly small space.

On Tisha B'av Fast they were worried about two thousand Jews ascending the Temple Mount, in spite of the already hundreds of thousands of Arabs.

The report in Hebrew from Ashdodnet cited above adds: "This severely affects the residents as well as the merchants who are likely to see a decrease in sales."

How many Jews will not observe the mitzvah of Sukkot because the distance from their homes to public Sukkots is too long?

Once again, it seems the Israeli Government is not actually trying to protect us from danger. Rather it is making excuses for its continued battle against the Torah and those who keep it.

Police Violence against the Torah Observant Community: Nothing New under the Sun

English follows the videos below.

Yassam (special patrol unit) officer pushes Haredi boy during confrontations in Jerusalem

A Yassam officer throws bucket at a 13-year-old, Haredi boy in Beitar Ilit. The officer claims the youth had thrown a cinder block at him. Why were they mobilized to Beitar Ilit anyway? I believe they mobilized to Beitar Ilit in anticipation of the Ministry of Health guidelines. Beitar Ilit is an isolated town, which they could have just locked down, containing any spread of whatever contagion they believe needs to be contained.

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
There is a custom in many Jewish communities to read publicly the Book of Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) on the Shabboth (Lev. 23:34-44) during the holiday of Sukkoth. Usually this occurs during the intermediate days. This year Shabboth coincided with the first day, Yom Tov.

"That which hath been is that which shall be, and that which hath been done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing new under the sun." (Qoheleth 1:9)
This Sukkoth has been marked by violence against the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) communities in Israel. But, this has already happened so many times before, and unfortunately, we have not seen the last of such violence.

Many decry that "They deserve it!" or "We have tried all other means, so we have no choice!" And now, they are even claiming it is piqu'ah nefesh (for the sake of saving a life), due to the current "health crisis."

Then why haven't the police checkpoints been operational? Perhaps it was because the government wanted the current lock down to fail.

And what is their crime? Defying the Israeli Government's incessant anti-Torah decrees, in order to maintain some sense of balance between law and order and personal freedoms.

In my opinion, the leftists protesting against Prime Minister Netanyahu have been doing pretty much the same thing, albeit not for the sake of Torah.

The government response toward the Haredi community, supported by the secular, Ashkenazy elite, and a portion of the robotic Mamlakhti (diehard state loyalist), religious community, is nothing less than sinath hinam, baseless hatred.

Hatred toward those loyal to the Torah over the State, such as Haredim and many settlers, is nothing new under the sun.

Israel: Prepare for a Tighter Lock Down

English follows the Hebrew.

YNET: Netanyahu: If coronavirus lockdown doeדn't work, we'll make it stricter
Itamar Eichner, Moran Azulay, October 1, 2020

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Thursday that if the national lockdown does not work well enough, the government will make it stricter on Monday. "On Monday we will make a decision," wrote Netanyahu on Facebook. "This will be determined according to data and not stronghandedly or on a whim. We are at war, a difficult war against the coronavirus."
Esser Agaroth ():
The current lock down was doomed to failure from the beginning. I have been hearing reports from all over about checkpoints not being manned, including Jerusalem and B'nei Braq. When they are manned, no one is being stopped, nor questioned as to why they are driving in and out of these neighborhoods or cities.

Perhaps this was the objective in the first place, have this lock down fail, in order to justify the implementation of a much tighter one.

But, is this really just to take anti-Netanyahu protestors out of the equation? I think not. They may appear to be thorns in Netanyahu's side. But, from the government's perspective, so are Haredim. And Haredim are the ones getting demonized more than the anti-Netanyahu protestors.

Accusations of Netanyahu conspiring against the protestors outside of his home and elsewhere are just a pretext. Protestors can do plenty of damage online, bypassing the mainstream news media.

I believe the real issue here is increased control over the populace.
YNET: Ministers approve 21-day extension of Shin Ben virus tracking
Itamar Eichner | Sept. 30, 2020

The ministerial committee, which overlooks the Shin Bet activity, approved on Wednesday the 21-day extension to the practice of phone tracking of confirmed coronavirus carriers.

Ministers were unanimous about the effectiveness and necessity of the Shin Bet's tools in locating patients and cutting off the chain of infection.

Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said during the vote that existing civilian tools should be improved in order to replace the Shin Bet's technology, once the daily coronavirus tally drops below 200.
The daily coronavirus tally is not going to drop below 200 anytime soon. But when is does, existing civilian tools will be used? What happens when COVID-19 gets under control, and becomes nothing more than the seasonal flu? With the government even bother to justify continued use of tracking? Or will we have already been spoon fed enough of this "for our own good" nonsense to be pacified?

Say what you will about the the left-leaning protestors or Haredim. But without them, our freedoms would have been dashed against the wall long ago.

The Real Reason for Israel's Holiday Lock Down

English follows the Hebrew.

YNET: Edelstein: Contact tracing apparatus will be fully prepared, operational after lockdown 09.13.20

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein (above) said Sunday that following a government-mandated three-week-long coronavirus lockdown, a fully prepared and operational contact tracing apparatus will go into effect
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Well, now we really know why there's a lock down during the autumn, Jewish holiday season...

And in spite of hospital administrators stating in a government meeting that a general lock down is not required; there is unnecessary anxiety (HaModia)...

And with the objective of setting off the Haredi community...

As well as the objective of encouraging other communities to be aggravated hate Haredim...

In order to prevent our ultimate goal of Ahduth Yisra'el (Jewish Unity).

Meanwhile, infiltrators/illegal aliens from Eritrea and the Sudan continue to roam the streets with  only minimal if any police intervention.

Happy New Year, Jews.

Guest Post: The Face Of Terrorism

by Uri Silberman, The Israel Network

This is the human trash that stabbed two Jews to death. You can tell that his deplorable living conditions led to desperate actions. It's said that he was led to the attack because he couldn't afford a third floor in his Ramallah villa, and this because of the Israeli occupation.

Don't tell me about a supposed silent peaceful majority of Balestinians who are against violence. Enough of that bullshit. These animals, who are singing the praise of the terrorist who killed two Jews are the very vocal majority of Balestinians who encourage and carry out terrorism.

Video: Uncensored Jew

Here is another must see video.

Arabs Murdered Jews, so Beware of Jewish Terrorists!

Rabbi Eitam and Na'ama Henkin hy"d were murdered last night, in front of four of their children, while driving between Itamar and Elon Moreh.

Rabbi Eitam and Na'ama Henkin hy"d
But, what does leftist, Israeli new source YNET choose to report on? "Price Tag" attacks.
YNET: West Bank tensions surge in night of 'price tag' attacks
IDF sends 4 extra battalions to control 'very serious' situation in West Bank; Palestinians attacked in revenge for shooting attack on Henkin family.

Elior Levy, Itay Blumenthal, 10.02.15

Tensions escalated further in the West Bank Friday morning when, just hours after two Israelis were killed in a shooting attack near Itamar, a Palestinian's vehicle was torched and a message of revenge was graffitied on a house nearby in Baytillu near Ramallah

"Revenge, Henkin," read the message on the wall in reference to Israelis Eitam and Na'ama Henkin who were killed in Thursday night's attack. Their four children were with them in the car at the time of the attack but were unharmed.

Police requested that the owner of the house and vehicle file an official complaint so that investigations could begin to catch the culprits.

Friday morning's suspected "Price Tag" incident came after military assessments led to the deployment of four extra battalions in the West Bank overnight. (cont.)
Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Poor, poor Pseudostinians!

When Pseudostinians take revenge on Jews for daring to pray on Har HaBayith (Temple Mount) or to visit Qever Yosef (Joseph's Tomb), Qever Rachel (Rachel's Tomb), or Ma'arath HaMakhpellah (Cave of the Patriarchs), it is called "rising up of the oppressed" or "freedom fighting." But, when Jews are frustated, traumatized, and fed-up by a government which refusing to do what needs to be done in order to protect them, then it is not even called "vandalism" or "vigilantism;" it is called "Jewish terrorism."

I wonder just how much protecting of Jews and searching for terrorists those four extra IDF battalions will be doing, and how much protecting of Pseudostinians and kidnapping of random Torah-observant youth for "re-education" (Translation: State loyalism brainwashing).

It is the same old cycle...

Meanwhile, nothing is being done to "re-education" Arab youth.

(Video Tip: Ivgeni Zarubinski)

The Jewish People continues to face its greatest challenge ever, to wake up from the confusion, and stand with the Torah, or to stand against it.

What will you decide?

After the murder of the Henkins, readers began writing in with information about the attack.

One reader suggested...
Many contradicting details in the official story. Reminds me of the attack on Binyamin and Tali Kahane hy"d. What a coincidence the Arabs got such a prominent and connected family. Could be the set-up for bringing in international forces to force a "solution."
Already they used this to move four battalions of soldiers into Yehuda and Shomron.
How convenient to have alleged attacks on Arabs by Jews days after Abbas begs the international community for protection. The fact that two Jews were murdered by Arabs is irrelevant to them I guess.
Food for thought.

Lulav Decoration/

Upon seeing my lulav, I cannot tell you how many times people have make comments about how hippy-dippy my lulav looked, or that I made this up, or that there was a problem with hatzitzah, separation between the parts of the lulav, and thus disqualifying it for use.

Needless to say, I encountered a lot of people who made it there business to tell me such things.

But, actually...
Mishneh Torah, Laws of Lulav 7:10 [11]
If one wraps a silver or gold chord around the bundle, or wraps cloth and took it up, he has fulfilled his obligation [of the mitzvah].

Specifically, the use of a gold chord appears to have been something done by those in Jerusalem (See Mishnah Sukkah 3:8, TB Sukkah 36b), so I feel great about doing my to bring this custom back!

Jerusalem Residents fend off Arab Terror while Preparing for Shabbath

The following is a report from Jerusalem City Councilman Aryeh King (United Jerusalem Party), Erev Shabbath, October 10, 2014:

המחבלים עשו שימוש בבקבוקי תבערה וזיקוקים שנורו לעבר סוכות התושבים היהודים שהיו עסוקים בהכנות לשבת.
Aryeh King

Esser Agaroth (2¢) Translation:
Terrorists used Molotov cocktails and fireworks were fired at the Sukkoth of Jewish residents who were busy preparing for Shabbath.

Currently, neighborhood response teams are being established. These teams are being organized in every neighborhood, and their role will be to respond immediately to any terrorist act, with volunteers, all according to, and subject to the law. The teams will respond to the medical and security needs due to terrorist events, and, of course, will document them. Response team members will be in contact with each other through WhatsApp, and will be outfitted with protective equipment, the funds for which I intend to raise from donors from abroad.

Neighborhood response teams (צת"שים) have been, and are continuing to be, established in neighborhoods along the border between West and East Jerusalem. I am sure that the neighborhood response teams will be a helpful force to the security forces in the city, and in the near future play a significant role in restoring personal safety, particularly to the residents of these neighborhoods, but also to Jerusalem in general.

A peaceful and quiet Shabbath,
and a Happy Holiday.
Aryeh

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
No additional comments are really necessary, except for an acknowledgement of Councilman King's continued commitment to keeping the public, both in and outside of Jerusalem, informed of the truth. He is a man of great integrity, and possesses true Ahavath Yisra'el, and sacrificed much for the sake of Jerusalem.

You can keep up to date by "liking" his page on Facebook.

Silly Christians! Israel Is For Jews!

Anniversary of the Passing of Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon
(Ramba"m/Maimonides)

Texans for Israel Blog: A Reflection of Sukkot
Mike Isley, September 26, 2013

Sukkot ended at sundown Sept. 26. I have learned so much more this year about the Wonderful Feast of Sukkot. It has been great fun learning how to build a sukkah. I have shared food and drinks with friends in my sukkah; I have slept in my sukkah. I am so proud of all my friends, Jew and Non-Jew that are making an effort to learn more about the Feast of the Lord!

The eighth day of the festival, which began Sept. 18, is known as Shmeni Atzeret. On this day, prayers are recited. This wonderful celebration and joy has so much to do with Harvest and Thanking the Lord for His provision! Shmeni Atzeret is the day to thank God for the harvest and yield He has bestowed upon His people.

My friend Tommy Waller and HaYovel, his non-profit group, are in Israel right now during the High Holy Days. By picking grapes for the Israeli farmer, they are fulfilling Biblical prophecy. (cont.)

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Most people in the world already know that Yishma'el wants Israel for itself.

PA President Mahmud Abbas (Abu Mazen) shows his vision of a Palestinian Psuedostinian State's borders.

"Palestine" is based on a very old lie. The lie began with the Roman extension of the name "Philistia," to most all of Israel, in an attempt to the Jewish People's connection to their homeland. Yet, "Philistia" was located in the area of Azza (Gaza). The Romans changed the names of many cities, such as Shchem to N(e)apolis, which became Nablus, since Arabs cannot pronounce the "p" sound.

And we know that you (Esau) want Israel too, believing that following of your false deity/messiah, or intercessor, or whatever you are calling him these days, makes you the true inheritors of OUR Land.

Silly Christian! Israel is for Jews!
There isn't any mention of Esau on this map!

Although the rabbit is not kosher, a midrash on Parashath Shemini teaches that the pig is the most appropriate symbol for Esau/Rome/The West/Christians.

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and to Aaron, saying to them:  2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying: These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 3 Whatsoever parts the hoof, and is wholly cloven-footed, and chews the cud, among the beasts, that you may eat. 4 Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them which only chew the cud, or of them which only part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but does not part not the hoof, he is unclean for you. 5 And the rock-badger, because he chews the cud but does not part the hoof, he is unclean for you. 6 And the hare, because she chews the cud but does not part the hoof, she is unclean for you. 7 And the pig, because he parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud, he is unclean for you. 8 Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you. (Leviticus 11:1 - 8)

The list of non-kosher, four-legged animals represent the four kingdoms which have ruled over Israel. The first three, the camel, the rabbit, and the rock-badger (hyrax) are not kosher due to their limbs; whereas the pig, the fourth and final kingdom of Edom (Esau), is not kosher, due to its insides.

Not only that, but the pig is known sit with its front hooves out, showing its "kosher" attributes. It also makes a chewing motion, even though it is not really chewing its cud. In other words, it lies!

And, while Jews run around either concerned that you are trying to convert us to your false beliefs, or to assure us that you are not, and that we should accept your volunteers into our homes, these same Jews forget that you want our Land, or at least portions of it.

Whether you believe that you are from lost tribes and will inherit the northern kingdom (Israel, including Ephraim), and take on misswoth (Torah commandments), while we Jews reside in the southern kingdom (Judea), and take on your avodah zarah (foreign/forbidden worship), or that you will take it all, mixing in with us or not, it does not matter.

The only misswoth you need to worry about are the Seven Misswoth B'nei Noa'h, which include the rejection of your avodah zarah. (...and certainly do not include tzitzith)

Funny how the title of the above is "A Reflection of Sukkot." There is an interesting midrash about goyim (non-Jews) and Sukkoth, one that is apropos.

Toward the time of Ge'ulah, the goyim (non-Jews) will try, and subsequently fail, to fulfill the misswah of Sukkah. The relevant component of this misswah, is that it is fulfilled with the entire body, just like the misswah of residing in Eretz Yisra'el.

The failure of the goyim to fulfill this misswah will show them, once and for all, that the Land of Israel does not belong to them, but only to us.

Does this sound like a challenge? I would advise caution. Do not test His Will.

Is this midrash literal? Or, like the Ramba"m might suggest, is it metaphorical?

Either way, I pray that I live to see the day when the Holy Land is finally rid of unholy beliefs and practices.

The Covenant Of Abraham

The following is a comment on Times of Israel: Christians Fulfilling the Prophecy of Isaiah, and my reply to it. This woman was probably referring to Avraham's blessing, based on Genesis 12:3.

"Those who bless Israel will be blessed; those who curse Israel will be cursed."

Either way, she gets it wrong.
DA:  We gentiles are GRATEFUL that part of God's covenant with Abraham included blessing every family of the earth. May there be multitudes who will one day join themselves with Him...Zechariah 2:11

Esser Agaroth (2¢): You are NOT part of Avraham's covenant. You are the inheritors of Esau! He did not inherit the covenant from Yitzhaq (from Avraham); his brother Ya'aqov did. Not only that, but Esau never had a brith* milah! The covenant is not yours, and neither is OUR PROMISED LAND!

*brith = Heb.: covenant
milah = Heb.: circumcision

Your "multitudes" who continue their avodah zarah (foreign/forbidden practices) are not, I repeat, not welcome here.

The pollution stemming from the worship of a false deity/false messiah/intercessor, or whatever you are calling him these days is a curse, not a blessing.

Setting sights on OUR LAND is a curse, not a blessing.

I suppose that you will have to learn this the hard way.

Today, the last day of Sukkoth, Hosha'na Rabbah with be the (Day of Judgment for the Goyim). It is also the day when you are supposed to leave Jerusalem, and allow the Jews to celebrate Shemini Atzereth/Simhath Torah without you.

Of course, when you came for Sukkoth, you never supposed to bring your avoah zarah beliefs and practices with you in the first place.

I guess no one told you those parts.

Are Christians Fulfilling the Prophecy of Isaiah?

The Enveloping Light of the Sukkah

The mitzvah of sitting in the Sukkah is unique in sanctifying man’s daily routines. The eating and drinking, the chatting, and the sleeping which we do in the Sukkah are elevated and sanctified to the point where they are deemed mitzvoth.

It is specifically on Sukkot that we merit this, because Sukkot is Chag HaAsif (the holiday of in-gathering). This is when both the physical and spiritual in-gathering of the year are completed – the in-gathering of grain and fruit, as well as the in-gathering of all our Torah study and all of our good deeds. Thanks to the repentance and atonement that we undergo during the month of Elul and Aseret Yemei Teshuvah (the ten days of repentance), this in-gathering is innocent and pure, and we can thoroughly enjoy it.

Sukkah and the Land of Israel
In this sense, the mitzvah to live in the Sukkah and the mitzvah to settle the Land of Israel are similar (Vilna Ga’on, cited in Kol HaTor 1:7). Both of these mitzvoth envelop us, and we immerse ourselves in their atmosphere of holiness. By doing so, even our mundane activities become sanctified. (cont.)

Esser Agaroth (2¢):
Rabbi Melamed neglects a very important series of points. We (Jews) do not violate halakhah (Jewish Law), based on past nevu'ah (prophecy),...and that is very much an oversimplification. We follow halakhah according to halakhic sources.

Avodah Zarah and Incitement to Involve Others
Christians are  'ovdei avodah zarah (Ramba"m Hil. A"Z 9:4 - uncensored version). We are not allowed to bring 'ovdei avodah zarah (practitioners of foreign/forbidden worship, Ex. 20:2, Deut. 7:2-6) into the Land to pollute it with their practices which The Almighty despises, we are certainly not allowed to make it easy for them to live here (Do Caleb Waller and his wife still live in a trailer which should have been given to a Jewish family???) or to do their avodah zarah in the vineyards, fields, nor even in the privacy of their own living spaces. (Ramba"m Hil. A"Z Chps. 9-10 - uncensored version)

What? Do you think these Christian "volunteers" have given up their false deity/false messiah, [or whatever] they happen to be calling him these days? When they say God, who do you think they really mean? They mean that composite, mythical figure of a bastard, yeshivah drop-out who went down to Egypt to learn the magical arts. Hello?!

In their OWN words:
We will share with them the Yesh"u* (Jesus) that we know.... Our goal and vision is to organize an infrastructure, with the participation of as many communities as possible, to labor and to work shoulder to shoulder with Israelis in the field, to bring the gospel of Yesh"u to [them] one at a time, one family at a time.
(*The "name" Yesh"u is actually an acronym יש"ו = ימך שמו וזכרו "May his name and memory be blotted out!")
The Land Of Israel
Besides the pollution of our Land with Christian avodah zarah, they are also preparing the way for themselves and their cohorts to settle here permanently. (God forbid!) I wonder if Rabbi Melamed believes that is also part of prophecy.

Notice that there isn't any Tribe of Esau. They get Mt. Se'ir.
Christians believe that one of two scenarios will occur:
1. The "Two Houses" crap, that they will inherit the north (Efraim, etc.) and accept upon themselves taryag misswoth (even though there are many which they are not allowed to observe, such as Shabbath), while Jews settle the South (Judea), and accept upon themselves their forbidden beliefs in their false deity/false messiah/intercessor, OR

2. That they will get everything, and only those who believe in their false deity/false messiah/intercessor, or whatever they are calling him these days, in order to feign benevolence, will inherit with them. (See Zech chps. 12-14) It has already begun in Jerusalem. This is parallel to the Yishma'elite (Arab/Muslim) belief that Jews did not do what The Almighty desired, and thus lost our inheritance.
Who has been feeding R' Melamed false information about Christianity?? (more likely than not, native English speakers)
This is NOT about just about missionizing.

This is not just about polluting our Land with their avodah zarah.

This is about laying claim to OUR LAND, the Land which The Almighty promised to Am Yisrael, handed it back to us, when we did what we were supposed to in

The Arab vision of Israel: Non-existence.
When Arabs lay claim to OUR LAND, many rabbis suggest that they have the din (status) of the שבעת העמים. But when Christians do the same, then no? Why not?

Could it be because of money? Or perhaps, it is because these native English speakers, feeding information to Rabbi Melamed and others, are so overjoyed by the love and acceptance of goyim, they feel like they have really accomplished something? They feel like they have finally won the battle, they never won while in galuth (exile). But, this battle is simply a result of the galuthi Jews unending, co-dependent search for external validation for our communal self-esteem, not to mention our existence.

This mentality of allowing ones feelings, ones hashqafah (preconceived perspective), to blind ones eyes from seeing what the halakhah really is, what the Torah really says, is exactly like the Leftists' "feelings" that helping the Arabs (who want to annihilate us) is the right thing to do.

Both are the Western/galuthi approaches.

Let us not forget that the weapon of Yishma'el may be the sword (or missile or bomb - לא עלינו), but the weapon is Esau is the mouth and tongue, like the pig which sticks out its split hooves, and makes a chewing motion, pretending to be kasher (Midrash, Parashath Shemini). Esau's mouth smiles; and his tongue lies! It has many faces! Rabbi Melamed would do well to revisit one of the very sources he cites, the Kol HaTor**, and look up what it states about those Jews who align themselves with Esau.

The Sukkah
Rabbi Melamed mentions a connection between the Christian infiltrators whom he calls "volunteers," and the Festival of Sukkoth. After all Sukkoth is called Hag HaAssif (Festival of Gathering). Odd that he neglected to mention the very well-know midrash which actually does connect non-Jews with this festival, especially since it is prophetic. This midrash from the Talmud (TB Avodah Zarah 2b-3a) goes like this....
On the dreaded, final Day of Judgment, the goyim cry out to The Almighty for one last chance to demonstrate their readiness to accept His Torah. The Almighty eventually decides to give it to them. He gives them one misswah to perform, the misswah of Sukkah. The goyim immediately go out and build sukkoth on their rooftops.

Then The Almighty brings a heatwave. The goyim leave the sukkah, and kick it, demonstrating just how much they despise The Almighty's misswoth.
Rabbi Melamed also cites the Vilna Gaon, independently of the Kol HaTor. The Vilna Gaon also teaches that both the misswoth of Sukkah and the settled of the Land of Israel are done with the entire body (Itturei Torah).

May Christians leave and kick the sukkah speedily in our days!

And like the sukkah, may they leave OUR LAND, soon as well, and take their avodah zarah pollution with them!

EXCLUSIVE! MK Yuli Edelstein's Dirty Little Secret

No one doubts the heroism of those Jews like Yuli Edelstein (Likud), currently the Minister of Hasbarah and Diasporah Affairs.  He fought and suffered while stuck in the former Soviet Union.  He was an inspiration to others in the same situation, as well as to those of us living in relative freedom in the West.  He helped keep their spirits alive and maintain their sense of hope.

However,...

As a member of K'nesseth and minister in the Israeli government,

The following is the translation of an excerpt from a letter I received from Mina Fenton, former Jerusalem City Council Member, followed by its translation.  Please read it, before you cast your vote in the Likud Primaries, and before you vote in the Israeli General Elections, this coming January, 2013.

I spoke with Yuli Edelstein, Minister of Hasbarah and Diasporah Affairs, while he was on his way to Binyanei HaUmah (the Jerusalem Convention Center) on Tuesday of Hol HaMo'ed Sukkoth, before he was to speak at the missionary convention of religious persecution, THE FEAST.  I made it clear to him that the Chairperson of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem [ICEJ], organizers of THE FEAST, Jürgen Bühler is in fact a missionary.  He was a member of the management of the missionary organization "King Of Kings" in the Klal Building from 1994 to 2010, until he received the position of general manager of the ICEJ.  He is still listed as an active member of the "King of Kings."
The minister [Edelstein] thanked me, of course,.....  and said that his adviser will check into it.  This probably did not "move" the minister, and he simply thought he was speaking nonsense to the convention from a Jewish standpoint, and sold us to them for the their dollars, what I call "Journey of the Cross of Dollars."

Sincerely,
Mina Fenton
How many of you knew about this?  My guess is probably none of you.
Do you really want someone in the K'nesseth with such a casual attitude towards Christian missionaries, someone with a kippah on his head even?

I don't.

Oh, and, by the way, although Prime Minister Netanyahu did not attend this missionary conference, he did send them a video greeting.

Food for thought.

Avodah Zarah Parade 5773 Wrap-Up!

I didn't feel so well on the Thursday during Hol HaMo'ed Sukkoth, so I didn't end up going to a barbecue at a friend's in the [re-claimed Jewish] Shimon HaTzadiq Neighborhood.

Too bad, too, because I could have prayed Tefillath Minhah from the amud, which would have been a tiqqun for the fiasco last year, when I tried to do the same.  Last year, someone kept interrupting my hazarah, accusing me of "davening the wrong nusah."  I stopped after negotiating all of his interruptions, and finally making it through to the end of the first berakhah. I then gestured to this guy to take over, as a walked to the back of the yard where we were praying.

Later on, I set him straight about how there is ACTUALLY more than one nusah in the universe.  He realized his mistake, felt bad about it, and apologized, and ready to apologize to everyone present, until I stopped him from doing so.

I can forgive ignorance quite easily, when the offending party is willing to amend his knowledge.

But, since I did not go to the barbecue/Se'udath Hol HaMo'ed this year, I did not have the opportunity, nor merit, to pray in an area being re-claimed by its Jewish home owners, who temporarily lost access to their homes in 1948.  Then, of course, after reclaiming access to a good portion of our heritage in 1967, there was still the issue of Arab squatters.  That issue has turned out to be more difficult to deal with than the Jordanian, Egyptian, and Syrian armies put together.

But, I digress...

I spent that day at home instead.  Yet, I wanted to get outside a bit, so I walked over to Shalom Fallafel on Betzalel Street to buy a couple of containers of the best hilbeh I've ever had, besides homemade.  Unfortunately, it was closed.

On the way there, I had no choice but to pass by Jerusalem's annual Avodah Zarah Parade, known to most as the "Jerusalem March."

I had successfully blocked this annual embarrassment to Am Yisra'el, Eretz Yisrael, the Torah. I had thought about getting out of town, like to the beach.  But, like I said, I wasn't feeling very well.  I knew that I could not spend too much time in the area, as I knew that I incredibly upset an aggravated, and possibly even arrested.

Security was out in force, including a helicopter, courtesy of OUR TAX SHEQQELS, thank you very much, and all for the privilege of receiving a kiss from Esau's descendants.

Yeah, I know, I know...  Was I just running  away from the problem to put my head in the sand until it was over?   I don't know about that.  I believe that at this juncture, I can do more with a keyboard than with shouting and a picket sign.  Time and time again, we have learned than protests do absolutely nothing in Israel to change anything,...except, of course, those protests secretly set up by the Israeli government itself.

But, yet again, I digress...

On my way to Shalom Fallafel and back another way, I was able to mention to some (in Hebrew) what this parade was all about.   One of those few was a friend of mine.  I [nicely] asked him why he was watching the Avodah Zarah Parade, and showing his support.

The friend he was with grabbed his arm, and tried to get him to go.  Instead this friend of mine wanted to know what I meant.  I explained the problems with the Parade and its participants.  He didn't seem to happy with my "insulting" of "friends of Israel," so much so that he actually smacked me, albeit not very hard.

My eyes popped out of my skull.  I asked him that he would strike a fellow Jew for the sake of those, whose beliefs and practices pollute the Land.  That seemed to go over his head.  So, I kept it plain and simple.  I told him that he was not my friend, and I walked away.

Before anyway starts up about Ahduth Yisra'el (Jewish Unity) and Hava'ath Shalom bein Adam leHavero, (making peace between individuals) I will remind you that there are limits to these concepts.  There are limits in Judaism.

Believing what you want about a group of people, you are being blinded by smiles and money (Read: co-dependence and bribes), doesn't make the halakhoth (Jewish Laws - and there are many of them related to this subject!) go away.

More Disturbing News From France

On Shabbath, Hol HaMo'ed Sukkoth, I received some disturbing news from France.

We have all heard quite a bit of disturbing and tragic news from France over the past year, but the news I heard this time was particularly disturbing.  Here's why.

I was staying by friends in Eli. For dinner, we were joined by a family from France, which had only been in Israel for not even two months.  My French is almost non-existent, and the husband's English seemed to be almost as bad as my French.  But, his Hebrew was pretty good.  So, we were able to communicate.

We went back and forth with the usual questions.  Honestly, I couldn't wait to ask him about France.  Was it really that bad for Jews?

It was worse.

I'm not talking about not being able to wear a kippah in most Paris neighborhoods, Muslim unrest and violence, the French Foreign Minister's denial that Jews have any connection to Israel, or even the fear of getting shot

What could be worse?

French rabbis, or rather French "rabbis," are telling Jews to STAY IN FRANCE!

But, that's not all!

A resident of Eli, originally from France, was actually prevented from speaking in a synagogue (or more?) in Lyon.

Prevented!  What were they afraid of?  I wonder.

It sounds strangely similar to when Rabbi Yissakhar Shlomo Teichtel ztz"l was prevented from speaking in synagogues in Hungary during World War II.  He knew what was coming.  His fellow Hungarians might have as well, but couldn't or wouldn't face the inevitable.

Can't European Jews learning from history?  Do they really have such short memories?

Heck!  Even former Prime Sinister Ariel Sharon told Jews they should make aliyah, and didn't seem to care too much that he upset more than a handful of French officials.

It is no coincidence that that Jewish towns with a high percentage of French speakers have been growing over the past ten years.

French Jews living in Israel having been working very hard to encourage aliyah.  Towns like Ofra, for example, did not have any significant French speaking population 10 years ago.  It does now, and it's not the only one.

French Jews ARE leaving France, in spite the "rabbis" and brainwashed colaborators putting stumbling blocks in front of them.

But, how many more will be able to make it out, before it's too late?

Arutz 7 Still Doesn't Get It About Christians (Updated!)

Yeah, I know, I know....  Don't shoot the messenger.

The point of this post is not to criticize Arutz 7 (Israel National News) for reporting the news.  It IS to criticize Arutz 7 for omitting parts of the full story.

Here's the gist of what they wrote:
Arutz 7: 3,000 Christians Support Israel
The International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem [ICEJ] hosts 3,000 Christians from around the world who come to express their support for Israel.

Elad Benari & Yedidya Ben Or, October 4, 2012

About 3,000 Christians from around the world attended on Tuesday a huge event in support of Israel. The participants included members of pro-Israel lobbies from the U.S. Congress and from parliaments around the world.

The event is an annual conference held every year during the holiday of Sukkot and hosted by the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. The event was planned by the International Israel Allies Caucus Foundation, headed by former MK Rabbi Benny Elon, as well as the World Jewish Congress and the Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs. Participants included members of the U.S. Congress and parliamentarians from Canada, Brazil, Finland, Macedonia, the Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Spain, Uruguay, Portugal and the UK.

The event was also attended by Minister of Information and Diaspora Yuli Edelstein and World Jewish Congress Secretary-General Dan Dicker. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent a video greeting...
The rest of the report is just additional details,...as in "The Devil is in the details...."  You read and see for yourself, by clicking the link above.

What Arutz 7 did NOT report about ICEJ was reported by Jewish Israel.  The below information is nothing new.  Fortunately, Jewish Israel knows that, unfortunately, we Jews can have very short memories.
ICEJ declares that their core mission is to tell the world that jesus is coming back and to spread that word from Jerusalem

This September 2012 video from the international director of the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem (ICEJ) makes it clear that ICEJ's "core" mission is to let the world know of "the return of the lord jesus", and to spread that news from Jerusalem to the nations. Is this the "Christian Zionist" message that the Jewish State should be supporting?
I don't know about you, but the title was pretty clear to me.

It also leaves me with a few questions:
1. Is Arutz 7 knowingly or unknowingly "aiding and abetting" the ICEJ in fulfilling its core mission?

2. Is the Israeli Government knowingly or unknowingly "aiding and abetting" the ICEJ in fulfilling its core mission?
3. Do Arutz 7 and the Israeli Government really think that the following pasuq from the Torah doesn't apply to them?
Deuteronomy 16:19 Do not twist judgment; do not show deference; and do not take a bribe; for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise, and distorts the words of the righteous.
Inquiring minds want to know....

OK.  So, I guess that was silly to expect that most members of the Israeli Government would actually be concerned in the least about what is written in the Torah, save for the occasional opportunity to pervert the Torah by using it to support government policies.

But, Religious Zionist Arutz 7?  What's their excuse?

Jewish Israel was even interviewed on one of Arutz 7's own radio talk shows, Derech Eretz, as recently as a month and half ago, albeit I do not know if the ICEJ's agenda was covered.

On a final note, I guess I wrong about the title of this post.  It should have been...

Arutz 7 And The Israeli Government Still Don't Get It About Christians

Update!
W
To Arutz 7's Credit, one staff member posted the following:

Activists: Beware Concerned Christians
At least two prominent Jerusalemites believe that Israel is “selling its soul” to Christian missionaries for their political support

David Lev, October 4, 2012

While many Israelis welcome the support shown by evangelical Christians for the State of Israel, at least two prominent Jerusalemites – [former] city council member Mina Fenton and real estate activist develop Aryeh King – believe that Israel is “selling its soul” to Christian missionaries. And, they say, they represent many other Israelis who are uncomfortable with the idea of Christian missionaries taking such a prominent role in support for Israel. The organizers of the Christian “Feast of Tabernacles” celebration, who have brought more than 3,000 tourists to Israel for the week of Sukkot, “have their own interests, namely the spreading of the vision of their messiah and the arrival of his kingdom,” said Fenton. While all people are free to believe and worship as they wish, Fenton said, Jews must proclaim that their Messianic vision is at odds with the Christian one. The Christians' profession of “love for the Jewish people,” she said, is a “mask” for their true desire, which is to convert the Jews to their religion. “When they talk about the rebuilding of the Temple, they mean it to be a Christian temple,” Fenton said. As far as they are concerned, the establishment of the State of Israel, as far as evangelicals are concerned, is a Christian event in and of itself, Fenton said, because it advances the Christian messianic agenda.

“There are people, especially on the right, who are prepared to pay a price [of getting close to Christians] that great rabbis of the Jewish people rejected for generations,” said King. The Chief Rabbinate has gone on record as opposing the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem [ICEJ] – but, said King, many in the religious community are hesitant to speak up because of the massive support that evangelicals provide Israel, in a world where such support is in short supply.

Fenton and King suggest that Israelis and American Jews get to know the “real” feelings and beliefs of the evangelicals organizing events like the Feast of Tabernacles via Youtube videos, where viewer can see what their beliefs are on the role of the Jewish people and the State of Israel in Christian “end of times” theology. Particularly interesting, they said, is the Christian viewpoint on Jerusalem. “Jerusalem will not be a Jewish city, they say this openly,” said Fenton adding that she finds it difficult to understand how people with such views are part of the political discussion on the future of the city.
Still, David, you left the part out about how they're not just trying to steal souls.  They want our Land, too!

Why is this Christian couple living in a caravan (trailer) somewhere in the Shomron?
*Note: When clicking on the link to the video, it now comes up as "Private."  How convenient...
Which family from Azza or Beth-El is homeless and couch-surfing because a Christian couple has taken away its heritage?

Why are residents of K'far Tapu'ah, Har Berakhah, and Itamar violating a negative commandment, by helping them to settle here?

Now, go read Zekhariah Ch. 12-14.  The pen truly is mightier than the sword,...so far.

The Grinch Who Stole Sukkos

So, I see this post from someone I think I may becoming friends with.  He wants to make aliyah, that is, to immigrate to Israel, and make his home here...
"Chabad Sukkot are the only places where you'll see girls in booty shorts shake a lulav and etrog. And she isn't getting screamed at."
Here are my Esser Agaroth ("two cents")...
That's because Chabba"d needs to get its priorities straight.

Filling up the "mitzvah piggy bank" until it reaches some sort of superstitious, critical mass, should not be one of them.  And, Chabba"d isn't the only culprit on this front.

This concept has only existed for about 500 yrs. It's absent from the Ramba"m, which Chabba"dniks tout and learn. But, since they AND everyone else loves to project their hashqafah (pre-existing point of view) onto every source (and onto every non-source) to prove their point.

Women are exempt for the misswoth of Lulav and Sukkah. (Ramba"m, Hil. Sukkah 6:1, Hil. Lulav 7:18).

So, the next time you see women taking up space in a sukkah, preventing the men, waiting outside to come in, to fulfill their obligation, maybe blame Chabba"d.

Worse yet, when the Chabba"d ladies take up space in a public sukkah, in order to do their "important mitzvah work," of giving a woman the opportunity to do something she is exempt from doing, they may actually be preventing a man from entering the sukkah to eat, who might normally not be concerned about it.

After all, this man sees that there isn't any room for him to sit down.  Not cool.

I know, I know... You'll be calling me "The Grinch Who Stole Sukkos," soon enough.

Whatever...
Then later, I wrote...
Stop playing with ghetto boys, get your degree or whatever the hell you're doing there, and get on the plane!
I wonder how much flack I will get from THAT comment.
