לפני כשלוש שנים נשברה לי כף הרגל. היה לי גבס חודש וחצי והסתובתי בקביים כחודשיים. בזכות הנסיון הזה אני מבין את התנאים של הנכים בארץ עוד טיפ-טיפה יותר. וכן עכשיו אני ממש מבין את כל המחאות וחסימות הכבישים על ידי הנכים שאנו סובלים מדי פעם. צפו את הסרטון למטה לדוגמת מחאה שלא טרח לציבור כל-כך כרגיל.

הנה התלונות שלי. הן לא נגד הממשלה בלבד אלא גם נגד האחים והשכנים שלנו:

חסר רמפות למקומות שאין בם מעליות. ב״ה בקביים אני הצלחתי לרדת במדרגות לאט לאט. אבל מה קורה לכאלה העוברים בכסאות גלגלים?

תחנות האוטובוסים הן לא חניות לרכבים! ואפילו זמנית! האוטובוסים לא יכולים להתקרב למדרכה בכלל כשרכבים חוסמים להם את הדרך. במצב כזה קשה מאוד למי שהולך בקביים לעלות לאוטובוס מהכביש. ואי אפשר בכלל לכיסא גלגלים.

אולי מישהו לוקח מעט זמן יותר מהרגיל לחצות את הכביש והרכב לפניכם עצר בשבילו. אין צורך לצפצף מייד. אלא להמתין דקה לפחות לפני להתעצבן על המצב.

רטיבות בדרך היחידה! מי שמתהלך בקביים יכול לעקוף את המקום הרטוב. אבל אם זו הדרך היחידה הוא יכול ליפול להפגע ואפילו למות מהנפילה.

לא לגעת בנכה כדי לעזור לו ללא לשאול מקודם. יש אפשרות להבהיל אותו וככה הוא יכול ליפול. ואולי הוא לא רוצה עזרה. אולי הרופא או פיזיותרפיסט שלו רוצה שהוא עושה את מה שצריך לבד.

אני חוזר: לא לגעת בנכה כדי לעזור לו ללא לשאול מקודם. ולא להתיחס אליו כילד קטן! אלא להתיחס אליו כבן אדם רגיל כי הוא כן בן אדם רגיל. פשוט יש לו הגבלות.

הצד החיובי שבדבר, שאנשים רצו לעזור לי, נתתו לי לשבת במושבים מיועדים לנכה ללא צורך לבקש.

כשמישהו חוצה את הכביש לאט והרכב לפניכם עוצר בשבילו אין שום צורך לצפצף מייד. אלא נא להמתין דקה לפחות לפני להתעצבן בגלל העיכוב.

כשמישהו חוצה את הכביש באיטיות והרכב שלפניכם עוצר עבורו, אין צורך לצפצף מיד. אלא אנא המתינו לפחות חצי דקה לפני שאתם מתעצבנים בגלל העיכוב. ראיתי שנהגים שעשו זאת, ניפנפו לי יד במה שכנראה היה התנצלות, כשהם ראו שהייתי בקביים.

הצד החיובי שבדבר, שאנשים רצו לעזור לי, נתנו לי לשבת במושבים מיועדים לנכה ללא צורך לבקש.

אני גם רוצה להודות ליד שרה עמותה ללא מטרות רווח המשאילה ציוד רפואי ושיקום ללא תשלום.

About three years ago I broke my foot. Since then I have been working on and off on this post. I decided to finish it - yes, even during attacks on us by Iran -- because the daughter of friends of mine broke her ankle while heading downstairs toward a protected area during an attack.

It seemed appropriate to post this, since, unfortunately, some of our friends and neighbor, and needless to say, our soldiers, will be added to the list of disabled people in Israel. The issues and solutions I propose here are not political, or at least they should not be. They are just common sense.

I was in a cast for a month and a half and I on crutches for about two months. Thanks to this experience, I understand the conditions of the disabled in Israel a little more. And yes, now I really understand all the protests and roadblocks by the disabled that we suffer from time to time. Watch the video below for an example of a protest that didn't bother the public as much as usual.

Here are my complaints, not only against the government but also against our brothers and neighbors:

Lack of ramps to places without elevators. With crutches I was able to go down the stairs little by little. God help me, if the stairs were wet! And what happens to those in wheelchairs?

The bus stops are not car parks! And even temporarily! The buses cannot approach the sidewalk at all when vehicles block their way. In such a situation it is very difficult for someone who walks on crutches to get on the bus from the road. And it's not possible at all for a wheelchair.

Maybe someone is taking a little longer than usual to cross the road and the vehicle in front of you has stopped for him. No need to beep right away. But wait at least a minute before getting upset about the situation.

Moisture is the only way! Those who walk with crutches can bypass a place that is wet, or where there is a puddle. But if this is the only way, he can fall and get hurt and even die from the fall.

Do not touch a disabled person to help him without asking first. There is a possibility of startling him and causing him to fall. And maybe he doesn't want your help. Maybe his doctor or physical therapist wants him to do what is needed on his own. 

I repeat: do not touch a disabled person to help him without asking first. And don't treat him like a little child! Treat him as an ordinary person because he is indeed an ordinary person. He just has limitations.

When someone crosses the road slowly and the vehicle in front of you stops for them, there is no need to beep immediately. But please wait at least half a minute before getting upset because of the delay. I did see that drivers doing this, gave me what was presumably an apology wave, when they saw the situation.

The positive side of it, people wanted to help me, they let me sit in seats designated for the disabled without having to ask.

לפני כחודש הייתי בחנות פיצוחים הרגילה שלי. פתאום אני שמעתי את מנהלת המשמרת, ״אוי וויי זמיר!״, קיצור של ״אוי וויי איז מיר״. (״אוי ואבוי״ באידיש)

אני הסתכלתי לה כדי לדעת מה קרה ואם היא בסדר. מייד היא שאלה אותי, ״מה? אתה מופתע שאני אשכנזיה?״ כנראה היא שאלה את זה כי היא בעלת גון עור די כהה ורמזה את חוויות שלה של גזענות.

״לא. אני פשוט התפלאתי לשמוע אידיש,״ אני עניתי. וממשכתי, ״אני מבין את זה. כולם מניחים שאני אשכנזי למרות שאני לא. בגלל גון העור שלי או בגלל המבטא [אמריקאי] שלי״.

לפני חודשיים התקיים האירוע של זייוניס (המודעה להלן) בחסות הפדרציה היהודית, גשר רחב יותר ו-IPF ATID.

אם האירוע התקיים לפי הפרסום שלו, אז האירוע היה גזעני.

"ספרדים, מזרחים וכל יהודי צבע"

אבל יהודים אשכנזים שנרצחו בטבח של יותר מ-1,200 יהודים על ידי חמאס ואזרחי עזה, מה איתם? היו צריכים לקיים אזכרה בנפרד? האם שכחו, לא נכללו, הוזלו על ידי קיום אירוע הזיכרון הזה? לדעת זייוניס הם היו מיוחסים מדי, מפונקים מדי, זכאים מדי, אפילו במוות?

קיום האירוע הזה לא העצים את אף אחד. זה היה מפלג. זו לא הייתה חגיגה של גיוון אלא הציגה של גזענות.

או שאולי אני טועה. אולי אם יהודי היה כהה מספיק, למרות היותו אשכנזי, אז היהודי הזה היה נכלל.

או אולי ניצלו את ההזדמנות כדי להציג ביטול שיטת נחישות אבהית של השבט, ואלו האשכנזים האפלים מהממוצע השתחררו בקסם מהיותם אשכנזים. מי יכול לומר?

מה כן אפשר להגיד הוא שאני מודיע על היחס הלקוי ליהודי אתיופיה, פרו והודו בישראל.

אבל, הגיע הזמן לשתחרר מההכחשה שלכם לגבי מי האשמים על כך: האליטה החילונית והשמאלנית היא האשמים, לא הדתיים הלאומיים ולא החרדים.

האליטה החילונית והשמאלנית מפעילה לחץ על "הספרדים, המזרחים ויהודי הצבע" לזרוק את הכיפות מהראש ולחזור בשאלה.

האליטה החילונית והשמאלנית שקיבלה את עולי ממרוקו בשמחה - חכו לזה - כדי שהבחורים המרוקאים יכולים להיות חיילים קרביים ולהלחם במלחמותיהם במקום ילדיהם. ילדיהם שירתו בצה"ל כג׳ובניקים והכירו הרבה פרוטקסיה חדשה. כיום, הם אפילו לא משרתים כג׳ובניקים אלא שולחים אותם להשיג פטור פסיכיאטרי.

בעוד שיהודי אתיופיה זוכים ליחס כפי שהם, אתיופים הלא-יהודים מקבלים כסף והזדמנויות שהיו צריכים להיות מיועדים ליהודים. רבנים ראשיים האתיופיים מזהירים את ממשלת ישראל מפניהם במהלך שנים רבים. לא נראה שאכפת לממשלה מדעותם.

כנראה הדוגמה הפחות מעודנת למעשי האליטה החילונית ושמאלניה התרחשה בתקופת כהונתו של אברהם פורז (מפלגת שינוי) כשר הפנים. פורז אסר עלייה מפרו ומהודו. ייתכן שהסיבה הרשמית הייתה שהפרואנים ובני מנשה, ממדינות מיזורם ומניפור בהודו, לא השלימו את תהליך הגיור.

פרו מורכבת מאשכנזים, ספרדים ומומרים, שחלקם מאמינים שהם צאצאים של אנוסים שנחתו בעולם החדש.

לבני המנשה יש מסורת של שהם צאצאים משבט מנשה, והגעה לחלקה המזרחי של הודו משנחאי שבסין. הקוצ'ינים ובני ישראל הם הקהילות ההודיות האחרים שבהודו.

הקהילה הפרואנית קהילת בני מנשה הן בעיקרן דתיות, לרוב מתיישבות ביהודה ושומרון ובעבר בעזה, ורובם מצביעים למפלגות ימין מרכז וימין. לעשות את החשבון. פורז לא שמר את הכלל החשוב ביותר לשמאלנים. הוא לא פעל בסודיות או בעדינות.

הקהילות האלה, האתיופית, הפרונית והודית מופלות לרעה, לא בגלל מוצאן האתני או הגזע או צבע העור, אלא בגלל אמונתן הדתית.

האם זייוניס וארגונים דומים לה מתיחסים לסוגיה זו? האם זייוניס לפחות זיהה את האשמים, כפי שאני מזהה אותם?

About a month ago, I was at my usual pitzuhiah (nuts, dried fruit, and spices store), when I heard the shift manager exclaim, "Oy veyz mir!" (actually Oy vey iz mir), Yiddish for Oh my! or Oh my gosh! It's literally "woe is me!"

Anyway, I turned to look at her, to see what had happened,  and to check if she was ok. She immediately asked me, "What? Are you surprised that I'm Ashkenazi?" She probably asked this because she has a dark complexion. I can only guess that she might also have been hinting at her own experiences with racism.

"No," I said. "I was just surprised to hear Yiddish." Then I continued, "I understand. Everyone assumes I am Ashkenazi even though I am not. Either because of my complexion or because of my [American] accent. I dunno."

This brings us to the above announcement the event by Zioness, co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation, A Wider Bridge and IPF ATID, held two months ago.

If the event was true to its publicity, then it was racist.

"Sephardic, Mizrahi, and all Jews of Color"

But Ashkenazy Jews who were killed in the massacre of 1,200 plus Jews by Hamas and Gaza civilians, what? Had to have a separate memorial? Were forgotten, excluded, discounted by this memorial event? Too privileged, too spoiled, too entitled, even in death?

This was not empowering. This was divisive. This was not a celebration of diversity. This was just plain ol' racism.

Or maybe I got it wrong. Maybe if a Jew was dark enough, in spite of being Ashkenazy, then that Jew would have been considered.

Or maybe the opportunity was taken to quash the patriarchal concept of paternal determination of tribe, and those darker than average Ashkenazim were magically liberated from being Ashkenazy. Who can say?

What I can say is that I am the first to call out the poor treatment of Ethiopian, Peruvian, and Indian Jews in Israel.

But, it is time to snap you out of your denial regarding who the culprits are behind their poor treatment: The secular, leftist elite are the culprits, not the Religious Zionists nor the Haredim.

The secular, leftist elite asserts pressure on the "Sephardi, Mizrchi, and Jews of Color" to throw off their kippot (religious head covering), and to leave the path of Torah observance.

The secular, leftist elite which welcomed Jews from Morocco -- wait for it -- so that Moroccan children could go fight in their wars, while their children spent their IDF service at some desk. Nowadays, they do not even bother with the desk. Instead they just send them to procure a psychiatric exemption from military service.

While Ethiopian Jews are treated the way they are, Ethiopian non-Jews, whom the Ethiopian Chief Rabbis have warned the Israeli government about, receive money and opportunities which should have been designated for Ethiopian Jews.

Probably the least subtle example of secular, leftist elitism occurred during the tenure of Avraham Poraz (Shinui) as Minister of the Interior, 2003-2004. Poraz banned aliyah from Peru and from India. The official reason may have been that these Peruvians and B'nei Menashe, of the Mizoram and Manipur states in India, had not completed their conversion processes.

Perú is made up of Ashkenazy, Sephardi, and converts, some of whom believe they are descendants of conversos who landed in the New World.

The B'nei Menashe maintain a tradition of descendancy from the Tribe of Menashe, and arriving in the eastern part of India from Shanghai, China. The Cochin and the B'nei Yisrael make up the other Indian Jewish communities.

Both communities are primarily Orthodox, often settle in Judea and Samaria, and previously in Gaza, and tend to vote for right of center and right-wing parties. You do the math. Poraz broke the leftist, cardinal rule about subtly.

These communities, Ethiopian, Peruvian, and Indian are discriminated against, not because of their ethnicity, but because of their religious beliefs.

Will Zioness, and similar organizations ever address this issue? Did they at least identify the culprits, as I have done here?

בתחלת התורה אנו לומדים את דעתו של הקב"ה לגבי המאמצים למען הגלובליסטיים (כיבוש עולמי) על ידי הגוים.

תגובתו הייתה לפלג את בוני מגדל בבל באמצעי בילבול תקשרתם.

עד היום אנו משתמשים בשורש ב/ב/ל בגלל מעשה מגדל בבל ואז העונש על ידי הקב״ה כגון לבלבל ולהתבלבל.

גם באנלגית יש קשר בין שימוש במילה babel לבילבול.

בתשנ״ז/1997 אני עליתי לארץ. התפלאתי כששמעתי הרבה מילים משפה אנגלית בשיחות בעברית! אני עשיתי סטאג׳ בבית ספר יסודי ואמרתי למורה אחרת על כמה זה מפריע לי.

בתגובה המורה הזו אמרה לי את זה:

בכל דור ודור הגויים מנסים לתקן תיקון מגדל בבל באמצעי שליטת העולם של שפה יחידה, כפי שהיה לפני הניסיון לבנות את המגדל. היום השפה הזו היא אנגלית.

לא מזמן השפה הזו הייתה צרפתית, ולכן הביטוי לינגואה פרנקה (השפה הצרפתית) שכוונתו היא השפה הבינלאומית.

בשנה הבאה בבית ספר אחר אני זוכר שפעם בישיבת הצוות המנהלת אמרה לנו שאסור להיות מופתעים כי זה לא משהו out of the blue (פתאום מן השמים).

כמה שנים אחר מכן, אני קיבלתי טלוויזיה-רדיו בשחור-לבן בגודל 3.5 אינץ'. גרתי בישוב עם שירות לווייני ואז קיבלתי שידור משלוש תחנות הטלוויזיה הישראליות. כמות האנגלית ששמעתי בטלוויזיה בשפה עברית הבהילה אותי. בשנת 2001, בעיקר מה ששמעתי היה בתכניות אירוח כדי לתת למנחה להשוויץ.

וגם השנה הזו ראש הממשלה דאז, אריאל שרון, הכריז ש"ערפאת לא רלוונטי" (לא קישור, שייך, או חשוב לעניין).

השימוש של שרון במילה העברית החדשה כביכול relavanti ציין את תחילת הקץ. הוא פתח את הדלתות למילים לועזיות להכנס לשפה עברית. מעשה זה נתן תעודת כשרות לבשר חזיר והתחיל את תהליך דילל של לשון עברית.

הטבלה להנן היא רק דוגמה של המון מילים אנגלית שהבריחו לעברית המדוברת והכתובה ב-25 השנים האחרונות ולפני כן.

עם האינטרנט והתלות שלנו בו שליטתה של השפה האנגלית בעולם נראת בלתי ניתנת לעצירה. וזה לשמחתו של הערב-רב (שמות יב,לח). היום הם כאילו התרומה שלנו למפעל הגלובליסטי (איחוד העולם בכוח שלטון יחידה).

ערב הוא לשון עירוב. הם אוהבים לערבב הכל כגון עמים, שטחי עמים, נישואים, וככל הנראה אפילו שפות, כל העירבובים האלה למען המטרה הסופית שלהם שהיא השמדת עם ישראל מבפנים. מתכוונים להשיג את המטרה זו באמצעי התבוללות היהודים בתוך אומות העולם.

ברור שהתורה נוגדת בגלובליזם של בגוים. אלא היא בעד לאומנית. ולאומיות היא לא רק לישראלאלא גם לכל אומות העולם. לכל אומה יש תפקיד שלו. כמה מהם בעולם הזה כדי לעזור לנו. כמה מהם כדי לבחון אותנו, או ללחוץ אותנו להתקדם ולהתפתח. והים זאת אומרת ללצאת מהגלות של אדום (המערב) גם מארצות הגולה וגם מראש גלותי. נראה שרובם לא מודעים לכך. אפילו יש יהודים מתבלבלים לגבי תפקידיהם, מי החברים שלנו ומי האויבים שלנו. (רמז: גם הנוצרים, וגם חברי הסכמי אברהם וגם השמאלנים חסרי מוסר מיני אינם חברים שלנו.)

המורה שהייתי בסטאז׳ שלי הבינה כמה מאוכזב אני הייתי לגבי מצב הלשון שלנו. לכן הוא אמרה לי:

אל תדאג כי יש רק תיקון אחד של מגדל בבל והוא עברית, לא אנגלית.

השפעת ישראל תגיע לארבע כנפות הארץ, אך לא למען גאוותנו, אלא למען כבוד ה'.

עד ביאת המשיח תעשו לעצמכם טובה. ללמוד את טבלה להלן, ותקפידו על כך שבזמן דיבור עברית, תשתמשו במילים בעברית בפועל (מילות השפה שלנו) במקום במילים באנגלית (מילות השפה שלהם).

Very early on in the Torah we see The Almighty's attitude toward the globalist efforts of the goyim (non-Jews).

His response was to divide them by confounding their ability to communicate.

Even today, we use the word babel. This comes directly from the name of this city and tower of Bavel (Babylon).

Babel is also the root in Hebrew confusion: לבלבל to confuse; להתבלבל to become confused.

When I first arrived in Israel in תשנ״ז/1997, and was doing my student teaching, I mentioned to the teacher I was working with, all of the English words I was hearing used instead of Hebrew. It bothered me greatly.

The teacher with whom I was working offered the following suggestion:

In every generation, the goyim attempt to make a tikkun (repair, correction, improvement) for the "Tower" by establishing the dominance of one language, as there was was before the attempt to build the tower. 

Today that language is English. Now so long ago, that singular language was French, thus the expression Lingua Franca.

My next year of student teaching was marked by a principal telling the staff that we shouldn't be surprised (by whatever she was talking about), because it wasn't something "out of the blue."

A couple years later, I was given a 3 1/2 inch black and white television/radio. I was living in a town which has satellite service, so I ogt the three Israeli television stations perfectly. The amount of English I heard on television, which had sneaked into usage by native Hebrew speakers was astounding. Yet in 2001, it was still mostly just thrown around by talkshow hosts in order to show off.

However, 2001 was also the year in which then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon declared the "Arafat was not relevant," using the newly concocted Hebraicized word רלוונטי relavanti.

Sharon's use of the new fangled word relavanti marked the beginning of the end. He had opened the floodgates, giving legitimacy to Hebraicizing English words, and incorporating them into the fabric of the increasingly non-Hebrew, Hebrew language.

The embedded table is only a sample of the avalanche of English invading spoken and written Hebrew over the past 25 years and before.

With the exponential growth of the Internet over the years, and our dependence on it, the dominance of the English language in the world has seemed unstoppable, to the joy of the Erev Rav, the Erev Rav being descendants of false converts who left Egypt with us (Ex. 12:38). They are now the Jewish People's embarrassing and destructive contribution to the globalist enterprise.

Erev is from the Hebrew to mix. They like to mix everything, peoples, territories, marriages, and apparently even languages, all for the ultimate goal of the destruction of the Jewish People from within. This goal is to be achieved in part through the active assimilation of the our people among the non-Jewish cultures of the world.

The Torah is clearly the antithesis of globalism, in other words, it is nationalist. And nationalism is not just a mandate for Israel, manifested though it separate and distinct status. All peoples on this earth have their have their role. Some of them are here to help us. Some of them are hear to test us, or to push to come into our own, most of them do not seeming to be aware of this. Even Jews can get confused over who is who, which are our friends and which are our enemies. (Hint: Neither Christians, Abraham Accords members, nor progressives are our friends.

The teacher I mentioned before also had this to say, when she saw how disappointed I was with her accurate assessment of world's linguistic situation:

Don't worry, because the only tikkun of the Tower of Babel is Hebrew, not English.

Surely in the end, the Mashi'ah (Messiah) will rule, and the majority of the world will finally accept the Torah as the only truth. Israel's influence will reach the four corners of the earth, but not for our own gain, but rather for the Glory of The Almighty.

As it is written...

Yea, He says: 'It is too light a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the offspring of Israel; I will also give you for a light of the nations, that My salvation may be to the end of the earth.' (Isaiah 49:6)

In the meantime, do yourselves a favor by studying the embedded table, and make a point that while speaking Hebrew, use actual Hebrew words (our words) instead of English words (their words).

לפני כמה ימים אני נכנסתי לבית הקפה הרגיל שלי, ראיתי את מנהל המקום מסתובב במטבח עם גבר די צעיר בן לא יותר משלושים וחמש חובש כיפה. היה לו זקן קצוץ, ולבוש כלאחר יד. לאחר שהוא סיים להסתובב ולדבר עם המנהל הוא ישב לשתות קפה בשולחן שבו הוא הניח את קסדה שלו. הקסדה לאופניים או לקורקינט. ידעתי שהוא צריך להיות משגיח הכשרות מקומי.

אחרי עוד כמה דקות ניגש אליו אחד מעובדי בית הקפה כדי לשאול אותו שאלה. לא יכולתי להמנע מלשמוע. העולה החדש יחסי שפנה אליו שאל למי הוא צריך לפנות כדי לברר את דינו כיהודי בעיני הרבנות, ובכך גם המדינה. כמובן שכיום למדינה לא אכפת מי יהודי ומי לא.

אם העולה הזה רוצה להתחתן דרך בארץ ובדרך הרבנות הראשי והנישואים יוכרו רשמית כנישואים כשרים, עליו להוכיח לרבנות שהוא באמת יהודי.

המשגיח נתן לו את המספר שלו ואמר לו ליצור איתו קשר, והוא יכוון אותו הלאה.

אני כותב על החוויה הזו לאור הביקורת המתמשכת על הרבנות בישראל, כולל מצד עצמי.

הביקורת כוללת איך הרבנות מתיחסת לאלה שרוצים להתגייר ולתהליך הגיור בכלל, ושהרבנות צריכה להחמיר פחות. אני לא מסכים עם הביקורת הזו.

בגלל אלו שעוברים תהליך גיור שקר למשל דרך התנועה הרפורמית, בני זוג של ישראלים שעוברים גיור לא-אכפתית ממניעים נסתרים, והנוצרים המתגנבים דרך הדלת האחורית הזו, על הרבנות לשמור על עמדותיה הנוכחיות.

מאז שאני זוכר בית המשפט העליון מחליש את כוחה של הרבנות ומקדים את האג'נדה שלו להפוך את מדינת ישראל היהודית והדמוקרטית למדינה יותר "דמוקרטית" ופחות "יהודית". ובאותו רגע משטה את העם להאמין ששתי התכונות הללו הן כאחת ואותו דבר למעשה. כמובן זה לא נכון. מערכת שלטונית יוונית (הלניסטית) אינה משתווה למערכת יהודית.

הרבנות בכלל לא מושלמת. אבל למרבה הצער, כולנו מתרכזים יותר מדי בפוליטיקה המדווחת על הרבנים הראשיים וצוותיהם, ובאמירות של דעותיהם בהלכה שהוצאו מהקשרם.

מצד שני, לא מדווחים את החוויות החיוביות שלנו עם נציגיה המקומיים בשטח, שמדברים עם אנשים פנים אל פנים, כמו הרב צעיר ונגיש בבית קפה.

אבל הדבר האחרון שאנחנו צריכים הוא ארגונים כמו צהר ובית הלל להשתלט וליצור את הרבנות מחדש בצלמיהם. בין אם הם מבינים זאת ובין אם לא, ארגונים כאלה רק יזרזו להקדים את האג'נדה 'ערב רב' של בית המשפט העליון והיא מדינת ישראל לא יהודית, מעין דמוקרטית, למרות שכולם מאמינים שהיא כן מדינה יהודית.

The other day when I came into my regular café, I saw the manager walking around the kitchen, talking to a man wearing a kippah (Jewish male head covering). He could not have been older than in his thirties, with a cropped beared, dressed casually. After finishing with the manager, he sat down to drink his coffee, at the table wear he had set down his helmet, made for either a bicycle or scooter. I determined that he was a local mashgi'ah kashruth (kosher supervisors).

A few minutes later, one of the café's employees approached him to ask him a question. I could not but help overhearing. The relatively new immigrant who approached him asked who he should contact to work out his status as a Jew in the eyes of the Rabbinate, and thus the State. Of course, the State couldn't care less. Just come to Israel, and look around.

If this young man wants to get married through the official Jewish channels in Israel, and have that marriage officially recognized as a koshe one, he must demonstrate to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel that he is, in fact, a Jew.

The mashgi'ah gave him his number, and said to contact him, and that he would direct him further.

I am taking the time relay this experience, in light of the continuous criticism of the Rabbanate in Israel, including from myself.

The criticism includes how it deals with those desiring to convert and conversion in general, and that the Rabbinate could be less stringent. I do not share this criticism.

With of those having gone through fake conversions such as through the Reform Movement, boyfriends, girlfriends, even spouses of Israelis going through the motions of conversion with ulterior motives, and the Christians sneaking in through this backdoor, the Rabbinate must maintain its current standards.

The Israeli Supreme Court has been chipping away at the Rabbinate's power since I can remember, pushing its agenda to make the Jewish, democratic State of Israel more "democratic" than "Jewish," and fooling the populace into believing that these two qualities are one and the same. Even though they are not. A Hellenist governmental system does not equal a Jewish one.

The Rabbinate is far from perfect. But unfortunately, we are all too wrapped up in the politics reported about about the Chief Rabbis and their staffs, and statements of their politically-incorrect halakhic (Torah legal) opinions, taken out of context. "The Torah is not politically-correct; it is absolutely correct, regardless of the nuances among the various rabbinic opinions of its understanding.

On the other hand, what does not get reported are our positive experiences with its local representatives in the field, working directly with the people, like a young, casual, and approachable rabbi in a café.

The last thing we need are the Tzohars and Beit Hillels to take over and remake it in their own image. Whether they realize it or not, organizations like these will only serve to hasten the realization of the Israeli Supreme Court's Erev Rav agenda, a non-Jewish, quasi-democratic State of Israel, with everyone fooled into believing that it is Jewish.

בשעות האחרונות התקיים במרכז הרפואי לגליל מפגש בהשתתפות ראשי רשויות מהגליל, ובהם: רונן מרלי, ראש עיריית נהריה ויו"ר אשכול רשויות גליל מערבי; משה דוידוביץ', ראש מועצה אזורית מטה אשר ויו"ר פורום קו העימות; סלמאן מולא, ראש מועצת ירכא; פואד עווד, ראש מועצת מזרעה ועיליא עבד, ראש מועצת מעיליא.

במפגש, בהובלת מנהל המרכז הרפואי, פרופ' מסעד ברהום, ובשיתוף עמותת הידידים, דנו המשתתפים באתגרים של המרכז הרפואי והרשויות המקומיות הסמוכות, ובמטרה להדק את שיתוף הפעולה בין הצדדים.

ראשי הרשויות העבירו מסר ברור לממשלה: "אם לא עכשיו, אימתי?! חובה כעת, בימי המלחמה, לחזק את ביה"ח המרכזי בגליל, הנמצא 9 ק"מ מהגבול הצפוני, להגדיל תשתיותיו ולהזרים תקציבים, שהובטחו לו מזמן ואשר יבטיחו את איתנותו".

בראיון רדיו, שנערך מיד עם תום המפגש המיוחד, אמר פרופ' ברהום: "עלולה להיפתח מלחמה ללא התרעה, וחשוב שנהיה מוכנים. במקרה של מתקפת טילים בגליל, אנו מצפים לתרחיש של אלפי טילים ביום, שיהיה גרוע בהרבה ממה שהיה כאן במלחמת לבנון השנייה. במקרים כאלו, עלולה להיות פגיעה בצירי הדרכים, ולפחות בימים הראשונים, אנו עלולים לפעול כ'אי בודד'. לכן, אנו ממשיכים להיערך לכל התרחישים".

מדוע יש צורך לתרגם אותו לאנגלית? ובכן, בבית החולים הזה היו מבקרים נוצרים מחו"ל. האם זו דרך לבקש תרומות? האם זו דרך לעדכן את התורמים שלו?

אזעקות מפני טילים נשמעות רק לעתים רחוקות בנהריה, פעם בשבוע לכל היותר. אז איזה תזמון מצוין מצד חיזבאללה להפחיד אותנו? דווקא בשקיעת החמה בערב שבת משגרים טילים? יכול להיות. אני זוכר שאותו דבר קרה בשנת 2014 בירושלים, שמענו אזעקה ממש בשקיעה.

Today, the heads of municipalities in the Galilee, including Ronen Marelly, Mayor of Nahariya and Chairman of Eshkol Western Galilee Municipalities; Moshe Davidovich, Head of Meta Asher Regional Council and Chairman of the Forum Conflict Line Communities; Salman Mulla, Head of the Yerka Council; Fouad Awad, Head of Mazraa Council; and Ilia Abed, Head of Mailia Council, gathered for a meeting at Galilee Medical Center to discuss the situation in the north. The meeting was led by Prof. Masad Barhoum, Director of the Medical Center, in cooperation with the Medical Center's Friends Association.

The participants discussed the challenges faced by the medical center and the nearby local authorities, aiming to strengthen cooperation. The municipal leaders sent a clear message to the government: "If not now, when?! It is necessary now, during the war, to strengthen the central hospital in the Galilee, which is 6 miles from the northern border, to increase its infrastructure and inject budgets that were promised long ago to ensure its stability."

In a radio interview conducted immediately after the meeting, Prof. Barhoum said: "A war may break out without warning, and it is important that we be prepared. In the case of a missile attack in the Galilee, we expect a scenario of thousands of missiles per day, which will be much worse than what happened here in the Second Lebanon War. In such cases, there may be damage to the roads, and at least for the first few days, we may operate as a 'lone island'. Therefore, we continue to prepare for all scenarios."

Why bother to put this out in English? Well, this hospital has had Christian visitors from abroad. Is this a way soliciting donations? Is this a way of keeping their donors up to date?

Nahariya has rarely had missle warning sirens go off, once per week at most. So, What Excellent timing from Hezbollah to scare us? It could be. I recall that the same thing occurring in 2014 in Jerusalem, with a siren right at sheqi'ath hahamah (sunset), Erev Shabboth (Friday).

Well, according to the City of Nahariya WhatsApp message:

So, the question remains. Are they trying to scare us, or are they trying to get us ready for something big?

My guess is both.

As always, it doesn't matter if the threat is real. And the likes of Hezbollah, Hamas, and Fatah (so-called Palestinian Authority) really do want to wipe us out.

We must always keep in mind that the Erev Rav is always looking for opportunities for Israel to relinquish territory, and always framing it, as if it is for our own good.

קיבלתי הודעה מספרת על המקרה הזה:

מישהו קיבל שיחת טלפון ממי שאמר שהוא נהג אמבולנס. הנהג טען שאמא שלו באמבולנס וביקש ממנו לאן להביא אותה. הוא שאל מה הכתובת שלו וביקש עוד מידע פרטי.

אבל הנהג כביכול טעה מפני שאמא של האיש שהוא מתקשר אליו נפטרה לפני כשבע שנים.

בסוף האיש שקיבל את השיחה זיהה מבטא ערבי וניתק את השיחה ויצר קשר עם המשטרה.

I received a message today about the following:

Someone got a call from someone who said he was an ambulance driver. This driver claimed that the mother of the man he was calling was in his ambulance, and asked him where he should take her. He asked for his address and other personal information.

However, this so-called ambulance driver was wrong because the mother of the man he was calling passed away about seven years ago.

In the end the man who got the call recognized an Arab accent, hung up, and contacted the police.

חדירה לישראל 2.0: מה קורה באמת? / Invasion of Israel 2.0: What is really happening?

הרבה ישראלים כבר שואלים כיצד הדירה הזו יכולה לקרות. ובכן, אני אגיד לך כיצד. זה קרה בגלל אותה הסיבה שהותקפנו, פעם אחר פעם. שנות 2006, 2009, 2014 ו-2021 הן רק כמה דוגמאות.

מה שלא מדווח בחדשות בחו״ל הוא חג שמיני עצרת / שמחת תורה חל בשבת. חשוב לציון שפעם הגוים סיימו הקרבת הקורבנות חג הסוכות שלהם ויצאו. ואז רק היהודים חגג את יום שמיני עצרת.

זו מכה כפולה ליהודים כאשר מתקפה בחג דווקא בחג ליהודים בלבד.

לפני 50 שנה התקיים אותו האירוע במלחמת יום הכיפורים (6 - 25 באוקטובר 1973). שבת / שמיני עצרת הייתה ב-7 באוקטובר. בינתיים, יהודים שומרי תורה ומצוות בחו״ל ממשיכים לחגוג יום נוסף. נמנעים משימוש במכשירים חשמליים, הם שומעים על המלחמה רק משכניהם הלא יהודים, ואז דרך חרושת השמועות.

קונספירציה? אי-כשירות? עוד כניעה לרצון הקהילה הבינלאומית כביכול?

ובכן, זו לא הפעם הראשונה שישראל מנסה להשיג אהדה מהקהילה הבינלאומית. לדברי בארי חמיש, בשנת 1994, לקראת פורים הוטלו ברחבי חברון כרזות בערבית שהכריזו כי יסיימו את מה שהמן התחיל [במגלית אסתר]. שר החוץ שמעון פרס שהוא יכול להשיג שתי מטרות בחץ אחד באמצעות לאפשר לערבים בחברון לבצע התקפות על המתנחלים בחברון: א׳ לחסל מתנחלים החוסמים את דרך השלום ב׳ וקבל אהדה על רצחותיהם. אבל תוכניתו של פרס החזירה את עצמה כאשר יהודי אחד, ד"ר ברוך גולדשטיין הי"ד הגן עליהם.

האם ייתכן ששיטת הפעולה של חלק מכוחות הביטחון הישראליים היא לקבל מידע על תקיפות, ולאפשר לחלקן לעבור בכל זאת? האם זה נעשה על מנת לזכות באהדה? לשמור על ישראלים מפוחדים ותלויים בממשלה כדי "להגן עלינו?" שניהם?

Many Israelis have already begun questioning how this invasion could have happened. Well, I'll tell you why this happened. It is the same reason we have been attacked, time and time again. 2006, 2009, 2014, and 2021 are only a few examples.

The reason we keep getting attacked is because well never finish the job int he first place. The Arabs know this. The Arabs exploit this, time and time again.



Michilta on Deut. 20:8:
"...lest his brethren's heart melt as his heart."
says that if he did not make war with all his heart,
indeed, it is like the one who shed the blood of all,
And about him it says:
"Cursed is the one who does the work of the Lord with a slack hand, and cursed be he that keeps back his sword from blood." (Jer. 48:10)

What is not being reported in the news outside of Israel is that Saturday (Shabbat) was also an important holiday Shemini Atzeret (the eighth day of assembly) / Simhath Torah, marking the end of the Sukkoth (Tabernacles) Festival, when the non-Jews have finished their offerings, and the Jews have one final festival day to themselves (See Lev. 23:39-44 for reference)

It is a double blow to Jews when then attack on a holiday.

Fifty years ago, the same thing happened with the Yom Kippur War (Oct. 6 - 25, 1973). Shabbat / Shemini Atzereth was October 7, thus almost to the day. Meanwhile, Torah observant Jews outside of Israel continue to celebrate an additional day, as dictated by Our Sages z"l. Refraining from using electronic devices, they will hear of the war only from their non-Jewish neighbors, and through the grapevine.

Rabbi David Bar-Hayim recently predicted this outbreak.

I received this report from a source I believe is credible. Turn off the controlled propaganda, use the brain God gave you, and draw your own conclusions:

It's worse, there was a stand down order to the now erased Gaza Division - the murderous farce started at 0400 not 0630... It took the murderous zombie horde no less than an hour to get to towns...

No IAF (Israeli Air Force) action for at least 6 hours, while the hordes freely came and went unbothered and freely through the border "checkpoints". . .

The Navy wiped out the sea incursions - guess they didn't need "intelligence" to stop murderous feces ...

I live close enough to see and hear comings and goings from there, for most of my military service I was attached to that division.

There was unusually heavy weirdness starting at about 0200 - at approx. 0300 there were one or two fighter planes lighting afterburners (sonic booms), one helicopter moving one way which didn't return. Then the sound of Merkava main cannon (105mm or 120mm) firing, then silence. Missile barrages started rising from Gaza. Not a single airplane or helicopter of any kind until at least 6-8 hours later. Probably no less than 5,000 missiles outgoing from Gaza by 0800 (this matches "foreign media reports").

Al-Jazeera Arabic was showing live-streamed operations of the zombie horde (uniformed terrorists) over-running the Gaza Division unopposed, one drone with a bomb blew up on a Merkava (battle tank) and the crew was dragged out and mutilated - none of the soldiers seemed to be armed... The enemy took 4 completely undamaged Merkavas, unopposed, they took some mutilated Jewish survivors of the massacre of Gaza Division right back across the border, through the regular totally unmanned checkpoint, some on vehicles and some being dragged on foot. From some of the footage it was obvious there were "European" looking men (blond and pale skinned) with military haircuts and first-rate equipment and military-bearing wearing beige "covid masks" helping move "prisoners" across the unmanned checkpoints.

The main enemy "force" took, in their own words, more than an hour to get to their target towns - they were followed by "Einsatzgruppen" para-military hordes for looting and kidnapping survivors of the first wave.

I say with certainty this was a "stand-down" order - they do indeed have a very expensive "obstacle" to prevent this, sophisticated tracking surveillance with remote operated machine gun emplacements, and even if they were "overrun by surprise" which is IMPOSSIBLE, the IAF has Apache helicopters for this case, and there were NONE airborne until at least 6 hours later (when hostages were being taken back to Gaza, and the terrorist were coming and going as they pleased in great numbers). The Navy managed to destroy every single enemy that attempted a mass distributed coastal landing without a single loss...

Finally, some time ago, the security for these Southern towns was handled by the Gaza Division (they'd post soldiers at each town, check people coming in and patrol). Then there was a government decision to remove the soldiers and replace them with local civilian civil defense people, but the military defunded the programs and also took away the towns weapons armories that were supposed to be distributed to the local civilian defense persons (so the civil defense asked for personally armed volunteers, and we know how "easy" it is for a Jewish Israeli to get a firearm here).

Note how all the reports in Hebrew keep talking about the "Intelligence Failure" and that it's the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War - not one word about where were the IAF helicopters and planes all those hours (but they talk plenty about how there was no military or police to be found in the towns being slaughtered by the terrorists).

Look at and pay close attention to what time this guy posted his heroic crushing of the murderous vermin who had already killed others in his town, as one example of many:

"I got up in the morning to smoke a cigarette. It was 6:15 a.m. Dawn had barely broken. Suddenly I saw a trail of light in the sky and that's how this absurd scenario began. Little by little the horrible picture became clearer," Nava Anker, who is a member of Kibbutz Nirim told Ynet. She said her son also lives in Nirim with his three daughters. "Only later did we realize that we were surrounded by terrorists. We heard small arms fire. The IDF forces arrived after seven hours or so." (YNET)

A few additional thoughts from me:

Expect war lockdowns and heightened censorship for your safety. Emergency government = emergency powers, and we know how they depend on emergencies. Do not trust the people who are supposed to be "protecting" you. They are your worst enemies.

Someone who responded to my first email put it best: "My first thought when I saw the news early this morning was that a government established by Nazi collaborators, that slaughters its babies, and kills and maims its citizens with medical tyranny (COVID vaccine and restrictions) would absolutely allow an enemy attack with all its suffering, wounded and dead."

This wasn't an intelligence failure. On the contrary; the operation was executed as planned.

In case you still find it hard to believe that the Erev Rav who sold you out so many times would allow this to happen, this comes from another astute commenter:

The Gaza border: one of the most fortified and technologically advanced borders in the world, teeming with combat soldiers, battalions of tanks, and a heavy air force presence. There are multiple systems in place there including;

1. Static thermal imaging observation posts.
2. Manned patrol vehicles.
3. Static manned observation posts.
4. Subterranean RADAR.
5. Reconnaissance drones.
6. Reconnaissance aircraft.
7. Autonomous patrol vehicles.
8. Fence motion detection.
9. Bomb proof multi-layered reinforced fence set in concrete.

None of the above was working. Hamas militants were able to cross open ground and infiltrate into multiple Israeli cities and yeshuvim without detection or being challenged. Hamas militants were even able to make it back into Gaza afterwards with the bodies of captured soldiers, civilians and vehicles.

Somehow every single security measure was ineffective.

This does not make sense.

You can't just drive a tractor through the Gaza fence. It's designed not to be driven through. There was a perfectly shaped cut hole for Hamas vehicles to pass through.

Even with a powerful angle grinder, it takes time to cut through that many layers of reinforcement. That went unnoticed for some reason... Even an animal touching that fence would trigger an alarm and a protocol is in place to respond to that.

Conspiracy? Incompetance? More kowtowing to the "International Community?"

Well, it wouldn't be the first time Israel attempted to gain sympathy from the so-called international community. According to Barry Chamish, in 1994, before the Purim holiday (Esther 9:18-19) posters were put up around Hebron in Arabic declaring that they would finish what Haman had started (see Esther for reference to the attempted massacre of Jews within the Persian Empire) hen Foreign Minister Shimon Peres believed he could kill two birds with one stone, by allowing Arabs in Hebron to carry out attacks on Jewish settlers there. P. Peres's plan backfired when one Jew, Dr. Baruch Goldstein hy"d, fought back.

Is it possible that the modus operandi [MO] of some of the Israeli security forces is to receive intel on attacks, and to allow some of them to go through anyway? Is this done in order to gain sympathy? To keep Israelis frightened and dependent on the government to "protect us?" Both?

They already made it more difficult to get a gun license 20 years ago and started making excuses to take weapons away back then as well.(to be updated shortly)

There is a claim, posted at Going Home to Yerushalayim that Hamas publicized its plan weeks in advance.

Mainstream news media repots blame on the destruction of communication systems for IDF failures to arrive to save civilians. Personally, I find this explanation difficult to digest. here is another result of today's war. Israeli town residents welcome state surveillance after Muslim invasion. I have already been exposing the increasing surveillance of Israeli citizens, with the government claiming it is for our protection.

I am surprised that no one has brought up the fact that Israelis go to the polls on October 31 to elect new mayors and city councils in local electinos. How will this war affect this?

בט"ו באב נסעתי באוטובוס בחזרה מתל אביב ב-1:00 לפנות בוקר. מאחורי ישבו שישה תלמידי תיכון ודיברו.

על מה הם מדברו?

אחד הבחורים סיפר את סיפורם של קמצא ובר קמצא (תלמוד בבלי גיטין 55b), מדרש אגדה הקשור לחורבן הבית השני. החלטתי להסתכל. החלטתי להציץ כדי לראות איך הם נראים. לא ראיתי שום כיפות, רק לשנים היה שיער ארוך. לבחור שמספר להם את הסיפור היה שיער ארוך מאוד.

לא שמעתי שום אפיקורסות או כפירה כפי שאני מצפה מתלמידי מערכת החינוך הממלכתית החילונית. אבל לא היה ברור שהם חילונים. אולי הם לומדים בבית ספר דתי, אבל מסתובבים בלי כיפות חוץ לבית ספר או בית כנסת.

לאחר מכן הם דיברו על ששום דבר לא שייך לנו אלא הכל בבעלות של הקב״ה.

איזה איש מבוגר הנראה חילוני ישב בצד השני ל מעבר נפף במניפה עם סמן קשת הגאווה. הוא השתתף בשיחה. למרות שאני לא זוכר את מה הוא אמר, אני כן זוכר שהסכמתי איתו. נראה שגם הבחורים קיבלו את מה שהוא אמר.

ארבעה בחורים ירדו בגבעתיים, עיר שאינה ידועה כעיר אוהבת התורה, או במזרח מרכז תל אביב. לא ברור. שני הבחורים האחרונים ירדו בפרבר מעורב דתי וחילוני.

קשה מאוד ליצור סיפור כזה.

הקללה שחלק בני ישראל מתים במיוחד בכל ט׳ באב גם הוסרה בט' באב. אבל עוד לא ידעו שהקללה הוסרה עד ט"ו באב כש ראו את הירח המלא הוכיח כי התשיעי חודש החמישי כבר עבר ללא מקרי המוות הצפויים מדי שנה.

למרות המאבק המתמשך של עיריית תל אביב נגד התורה, חלק תקוותי חזרה אליי השנה בט"ו באב. אני ממש הייתי צריך את זה לאחר העציבות ודכאון של ט׳ באב.

On Tu b'Av, I was on the bus, coming back from Tel Aviv at 1:00 AM. In back of me sat six high school boys talking.

What were they talking about?

One of the boys was recounting the story of of Qamtza and Bar Qamtza (TB Gittin 55b), a prominent midrash agadah (story), related to the destruction of HaBayith HaSheni (the Second Temple). I decided turn around,... casually. I did not see any kippoth (Jewish male head covering), only a couple of them had longish hair, one of them very long hair, the one recounting the story for them.

I heard nothing heretical, like one might expect from students of the secular Israeli state educational system. I supposed that they did not have to be secular. Maybe they went to a religious school, but did not wear kippoth while on vacation. Who knows?

They then went on to discuss how nothing belongs to us. The Holy One Blessed Be owns everything.

The secular-appearing man waving a rainbow pride fan sitting across the aisle from me chimed in. Although I cannot recall what he contributed to the discussion, I do remember that I happened to agree with him. The high school boys also seemed to accept what he had said.

Four of the boys got off the bus in either Givataim, a city not known for its embrace of Torah, or east central Tel-Aviv. It wasn't clear. The last two got off in a mixed modern orthodox, secular suburb.

You just cannot make this stuff up.

The curse of dying on the Tribes of Israel while wandering in the desert was imposed, carried out, and eventually removed on Tisha b'Av (9th of Av). However, the curse's removal was not recognized until Tu b'Av (15th), when the full moon proved that the ninth of the month had already passed without the annually expected, mass deaths.

In spite of the City of Tel-Aviv's ongoing battle against Torah, I had some of my hope restored the other night on Tu b'Av, definitely a well-needed boost after the sadness and depression of Tisha b'Av.

אחדות ישראל: ביקורת עולים המבקרים את הישראלים / Jewish Unity? Bashing Israeli-Bashing

Even though this post is directed to most, but of course not all, native, English speaking immigrants in Israel, place of honor is still given to Hebrewת by placing it before the English version.

במהלך 26 השנים שאני גר בארץ, למצערי אני שמעתי את עולים דוברי אנגלית בישראל אומרים דברים מזלזלים על ישראלים (בואו נגיד שמדברים על ישראלים שנולדו בארץ). כמעט תמיד השגרה היא ככה. דוברי אנגלית האומרים משהו לא יפה לא למד מספיק על תרבות הישראלית, הניחו את הגרוע מכל שמנצלים אותם, ונתקעו בראשם שהדרך הטובה והנכונה לעשות משהו היא כמו שעושים בארה״ב (...או באנגליה, או אוסטרליה או בדרום אפריקה, וכו׳). ולא משנה בין אם בעסק, בעבודה, בחיים אישיים.

אני מקווה שברור מאוד שאני לא כותב על כל דוברי אנגלית שבארץ. חס ושלום.

אבל כנראה המצב הזה מוכר לכם כי כיום באופנה בחדשות ובתקשורת החברתית לדבר על אנשים החושבים שהם זכאים או שחושבים שהכל מגיע להם. ארה״ב היא ענקית. אמריקאים ידועים כמרוכזים בתרבות שלהם ולא בשום תרבות אחרת. אני לא יכול לדבר על שום מדינה אחרת. אם אתם לא גדלתם ליד הגבול הבינלאומי של מקסיקו כמוני, אז כנראה אין לכם הרבה ניסיון חיים רב-תרבותי. אפילו אם אתם גדלתם בעיר ניו יורק או מיאמי, אולי אתם הצלחתם להסתובב בהתעלמות לכל דבר שונה מכם מבחינה תרבותית אלא מתיחסים לדברים כאלה כדבר יוצא דופן ואקזוטי.

כשאני נמצא בשכונות דוברי אנגלית, אני קצת מתבייש כשאני פותח את הפה, וישראלי שומע את המבטא שלי. לאחר דקה או שתיים בפיטפוט, הישראלי מבין שאני "לא ככל האמריקאים הרגילים" שהוא מכיר או כי אני אמרתי נכון בשפה איזה ביטוי או מילת סלנג, או שהגבתי "אין בעיה" כשהוא מודיע לי על עיכוב אפשרי בשירות.

אני רוצה להאמין שאני ברוב הישראלים האמריקאים, שמדברים עברית בנוחות ואשר הסתגלו, מרגישים בנוח במסגרת תרבותית ישראלית, או שלפחות אלה רוצים להשיג את המטרות האלה למרות כמה מתסכל בהתחלה בארץ חדשה.

כמה מהעולים החדשים בוחרים לגור בעיירות או בשכונות דוברי אנגלית. יש גם העולים כמוני שבוחרים להימנע בכל מחיר מלגור באזורים כאלה. שתי הבחירות האלה יכולות להיות הבחירה הנכונה.

במקום להנציח את אותה השליליות שאני מאשים כמה מכם בהנצחה, הנה רשימה חלקית של החוויות החיוביות שעברתי בישראל. אולי קריאת הרשימה מעודדת אותך לשנות את ההשקפה לחדשה ושונה:

כשאני היגשתי ביקשת אזרחות הפקיד במשרד הפנים בתל אביב זכר אותי מהפעם הקודמת שהגעתי לשם לבקש אשרת סטודנט. וכשחזרתי אליו בעוד 30 ימים כדי לקבל תעודת זהות, הוא קם, נתן לי יד, ואמר לי ״מזל טוב.״

הגבר שנתן לי טראמפ בשומרון התעקש להקפיץ אותי למעלה ליישוב ולא פשוט עצר לי בצומת היישוב.

הבחור שנתן לי כסף לעלות לאוטובוס ואמר לי לתת את זה לצדקה במקום לחפש אותו כדי להחזיר לו את הכסף.

האישה שנתנה לי לגשת לקופה לפניה כי היה רק דבר אחד או שניים.

הנהג האוטובוס שמסתכן בעבודה שלו, בכך שהוא מאפשר לילד בן 10 לעלות לאוטובוס, ולשלם לו בפעם הבאה כי הילד שכח את הכסף שלו וצריך להגיע לבית הספר.

בעל החנות שמזג לי כוס מיץ ביום חם מאוד, אפילו ללא לשאול אותי ולפני שהספקתי להגיד שלום.

הבחור שעובד בחנות השווארמה שזוכר את ההזמנה הרגילה שלי ומכין אותה אפילו ללא לשאול כדי שהיא מוכנה כבר כשאני מגיע לקופה. הגבר שהזכיר לקופאי בחנות שהתור שלי ולא התור שלו. זאת אומרת הוא לא עוקף אותי בתור אלא המקפיד על ההגינות.

נהג האוטובוס שרואה אותי רץ אליו ואז הוא מחכה לי, כדי שלא אצטרך לחכות עוד 20 דקות לאוטובוס הבא.

...וגם אף אחד מהנוסעים התלונן בכלל על כך שהנהג נאלץ לחכות לי עוד שתי דקות בתחנת האוטובוס.

הרוקחת החרדית שמצאה לי מוצר זול משמעותי למרות ההפסד לבית המרקחת. לא. והיא לא מצאה לי מותג גנרי אלא מותג ידוע.

אני עובד בהכתבה הזו כבר הרבה זמן. עכשיו כשקבלתי את ההזמנה שלי בבית הקפה אני שפכתי את הקפה שלי. העובד לא חשב על זה פעמיים אלא הוא הכין לי עוד אחד מייד חינם.

אני מניח שאתם גם עברתם חוויות דומות בארץ המוצא שלכם, במיוחד בעיירות קטנות ובשכונות איפה מרגישים שבמשפחה אחת גדולה. אבל אתם גם נזכרים מקרים כאלה בארץ? האם שמים לב בכלל? האם דנים בכל ישראלי כף זכות?

אתם חיים בנוחות מדי בבועה המבודדת של דוברי האנגלית? האם מרגישים שצריכים להתגונן? האם אתם רוצים לצעוק עליי ״שנאת חינם״, שפירסמתי כתבה כזו רק כמה ימים אחרי תשעה באב?

להרגע.

גם אני לא אוהב את זה כשאומרים לי להירגע. אם הכתבה מפריעה להם עד כדי כך, אז לחזור אליה מאוחר יותר, ולקרוא רק את רשימת החוויות החיוביות שרשמתי.

יש רק עוד חודש וחצי לראש השנה. שנה חדשה היא הזדמנות מצוינת להתחיל לפתח השקפה חדשה. היא גם הזדמנות מצוינת לשנות את גישת החיים שלנו.

אנחנו לא מושלמים. גם ישראלים גם לא מושלמים.

לקחת את ההזדמנות להיות גמישים יותר ואז החיים שלכם בארץ יוכלו להפוך להיות מדהימים.

אני מניח שחוויתם אותן החוויות או דומות במדינות היכן נולדתם, במיוחד בעיירות קטנות או בשכונות שבן מרגישים שבמשפחה אחת גדולה.

Over the 26 years I have lived inIsrael, I have had the very unfortunate experience of hearing English-speaking olim (immigrants) in Israel say disparaging things about native Israelis. The pattern is almost always the same. The people speaking did not do their homework regarding Israeli culture, assumed the worst that they were being taken advantage of, and had it stuck in the heads that the best and proper way to operate in any situation, whether business, work, personal, is always the American way of doing things (...or British, or Australian, or South African, etc.).

I hope it is obvious that I am not writing about all English speakers in Israel, not by a long shot.

However, this situation should sound very familiar to you, as the word "entitled" is very popular these days in the news and in social media. The United States is huge. American are known for their cultural-centric mentality. I cannot speak for any other countries. Unless you grew up near the Mexican border, as I did, I guess you cannot be expected to have much multi-cultural life experience. Even you grew grew in New York City or Miami, you can still manage to wander around, blind to anything culturally different than yourselves, instead looking upon such things as exotic oddities.

When I am in areas known for their English speakers, generally suburbs, I always feel embarrassed when I open my mouth, and a native Israeli hears my accent. After a minute or two chatting, the native Israeli realizes that I am "not one of those Americans," either because I used an idiom or slang word correctly, or I responded with "ein ba'ayah" (no problem), after being told there might be a delay in service.

I would like to think that I am in the majority of American Israelis, who speak Hebrew comfortably and who have adapted, feeling comfortable within an Israeli cultural framework, or who at least have these set as their goals, no matter how frustrating it can be upon first arriving in a new country, and wanting to call it home. But, I don't know.

Some new immigrants choose to live in predominantly English speaking towns or neighborhoods. Others, like myself, choose to avoid such residential areas at all costs. Both of these choices can be the correct choice.

Rather than perpetuate the same negativity I am accusing some of you of perpetuating, here is only a partial list of the positive experiences I have had in Israel. Perhaps this will encourage you to embraace a new and different perpective.

The clerk at the Ministry of Interior remembers me from the year before, expedites my request for aliyah/citizenship. Incidentally, I have never had a negative experience at this Ministry. Maybe it was because I smiled, was polite, and bothered to ask to clerk how she was doing that day, instead acting upon some old, classist idealist from the U. S. that since I have a few letters after my name, or that I have what I believe is a better job than clerk, then I must be better than them

The man who gives me a tremp (ride) through the Shomron (Samaria), and goes out of his way to take me up the hill to my town, instead of dropping me off at the junction below. Actually, this happened several times, and always by native Israelis.

The total stranger who gives me money to catch the bus, and said to give to tzedaqah (charity), instead of having to track him down to pay him back.

The person who reminds the store person who protects your place in line, and who reminds you that you're before him when you weren't paying attention.

The lady who let me go before when you only have one or two items.

The bus driver who risks his job, by allowing a 10-year-old kid on the bus, and to pay him next time, because he forgot his money, and needs to get to school.

The store owner who poured me a glass of juice on a hot day, without even asking, and before I even had a chance to say hello.

The guy who works at the shwarmah place, who remembers how I like and prepares it without even asking, so it is ready when I get to the front of the line.

The bus driver who sees me running down a ramp from a bridge who waits for me, so that I do not have to wait another 20 minutes for the next bus.

...AND none of the passengers complained about having to wait an extra two minutes for me at the bus stop.

The Haredi pharmacist who found a significantly less expensive version of a product, not covered by insurance. No. Not just a generic, but a well-known brand.

I have been working on this post for while now, years, in fact. Just now, while getting my order at my usual coffeehouse, I spilled my coffee all over the place. The server did not have to think twice about it. He had another one prepared for me, free of charge.

I am guessing that you had the same or similar experiences in your country of origin, especially in smaller towns or close knit neighborhoods. Do any of you remember any of these events while living in Israel? Did you miss them? Have you bothered to pay attention? Or did the lashon harah (inappropriate things you've heard) get too stuck in your heads to allowit? Did you judge with native Israelis with kaf zekhuth (benefit of the doubt)?

Too comfortable living in your insulated, English-speaking bubble? Feeling a little defensive, and getting ready to cry "sinas hinam" (baseless hatred), and yell at me for daring to post such a thing, so soon after Tisha b'Av?

Relax.

Yeah, I know. I hate it when people tell me to relax. Nevertheless, if you are getting flustered, set this post aside, then come back to it later, and only read the list of positive experiences I wrote.

We are a month and a half away from Rosh HaShannah. A new year is a great opportunity to begin developing a new perspective, a great opportunity to change our attitudes.

We are not perfect. Neither are native Israelis.

Take the initiative to bend a little, and you may end up amazing yourselves.

זה רק אוטובוס! / It's Just a Bus!

לא מזמן אני נסעתי באוטובוס בתל אביב בדרך לחוף ואז לאירוע. האוטובוס היה צפוף אנשים ובמיוחד כשהרבה תלמידי חטיבת ביניים ותיכון עלו. זמן קצר לאחר מכן אישה ערבייה, לבושה בלבוש מוסלמי צנוע מאוד, עלתה לאוטובוס.

שימו לב, רק יום או יומיים לפני זה ארבעה יהודים נרצחו בפיגוע ירי בכביש ליד היישוב עלי במטה אפרים שבשומרון. מעולם לא ראיתי אף ערבי מתנהג בצורה נועזת כל כך זמן קצר לאחר פיגוע כהערבייה הזו התנהגה. למעשה, ראיתי רק את המצב ההיפכי.

במשך הזמן שאני גרתי בתל אביב לפני 25 שנה, ערבים לא נראו בשטח, מחשש לחטוף מכות. למעשה, אני בכלל לא זוכר כל כך הרבה ערבים מסתובבים בתל אביב בזמן ההוא בכלל, אפילו לא עובדים ערבים. גם לא עובדים זרים.

האישה הערבייה הזו חוצפנית כי היא צעקה על ילדים יהודים ואפילו זמן קצר אחר פיגוע טרור.

למה היא צעקה? מפני שהילדים עשו רעש. באמת? תלמידי חב״ט ותיכון עושים רעש באוטובוס? אוי וווי! בני נוער עושים רעש באוטובוס. ובני נוער ערביים אף פעם לא עושים רעש באוטובוס? אני מוכן להעיד לכם בלב שלם שבני נוער ערביים כן עושים רעש באוטובוסים.

אני חושב שאני די רגיש לרעש. לדעתי עוצמת הקול הטיפוסית של הבחורים היתה ברמת השיחה הרגילה. פשוט היו הרבה שיחות באותו זמן. המצב בהחלט לא הפריע. לנהג. נהגי אוטובוס ישראלים בכלל לא מתביישים להגיד לתלמידים כאלה להיות בשקט, וגם למבוגרים שמדברים בטלפון קרוב מדי לנהג. אבל רק הפריע לנהג הזה שהנוסעים לא התקדמו אחורה כדי לאפשר לעוד אנשים לעלות.

אישית אני לא הייתי מוכן לסבול מהשטויות של האישה הזאתי. האישה הזו התנהגה בצורה בלתי סבירה לחלוטין. ועוד דבר, היא צעקה בשפה אנגלית! (לפעמים אני שוכח שאנגלית היא השפה הרשמית של תל אביב, ולא עברית. אבל כדאי לכתוב על הנושא המעצבן הזה בפעם אחרת בעתיד.)

אז אני התחלתי לדבר בקול רם די חזק בעברית. אני אמרתי לה שאנו בארץ היכן מדברים את השפה של עם ישראל השפה עברית! להפתעתי הנעימה, אף אחד לא אמר לי שום ביקורת על מה שאמרתי. אף אחד לא אמר לי לשתוק. אף אחד אפילו לא עשה לי פרצוף לא יפה.

היא צעקה, "אם אתם לא יודעים אנגלית, הבעיה שלכם. אתם צריכים ללמוד אנגלית". ואז היה ברור שהיא מבינה את מה שאמרתי בעברית.

למעשה, היא טעתה. אם המצב הנוכחי ימשיכו ללא שינוי אז כדאי לנו להתרכז בלימודי ערבית ולא אנגלית.

תלמיד תיכון אחד או שניים באוטובוס התחילו להגיב לאישה הזו באנגלית, למרות שהוכחתי שהיא מבינה עברית. הם אמרו, "!Just a bus" (רק אוטובוס!) או "!It's just a bus" (זה רק אוטובוס!)

שאלתי את הילד שעמד לידי, כנראה בכיתה ז' או ח', מה בדיוק הכוונה. האם זאת אומרת שזו רק נסיעה קצרה באוטובוס, זה יכול להיות רועש כשצפוף, ופשוט כדאי להירגע. הוא אמר שצדקתי.

אבל האוטובוס הזה לא רק אוטובוס. ואנחנו לא צריכים להירגע אלא להתעורר. שום דבר כזה לא יכל לקרות לפני 25 שנה. אלא היו חושדים את הערבייה מחבלת מתאבדת אפשרית. ותלמידי התיכון היהודים, אפילו החילוניים, היו מגיבים הרבה יותר בלהט והרבה יותר חזק. הם התגאו להיות יהודים, ולדבר בשפה שהקימו לתחייה, ולהתגורר בארץ מולדתנו אחרי מאות שנים.

עד מתי נחליט שלהיות יהודים לדבר עברית ולהישב שוב במולדתנו הם באופנה ואפילו דברים גדולים?

I was on the bus in Tel-Aviv recently. I was on the way to the beach, and then to an event. The bus got particularly crowded when a bunch of junior high and high school students got on. An Arab woman, dressed in fully modest Muslim garb, got on the bus shortly afterwards.

Mind you, there had just been an Arab terrorist attack. Four Jews were murdered in a shooting attack on the road near the town of Eli in Efraim, in Samaria. I have never witnessed any Arab act in a bold manner so soon after a terrorist attack. In fact, I have only ever seen the opposite

When I lived in Tel Aviv 25 years, Arabs stayed out of sight, for fear of getting beaten up, as I heard they were on the beaches of Netanya and elsewhere. Actually, I do not remember so many Arabs in Tel-Aviv at all back then, not even Arab workers, and not any foreign workers.

This Arab woman had the hutzpah (gall) to yell at Jewish kids after a terrorist attack.

Why was she yelling? Because the kids were making noise. Imagine that. Teenagers making noise on the bus. And Arab teenagers never make noise on the bus? I can wholeheartedly testify that Arab teenagers do, in fact, make noise on buses.

I see myself as being fairly sensitive to noise. Yet, what I heard was just your typical conversation level volume. There were just a lot of conversations going on simultaneously. The bus driver was certainly not bothered by it. And Israeli bus drivers are not at all shy about telling kids, and adults talking on their phones too close to the driver's seat, to be quiet. But this bus driver was more bothered by the passengers not moving to the back of the bus, in order to let more people on in the front.

Unlike the bus driver, I wasn't having it. This woman was being completely unreasonable. Furthermore she was yelling in English. (I sometimes seem to forget that English in the official language of Tel-Aviv, and not Hebrew. But that's another post for another time...) So, I began raising my own voice in Hebrew, telling her that this is Israel, where we speak the language of the Jewish People, Hebrew! To my pleasant surprise, no one said anything critical of my actions. No one told me to shut up, not even the bus driver I was sitting in back of. No one made even a single sour face at me.

"If you don't know English, that's your problem. You should learn English," she shouted, clearly indicating that she understood what I had said in Hebrew.

Actually, she's wrong. If things continue to go the way they are going, we should concern ourselves with learning Arabic, not English.

One or two kids of the on the bus attempted to respond to this woman in English, in spite of my proving that she understood Hebrew. They started saying, "Just a bus!" or "It's just a bus!"

I asked the kid standing next to me, probably in seventh or eighth grade, what exactly that was supposed to mean. Did it mean that it's just a short bus ride, it can be noisy when it's crowded, and just relax about it? He said yeah, that's right.

But it wasn't just a bus, and we shouldn't just relax. Nothing like this would have happened 25 years ago. Instead, the Arab would be suspected of being a potntial suicide bomber. And the Jewish high school students, even the secular ones, would have responded a lot more passionately, a lot more forcefully. They would have had an ounce of pride of being Jews, speaking a revived language, and in a homeland inaccessible to us, even forbidden to most of us for hundreds of years.

When will we finally decide to make being Jewish, speaking Hebrew, and living in our only, true homeland fashionable, even great again?

Soon, I hope and pray.

בדמקרטיה הכי גדולה בעולם ארה״ב הנשיא בוחר מעומד להמנות לבית המשפט העליון והסנאט מאשר אותו. העם אמריקאי בוחר את גם הנשיא וגם הסנאט לעשות את תפקידיהם כולל למנות שופטים חדשים לבית המשפט העליון. לכן יש לאזרחי ארה״ב השפעה בבחירת השופטים.

במדינת ישראל אם בג״ץ צריך שופטים חדשים אז אין בעיה. יש שופטים חברי הועדה לבחירת השופטים. זאת אומרת יש לשופטים חלק הרשות לקדם את האג׳נדה שלהם דרך בחירת שופטים חדשים שמסכימים איתם ומונעים מלמנות את השופטים החולקים מהם. יש אזרחי מדינת ישראל הרבה פחות השפעה מאזרחי ארה״ב במנוי שופטים חדשים לבג״ץ.

למה אזרחי ישראל לא יכולים להבין את העובדה הזו?

How is this any different from the use of children as human shields by Arab terrorist organization Hamas? It's not.

Where are the left wing social worker frontline soldiers now? Still threatening to take custody of children away from settlers?

These protestors believe they fighting against a dictatorship of the right-wing and Prime Minster Binyamin Netanyahu. The truth is that they are fighting to keep the dictatorship of former Israeli Supreme Court President Aharon Barak.

In the largest democracy in the world, the United States of America, the president chooses a nominee to the Supreme Court and the Senate confirms the nominee. The American people elect both the President and the Senate to fulfill these roles. Thus they have a say in the choice of Supreme Court Justices.

In the State of Israel, if the High Court needs new judges, no problem. There are Supreme Court judges on the judicial selection committee, Supreme Court justices whom the Israeli public does not elect. This means that the judges have some authority to self-perpetuate, supporting their pre-conceived agenda. They have some power on the selection committee to appoint judges who agree with them, and prevent the appointment of judges who disagree with them.

And so, Israeli citizens have much less influence over the appointment of justices than American citizens have in their country.

Why are Israeli citizens unable to understand this fact?

I have no idea.

שוק ארבעת המינים שפעל בשנים האחרונות ברובע ז' לא יפעל השנה. כל הפרטים על ההחלטה לבטל את קיום השוק

מכירת ארבעת המינים - בבתים ובחנויות, במקלטים ובחצרות, אך לא בשוק: אם לא שמתם לב עד כה, אזי השנה לא יפעל שוק ארבעת המינים ברובע ז'. מכירות ארבעת המינים לא יתקיימו שוב במקום אחד, אלא יפוזרו בכל חלקי הרובע.

ל'אשדודס' נודע כי הסיבה לאי הפעלת השוק, שקיים מזה יותר מעשור והוא הפך להצלחה, היא כחלק מהפקת לקחי אסון מירון, שהובילה בין היתר להחרפת הקריטריונים להפעלתו על ידי חברות הביטוח, כך שהתנאים הוחמרו, מה שהקרין אף על מחיר הפעלתו.

הדבר פוגע קשות בתושבים וכך גם בסוחרים שככל הנראה צפויים לראות ירידה במכירות. אך כפי שאנו מדווחים, על אף הנסיונות שנעשו להשגת אישורים, התברר כי השוק אינו עומד בתקנים העדכניים ולכן אין אפשרות להפעילו.

כתוצאה מאי הפעלת השוק לא תופעל ברובע ז' "סוכת ההוראה" של המועצה הדתית, והסוכות שיופעלו בידי המועה"ד הן רק ברבעים ג' וכן ברובע ב' - שם קיים שוק ארבעת המינים המסורתי.

בנוסף כתוב בכתבה של ערוץ 7 (באנגלית למטה) שעוד שוקים בערים אחרות גם לא יתקיימו.

כמה יהודים לא יקיימו את מצוות של חג הסוכות בגלל המרחק מבתיהם לסוכות ציבוריותמ ארוך מדי?

עודה פעם נראה שהממשלה בעצם לא מגנת עלינו מסכנה אלא מתרצת את המאבק הממושך שלה נגד התורה ושומריה.

Popular Four Species market in Ashdod won't operate this year - here's why.

In some haredi cities, there will not be a large Four Species market this year, following lessons learned from the Meron disaster.

The Four Species are used during the holiday of Sukkot (the Festival of Tabernacles), and traditionally, prior to the holiday, special marketplaces are set up to allow customers easy access to a large number of vendors at once.

One of the most popular Four Species markets was the one in Ashdod's Quarter 7. Sources in Ashdod have said that as part of the lessons learned from the Meron disaster, insurance companies have tightened criteria, dramatically influencing the cost of operations.

"Despite the attempts which were made to obtain permits, it became clear that the market does not meet the updated requirements and therefore we are unable to operate it," a local haredi news site reported.

"As a result of not operating the market, Quarter 7 will not operate the Religious Council's 'guidance sukkah,' and the sukkahs which will be operated by the Religious Council will only be located in Quarter 3 and Quarter 2 - where there is also a traditional Four Species market."

Whoever says such things is most likely some sort of robot who has been successfully indoctrinated by the State education system!

During the Meron disaster half a million were there, on a mountain. In contrast, a Sukkot four species market is a fairly small space.

On Tisha B'av Fast they were worried about two thousand Jews ascending the Temple Mount, in spite of the already hundreds of thousands of Arabs.

The report in Hebrew from Ashdodnet cited above adds: "This severely affects the residents as well as the merchants who are likely to see a decrease in sales."

How many Jews will not observe the mitzvah of Sukkot because the distance from their homes to public Sukkots is too long?

Once again, it seems the Israeli Government is not actually trying to protect us from danger. Rather it is making excuses for its continued battle against the Torah and those who keep it.

נראה לי שאכפת לרבנים האלה יותר ממה שהגויים חושבים עלינו, מאשר ממה שאנחנו חושבים על עצמנו. ונראה לי שהם די מרוצים ממצב הקיים (הסטטוס קוו), אם יפסיקו כבר הרקטות, הפצצות, הירי והטרקטורים הדורסים יהודים. 

ובגלל כל זה איתמר בן גביר כל-כך מסוכן. יש לו חזון. והחזון שלו נוגע לתורה.

האם מישהו יכול לתאר לנו את החזונות של הדתיים המודרניים, של הדתיים הלאומיים (הבית היהודי), ושל הדתיים נאמני המדינה ללא שום התנגדות (הממלכתיים)? נראה לי שאין להם שום חזון מרוכז בגאולה. האם יש להם חזונות בכלל? ואפילו אם כן, עד כמה חזונותיהם נוגעים לתורה?

יש הרבה מסוקרנים המחכים לתשובות.

איתמר בן-גביר מסוכן. הוא מסוכן מבחינת כוחות השלטון כוח מטעם הערב רב. הוא לא מסוכן לעם ישראל. אדרבא, למעשה הוא טוב לעם ישראל.

Itamar Ben-Gvir is dangerous! He has ultra-orthodox and religious Zionist and secular supporters! How can that be! He seems to be the only politician succeeding in bringing everyone together! Ahduth Yisra'el! Jewish Unity!

But he is an extremist!

I would be happy to remind you what extremism means. True, Jewish extremism is the understanding and accepting of the fact that the Torah touches all matters of our lives and not just questions of Shabbat and keeping Kosher. It includes the desire to make the effort to establish communities as well as an educational system that teaches our children how to be Jews and not just Israelis, to keep the Torah and not just to honor it on a bookshelf, that teaches a vision of Geulah (Final Redemption) and to be freed from the mentality of Galuth (The Exile).

The Torah teaches us how to establish a real, Jewish government, manage a real, Jewish military, how to get along with non-Jews while at peace, and deal with them [effectively] when attacked and during full blown war. The Torah also teaches us who is allowed to live in Israel and who is not. (And I'm not even alluding to the Arabs here.)

It is clear that the State of Israel does not operate like this, nor is it in the least bit interested in doing so. But what bothers me even more is that so many so-called Zionist rabbis do not want the State of Israel to operate this way either, not today nor ever in the future. There are so-called Zionist rabbis who do not work toward the observance of the entire Torah, but only the mitvoth (commandments) which do not rub the international community the wrong way. They care more about what non-Jews think about us, than what we think of ourselves. They seem to be quite happy with the status quo, as long as the rockets, bombs, shootings, and tractors running Jews over, were to stop.

And this is why Itamar Ben-Gvir is so dangerous. He does have a vision. And that vision is concerned with the Torah.

Can anyone describe for us the visions of the Modern Orthodox, the so-called National Religious, the diehard State loyalists (mamlakhtim)? They seem to lack any vision centered on Geulah. Do they have any vision at all? If so, how intertwined are their visions with the Torah?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Itamar Ben-Gvir is dangerous, dangerous to the Erev Rav controlled power structure, not to the Jewish People. Quite the opposite, in fact.
