האם חברת האוטובוס הזו הכי גרועה בארץ?

האוטובוס מצפת לבני ברק ורמת גן היה אמור לצאת מהתחנה המרכזית בשעה 11:40. הייתה תקלה כלשהי בדרך לתחנה. לפי הנוסעים שכבר עלו, הם נאלצו להמתין לאוטובוס חלופי. האוטובוס החלופי הגיע לתחנה בסביבות השעה 12:00, ואז עלינו. האוטובוס יצא ואסף עוד נוסעים לאורך הדרך בתוך העיר כמו רגיל. עם זאת, ברגע שהתקרבנו ליציאה מהעיר, הנהג הודיע לנו שיש איזה בעיה עם האוטובוס החלופי.

לאחר עצירה קצרה בדרך, כדי שהנהג יכל לתקשר, כנראה, עם המוקדן שלו - הוא דיבר ערבית - המשכנו לחניון של חברת האוטובוסים. כולנו ירדנו ועקבנו אחרי הנהג מאוטובוס לאוטובוס והסתכלנו כשהוא הוא בדק כל אחד אם הוא תקין. כל הזמן הזה הוא היה בשיחת טלפון, כנראה לקבל הוראות על איזה מהם לנסות בהמשך. הוא ניסה לפחות חמישה אוטובוסים. רובנו הפסקנו לעקוב אחריו, וחיכינו עד שהוא יבחר באחד. ואז עלינו עליו.

מיד החלו התלונות על האוויר החם שיצא מפתחי האוורור. חיכינו לשיפור כלשהו. שום שיפור הגיע. חלק מהנוסעים היו מוכנים להמשיך עם חלונות פתוחים. אחרים אמרו שזה מסוכן עם הילדים הקטנים היו איתנו באוטובוס. לא נראה לי שהם היו מצליחים לסבול מימי הקיץ של 40 מעלות שעברתי בילדותי בלי מזגן.

בסופו של דבר, יצאנו מהעיר. ואז הנהג עצר בתחנה בצומת צפת. חיכינו לאוטובוס חלופי נוסף. אבל, כשהגיע האוטובוס הרביעי, הדלת בצד ימין לתא המיטען לא היתה תקינה. בצד השמאלי כן. אבל זה נחשב מסוכן מדי עבור נוסעים מוציאים את המזוודות שלהם משם בלב בני ברק ההומה.ולכן, חיכינו לעוד אוטובוס חלופי.

בינתיים, כמה נוסעים ירדו מהאוטובוס, לאחר שסידרו תחבורה חלופית או פשוט ויתרו על הנסיעה.

בסופו של דבר יצאנו מצומת צפת לפחות שעה וחצי מאוחר לפי הלו״ז והגענו לאזור המרכז ללא עוד תקלות ב״ה.

בתחנת התרעננות, אני אמרתי לנהג שהוא נשאר רגוע לאורך כל הבלגן שעברנו. הוא אמר שעובד בסניף אחר של החברה, ושם הכל רגוע. לזה הוא רגיל.

תקלה אחת אפשר לסלוח. דבר כזה קורה. שתיים? אפשר לדבר על זה. אבל, הצורך בארבע החלפות באוטובוסים בדרך?

Is this the worst bus company in Israel?

The bus from Tzfat (Safed) to Bnei Braq and Ramat Gan (Tel Aviv suburbs) was supposed to leave the central bus station at 11:40. There was some sort of breakdown along the way. According to passengers who had already boarded, they had to wait for a replacement bus. The replacement bus, they were on, arrived at the station around 12:00, at which time those of us who were waiting boarded. The bus left the station, and picked up passengers along the way within the city. However, once we got close to leaving the city, the bus driver announced that there was a problem with the replacement bus.

After a short stop on the side of the road, for the driver to communicate, presumably, with his dispatcher -- he was speaking Arabic -- we made our way to the bus company's lot. We all got off the bus, and proceeded to follow the driver around from bus to bus, checking which one was operational. He was on the phone the entire time, presumably receiving instructions as to which one should work, and which one to try next. He tried at least five buses. Most of us stopped following him around, and just waited for him to settle upon one. He finally choice one. So, we boarded it.

I happened to notice that the man in the "service vehicle" was of no service whatsoever.

Immediately, complaints began over the hot air coming out of the vents. We waited for any improvement. There wasn't any. Some passengers were willing to continue on with the windows open. Others said it was dangerous with small children on the bus. I guess they would not have succeeded in suffering through the 104°F (40°C) summer days of my childhood without air conditioning.

In the end, we left the city. But not so fast. The driver stopped at Tzfat Junction. We waited for yet another replacement bus. But, when the fourth bus arrived, the door to the baggage compartment did not work on the right side. The left side worked. But this was determined to be too dangerous for when passengers needed to remove their baggages in the middle of bustling Bnei Braq. And so, we waited for another replacement bus.

In the meantime, several passengers disembarked, having arranged for alternative transportation or just given up.

We ended up leaving the Tzfat Junction at least an hour and a half behind schedule, but arrived at our destination without any more breakdowns or glitchs.

At the rest stop, I mentioned to the driver that he stayed calm throughout the fiasco. He said that works at a different branch, where everything is relaxed. That is what he is used to.

One breakdown can be forgiven. These things happen. Two is debateable. But, the need for four changes in buses?

למען ביטחון הציבור? באמת?

Why? So that no more protesters would be allowed into the city. When there had already been protests in the past, the train was my only way out of Jerusalem.

Another opportunity to give the state religious and secular to increase their hatred of the Haredim.

סוף סוף! טיפ-טיפה של צדק מופיע בעולם הזה וביוזמת יהוד בעל אומץ בלי בושה או חרטה. אולי משהו כזה יעורר את ציבור הישראלי.

אם יש הרבה מסרים תת-כרתיים בפרסומות, בניסיון להשפיע לנו לקנות מוצרים מסוימים, אז למה לא לפרסם הודעה אמיתית כזו לא נסתר מקהל היעד שלו.

אני מניח שיהודים המתגוררים בחו״ל צריכים להתקדם בלימודי עברית כדי שלא יפספסו דברים כאלה.

על פי הכתבה, נראה שחברת אל על כמעט התנצלה על המקרה.

אם בסופו של דבר תתנצלו על זה, תהרסו את המתיחה הכי גדולה של השנה. אז אל תהרסו את זה!

אם ה"אשמים" יעמדו בפני צעדים משמעתיים או גרוע מכך, צעדים משפטיים, אז לא מקובל עליי או על מתגאה להיות יהודי. אבל אם כן, אני מקווה שראש חברה אחרת יציע להם עבודה טובה עוד יותר.

🤣 Finally! A drop of justice in this world, initiated by a Jew, without shame or remorse. Maybe something like this will get through to the Israeli public.

After all, if there are subliminal messges in advertising, trying to get us to buy things, why put something out there that is not only the truth, but also straightforward, and hardly hidden from its target audience.

I guess Jews outside of Israel will have to ramp up their Hebrew studies, so they don't miss out.

According the report, it seems that El Al came close to apologiing for the incident.

Note to El Al, if you do end up apologizing, you'll be ruining the greatest non-prank of the year. So, don't ruin it!

If the "culprits" face disciplinary action or worse, legal action, that would be totally messed up. But if they do, I hope someone steps up to give them an even better job.

As for you Jew-haters out there, take that!

תחנת רק״ל קרית אריה נמצאת ממש ליד תחנת רכבת ישראל באותו שם. הקו האדום של רק״ל מגיע מפתח תקוה לבת ים דרך בני ברק, רמת גן, ותל-אביב-יפו. אחד עשרה מתוך 34 תחנות נמצאות תחת הקרקע.

אפילו בלוס אנג׳לס רק 13 תחנות רק״ל תחת קרקעיות. מצפים עוד בהמשך עם הארכת הקו הסגול שלה לאוניברסיטת קליפורניה [UCLA] ולבי״ח יוצאי צבא.

כמה זמן אתה חושבים הנסיעה ברכב פרטי, מונית, או אוטובוס, ובמיוחד בשעות העומס?

The Qiryath Aryeh light rail station is right next to the regular train station of the same name. The Red Line of the Great Tel-Aviv Light Rail system from Petah Tiqwah, east of Tel-Aviv, to south of Tel-Aviv in Bat Yam, travels through B'nei Braq, Ramat Gan, and of course, Tel-Aviv-Yafo. Eleven of the 34 stations are underground, giving Tel-Aviv the status of a city with a subway.

Even in Los Angeles, only 13 of the light rail stations are underground, so far. Expect more to come with the extension of its (LA's) purple line to UCLA and the VA Hospital. Tel-Aviv also has a Purple Line underway, but additional underground stations are not in the plan.The trip from Qiryath Aryeh, Petah Tiqwah to the corner of Allenby and Rothschild Streets was only 23 minutes!

Imagine what the same trip would be like by private car, taxi, or bus, and especially during rush hour.

פחות משנה יש לתל-אביב רכבת קלה תחתית. בשבוע שעבר אני הספקתי לנסוע בה. בקו הראשון (האדום) של מערכת הרכבת הקלה רק 10 מ-34 התחנות הן תחת קרקעיות. בתוך תל-אביב-יפו עצמה שש תחנות תחת קרקעיות ושש במשטח הכביש.

קוראים למערכת ״דנקל״ על שם האזור גוש דן שבו שבט דן התישב בתחילת כיבוש ארץ ישראל במנהיגות יהושע בן נון לפני כ-3,286 שנים. ״קל״ הוא מ״קלה״ של רכבת קלה.

Tel-Aviv has had a subway for less than a year. Last week, I finally had a chance to ride on it. Ten of the system's 34 stations are subterranean on the first light rail line, the red line, running through Greater Tel-Aviv. Within the Tel-Aviv-Yaffo Municipality itself, six are underground, and six are at street level.

The system is known as "Dankal," after the area of Greater Tel-Aviv "Gush Dan," the area which the Tribe of Dan settled after the initial conquering of the Canaanites, under the leadership of Yehoshua Bin-Nun (Josh.) aproximately 3,286 years ago. "Kal" is from qallah the "light" in light rail.

On the day I rode the subway, I had a day pass. I recommend checking if its worth it on a given day.

• סיגריות אלקטרוניות ידועות גם בשם Vapes - כלומר מכשיר המשמש לאידוי.
• הן נראות כמו כמו עטים או מכשירי USB.
• הן מייצרות רסס הנשאף לתוך הריאות על ידי חימום של נוזל המכיל לרוב ניקוטין, חומרי טעם וריח וחומרים כימיים נוספים.
• ניקוטין הוא חומר ממכר מאוד הנמצא גם בסיגריות, נרגילות סיגרים ומוצרי טבק אחרים.
• הרסס הנפלט בנשיפה יכול להזיק גם לסביבה ובכך לגרום לעישון כפוי.

מה אתם חושבים על זה? לפעמים ממשלת ישראל, ובפרט משרד הבריאות, מבצעת משהו טוב, אם כי מעט ומאוחר מדי.

למי שעד כה לא היה בטוח במעמד החוקי של סיגריות אלקטרוניות (ווייפ), עכשיו זה ידוע. העובדה שהוואפרים (מעשני סיגריות אלקטרוניות) חושבים שמקובל להכריח כל אחד להריח את הריח של הדברים האלה, וגם לשאוף את כל הכימיקלים שהם מכילים, מסבכת את מוחי. אולי מעשני סיגריות אלקטרוניות חושבים ככה בגלל הרגישות ההולכת ופוחתת שלנו לענייני גבולות. אולי זה מפני שמעשני סיגריות אלקטרוניות מרוכזים בעצמם יותר מדי עד שלא מתחשבים מהאשנישים האחרים בסביבתם אלא אך ורק מהתמכרותם.

לא רשום מפרט באתר משרד הבריאות אוטובוסים ורכבות עצמן כדוגמאות למקומות ציבוריים שבהם אסור לעשן סיגריות אלקטרוניות. לצערנו, עדיין יש אנשים שלא מבינים כמה זה ברור, ומתעקשים לעשן באוטובוסים וברכבות.

משרד הבריאות מתאמץ, בפרסומות ובחינוך. עכשיו משרד התחבורה צריך להתאמץ על ידי שינוי השלטים והמדבקות ללא עישון״ כך שיכללו סיגריות אלקטרוניות. התמונה שלהלן כוללת כמה דוגמאות אפשריות.

שרת התחבורה לשעבר מרב מיכאלי נראה להתרכז אך ורק בקיום תחבורה ציבורית בשבת. לכן הוא לא הספיקה לטפל בבעיה הזו של שילוט. יש ספק שהיא ידעה על הבעיה כזו בכל מקרה.

אני מקווה ששרת התחבורה הנוכחית מירי רגב משתדלת יותר מקודמה בתפקיד.

• The most common name for electronic cigarettes is "vapes", namely vaporization devices. 
• They either look like regular cigarettes or like pens and USB devices. 
• They create a mist that is inhaled into the lungs by warming a liquid container that usually contains nicotine, flavor agents and additional chemical substances. 
• Nicotine is a highly addictive substance that is also found in cigarettes, hookahs, cigars and other tobacco products. 
• The mist exhaled can also be harmful to those around the smoker, thereby causing involuntary smoke exposure. 
• Over the last few years, Israel has been witnessing an increase in the use of electronic cigarettes, especially among young people, teens and pre-teens, some as young as 5th grade students. 
• Electronic cigarettes are classified as smoking products for all intents and purposes in the eyes of the Prevention of Smoking in Public Places and Exposure to Second-Hand Smoke Law, 1983. In accordance with the Law:

• It is strictly forbidden to sell them to minors under 18 years old
• It is forbidden to distribute them in events
  They must be sold in uniform packages
• Nicotine percentage in them is restricted to 2%
• It is strictly forbidden to smoke them in public areas (From the Hebrew: bus stops, swimming pools, playgrounds). Violators are subject to fine

What do you know? Sometimes the Israeli goverment, and in particular the Ministry of Health, gets it right, albeit too little, too late.

For those of you who were, up until now, uncertain of the legal status of electronic cigarettes, now you know. The fact that vapers think it is acceptable to force anyone to smell the scent of those things, let alone inhale whatever chemicals they contain, is beyond me. It could simply be due to our increasingly lessened sensitivity to issues of boundaries.

For those of you who could not care less about Israeli secular law, you still do not have any excuse for using these devices in public places, as it is sakkanath nefashoh, a health hazard, and thus forbidden according to halakhah (Torah Law).

The Ministry of Health does not list buses and trains themselves as examples of public places where smoking electronic cigarettes is prohibited. Unfortunately, there are still people who do not realize how obvious this is, and insist on smoking on buses and trains.

The Ministry of Health has done its part, or has at least begun to do its part, on the publicity and education front. The Ministry of Transportation now needs to step up, and do its part by modifying the no smoking signs and stickers to include electronic cigarettes. The above graphic includes some examples.

Former Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli seems to concentrate solely on maintaining public transportation on Shabbat. That's why he didn't have time to deal with this problem of signage. It is doubtful that she knew about such a problem anyway.

I hope that the current transport minister Miri Regev tries harder than her predecessor in the position.

משרדי התחבורה, העלייה והבריאות סיכמו לאפשר קיום של שש טיסות שעליהן עולים המיועדים להגיע לארץ בזמן הסגר על נתב"ג. כך, בשבוע הבא יגיעו טיסות חמש טיסות מצרפת, מוסקבה, אוקראינה, דרום אמריקה ואתיופיה ובהן כ-800 עולים לארץ. העולים יתקבלו בהתאם להנחיות משרד הבריאות, פיקוד העורף ובתיאום עם משרד העלייה והקליטה.

שמונה מאות עולים חדשים הורשו להיכנס לישראל, למרות שנתבג נסגר, כדי למנוע כניסת חולי קורונה ובמיוחד מוטציות הנגיף.

מעניין אותי לדעת כמה מהעולים חדשים האלה באמת יהודים, במיוחד מרוסיה ואוקראינה. כמובן שעל פי חוק השבות של מדינת ישראל ובניגוד הלכה, זה לא משנה.

למה כל-כך דחוף להביא אותם ארצה עכשיו? בהחלט יש חששות מתנאי החיים של יוצאי אתיופיה. האם משרד העליה וקליטה צריך להביא את העולים משאר המדינות האלה כדי להיראות הוגן?

בינתיים הממשלה מגרשת חרדים מישראל בחזרה לארה״ב ומתויגים כ"נתינים זרים " (YNET). צריכים להוכיח מעמד קורונה כדי להיכנס לישראל. המציגים מסמכים מזויפים עומדים בפני גירוש. לא משנה אם הם ילדים של בעלי אזרחות מדינת ישראל .

בעלי תעודות גיור רפורמי וקונסרבטיבי מזויף, ובני זוג הלא יהודים גם של עולים יהודיים וגם של העולים הלא יהודיים, מתקבלים בברכה.

אלפי פליטים מסתננים אפריקאים עדיין מגורים בישראל, ממשיכים להרוס את חיי תושבי דרום תל-אביב ועוד, וממשיכים לחיות בחשבון אזרחי ישראל ללא הסכמתם.

The Ministries of Transportation, Aliyah and Health have agreed to allow six flights of immigrants destined to arrive in Israel during the closure of Ben Gurion Airport. Next week, five flights will arrive from France, Moscow, Ukraine, South America and Ethiopia with about 800 immigrants. The immigrants will be accepted in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, the Home Front Command and in coordination with the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption.

So, is this a good thing?

Eight hundred news immigrants were allowed to enter Israel, even thought Ben Gurion International Airport has been closed, in order to prevent the entry of any additional infections with COVID-19 mutations.

I wonder how many of them are actually Jewish, particularly from Russia and the Ukraine. Of course, according to Israeli law, as opposed to Torah Law, this fact does not matter.

Why the urgency? There are certainly concerns over the living conditions of the Ethiopians. Did they have to bing all the others because that's fair?

Meanwhile, Haredim (ultra-orthodox) are being deported from Israel, and are be labeled as "foreign nationals." (YNET) One must prove ones COVID status to enter Israel. Those presenting false documents face deportation. Children of State of Israel citizens are not treated any differently. 

Reform and Conservative Fake conversions and non-Jewish spouses, whether of Jews or those pretending to be Jews, are welcome.

Thousands of non-Jewish, African refugees insurgents are still in Israel, wreaking havoc in South Tel-Aviv and elsewhere, and living off of Israeli citizens without their consent.

The deportation of children born to foreign workers is fought hand and foot, and these children are granted special status, and can result in increased intermarriages. Meanwhile Torah observant Jews are prevented from even entering. 

Years ago Former Minister of the Interior Avraham Poraz (Shinui) even blocked the immigration of Jews from India and Perú. Why? In my opinion, this was done in order to prevent a massive influx of Jews, most of whom are religious, would settle in Yehudah, Shomron, and Azza (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza), and who would vote for nationalist parties.

The war of demographics is not between Jews and Arabs. Rather it is between those who want to live in the Jewish Homeland and those who prefer to be part of assimilate into a globalist society.

ואז מה התנאי הבא שהם יקבעו לנו? בדיקת קורונה תהיה חובה בכדי לנסוע למקומות אחרים? בדיקת קורונה תהיה חובה בכדי לנסוע לעבודה? או אפילו בכדי להשיג כרטיס רב קו? ומה עם חיסוני חובה?

עידד לקלל את החרדים שאינם רוצים חיסונים ימשיך. יש הרבה ישראלים חילוניים שגם לא רוצים לקבל חיסונים. או התקשורת תתעלם מזה או תקטין את חשיבות התנועה נגד חיסונים, ויעבדו דרך שיטה אחרת להמשך את האסטרטגיה שלהם ״הפרד ומישול״ את עם ישראל.

והם משיכים (לנסות) להוכיח לנו שכל זה לטובתנו.

JNS.org – Israel’s Cabinet on Sunday approved a plan to designate Eilat and the Dead Sea region as “green tourism islands,” entry to which will be conditional on the presentation of an up-to-date negative COVID-19 test.

Under the plan, hotels in these areas will be allowed to reopen, subject to Health Ministry guidelines, and further down the road other businesses will also be allowed to reopen to serve the hotel guests, the Israeli Tourism Ministry said in a statement on Monday. (cont.)

So, in order to travel to the Dead Sea or Eilat, an up-to-date negative COVID-19 test will be required.

Our travel was restricted during the last two lockdowns. I believe this was done for several reasons, not the least of which for general population. Restricting protests against Prime Minister Netanyahu, pitting different communities against each other, reducing the influence of Torah on the State by diminishing our holiday observances, and continuing the movement toward a cashless society have only been a few objectives of the powers that be we have seen manifested by the travel restrictions.

Now that they have started getting us used to the Government restricting our movements, they can move forward with their plan to have everyone tested and vaccinated. First, place a condition on the unnecessary luxury of travel to out of the way, vacation destinations. Not everyone can afford the time or money to travel to the Dead or Eilat. Even those who had their heart set on spending their hard earned money on such a trip could always just throw up their arms and say, "OK. So we'll go somewhere else. Somewhere cheaper."

But, what's next? Mandatory testing to travel to other places? Mandatory testing even to go to work? Or even to obtain a Rav Kav (transit card)? And what about mandatory vaccines?

Demonization of Haredim will continue, because many do not want to get vaccines? There are plenty of secular Israelis who also do not want vaccines. This fact will either be buried, or the number of anti-vaxers among them will be minimized, and some other method will be used to continue the divide and conquer strategy of the powers that be, however cliché that may sound.

And of all this is, and will continue to be, presented to us as for our own good.

ומה המחיר העסקה הזו? לדחות את סיפוח חלק משמעותי ממולדתנו ללא הגבלת זמן (קראו: לבטל) , שהושבעה לנו באופן אלוהי, ושנכבשה על ידינו בתשכ״ז / 1967 (במדבר לג,נ-נו), ואין בזכותנו להחליט למכור אותה פומבית לכל המרבה במחיר.

השלב הבא בדרך לשלום עם מדינות ישמעאל אחרות? אל תקראו ״שלום״ אלא "של או״ם". אם המחיר של ההסכם עם איחוד האמירויות הערביות הוא לוותר על שליטה מלאה על חלק גדול של המולדת היהודית, לוותור על חלקים בנגב ולמסור אותם לעברים הנקראים פלסטינים, להקים להם חיבורי כביש מהיר ומסילות רכבת בכדי לעזור להם להתאחד, אז מה יהיה המחיר לשלום עם סעודיה? אני מפחד לחשוב על זה.

לא. הפרס הכי הגדול של עסקה זו עם איחוד האמירויות הערביות הוא יותר אהבה ואישור זכות להתקיים הצפוים מהגויים. ולמרות המניעים הנסתרים של לאיחוד האמירויות הערביות יש להרבה יהודים אפילו לדתיים לאומיים (ציוניים) תקוה גדולה שהאירופים וגויים מרחבי העולם עומדים להראות לנו אהבה, וסוף סוף יאמינו שאנו אומה בדיוק כמו כל האומות הנשארות!

הממ ... אנחנו כמו כל אומות האחרות? נשמע לי ממש כגישה די מתבוללת.

Yesterday morning Israelis [were told to] look forward to the historic flight of El Al Airlines from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates [UAE], a grand symbol of the burgeoning peace between the State of Israel and the Arab world.

Now, look at the placement of the words for "peace" on the airplane itself.

Arabic is on top to placate the Arabs (Read: kuschen tuchus), proclaiming their relative placement in this nascent relationship. Would Hebrew have been first on an Emirates Airlines flight? I sincerely doubt it.

English follows to show that the U. S. will always be the broker between Israel and Arabs and other Muslims. (Read: the U. S.-Edom/Esau calls the shots will force Israel to capitulate for the sake of his own peace with Ishmael/Arabs).

Hebrew is last, because we're just so thrilled that an Arab nation would even recognize our right to exist! ...because it is apparently not good enough for us to recognize our own right to exist.

Now, look at the flags. The U. S. delegation will accompany Israel's delegation to the UAE. Out of the convenience of stopping off in Israel first? Out of friendship and to give Israel a pep talk on the way? No. Rather to hold our hand, like a parent holding a child's hand while crossing the street, and smacking that hand when misbehaving in the middle of said, dangerous street. Did you notice there is even an American flag on PM Netanyahu's mask?

And this deal with the UAE comes at what price? Postponing indefinitely (Read: giving up on) the annexation of a significant portion of our homeland, Divinely Promised to us, reconquered by us in תשכ״ז/1967 (Num. 33:50-56), and not for us to decide to cut apart and auction off to the highest bidder.

And what do we get in return for forsaking of our homeland, this precious gift from the Holy One, Blessed Be He, for which we fought so valiantly and sacrificed?

Economic opportunities? Maybe. But, I certainly do not recall anything in Torah Law allowing such an exchange to take place (Mishneh Torah, Laws of Avodah Zarah 10:1-9). Oh, that's right. The State of Israel does not concern itself with Torah, one of our two morashot (heritages), the second being our homeland.

A stepping stone to peace with other Ishmaelite nations? More like "piece." If the price for an agreement with the [UAE] is giving up on full control over the heartland of the Jewish Homeland, and giving up segments of the Negev, as well as the construction of freeway and rail connections to help the Palestinians Pseudostinians unify, then what will the price be for peace with Saudi Arabia? I shudder to think.

No. The grand prize of this deal with the UAE is the additional love and validation expected from non-Jews. Even those Jews who know that the UAE has ulterior motives have high hopes that Europeans and other non-Jews from around the world will throw love at us, and recognize that we are just like every other nation!

Hmm... Like every other nation? Sounds like a rather assimilationist attitude to me.

Our collective co-dependence is at such a high, pathological level that we are quick to cut off our hands to save our fingers. Now, just take a moment to let the insanity of that metaphor sink in.

And, of course, here is Jared Kushner (above), the token Orthodox Jew putting his heksher, his stamp of approval. Another Orthodox Jew, Avi Berkowitz, stands close by.

Many Jews in Israel identifying themselves as "Religious Zionists" and/or of the Hasbara [Israel PR] crowd are writhing in ecstasy over this deal. Since when does the definition of Zionism include the auctioning off of our Homeland? Oh, that's right. It doesn't.

That is your cue to think back to the expulsion of Jews and handing over of land to Hamas in תשס״ה/2005.

Now, tell me again how giving up parts of our God-given homeland is for the sake of "Zionism."

הבוקר במהלך הנסיעה שלי מהמרכז לעבודה בירושלים, שני שוטרי משטרה עלו לאוטובוס וקראו "בדיקת מסכות, בדיקת מסכות!"

כמה ימים לפני זה נראה לי שפתאום כולם הקפידו לחבוש מסכות. אני לא מאמין שזה בגלל הפחד שנוצר ומתפשט על ידי תקשורת החדשות, כולל סילוף הסטטיסטיקה. אלא בגלל ההודעה מכוחות הממשלה על פריסת שוטרים בליבוש רגיל בכדי לאכוף את תקנות המסכה.

וגם השבוע ייושמו מחדש כמה הגבלות קורונה שהוטלו בעבר, כולל מגבלה על מספר הנוסעים באוטובוסים בין עירוניים. בארים, מועדוני לילה וחדרי כושר נסגרו. למסעדות ובתי קפה הותרו עד 20 לקוחות בפנים, ו -30 בחוץ, עם שמירת מרחק חברתי. והקנס בגין אי חבישת מסכה במקומות ציבוריים עלה מ-200 ש"ח ל-500 ש"ח.

לאחר שאחד השוטרים הסתכל לבנדנה (צעיף קטן) שלי, הוא המשיך במעבר. לא יכולתי לשמוע את מה קרה בין השוטרים לאחד נוסעים. נשמעה לי כעימות בינם לאישה שלא חבשה את המסכה שלה. אני הצלחתי לצלם רק תמונה אחת של אחד השוטרים.

וכאן אני לא מגלה לכם את קו אוטובוס הזה או המיקום איפה האירוע הזה קרה בכדי להגן על ביטחוני.

האישה התבקשה לרדת מהאוטובוס למרות שמיד היא שמה את המסכה שלה. אני מניח שהשוטרים סילקו אותה בכדי לתת לה דו"ח ללא לעכב את האוטובוס.

אני מקווה שהממשלה תמשיך לנהוג כמו בתקופות אחרי פיגויי איבה. לקפוץ מהר כדי להוכיח לאזרחים שהיא "עושה משהו," ואז אחרי כמה זמן נרגעה עד שהיא לא עושה כלום.

כשהאוטובוס נכנס לירושלים שמתי לב לשלט הזה שכבר ראיתי כמה פעמים בעבר. השלט ע"י זזים "תנועה אזרחית של ערבים ויהודים שמקדמים יחד דמוקרטיה, שוויון ואזרחות פעילה." בעיקר תנועת זזים פועלת נגד תכנית המעקב ע"י השב"כ למען בריאות הציבור. חשוב לציין שגם אנשי השמאל וגם אנשי הימין מתנגדים לתכניות כזו.

דיקטטורת קורונה?
ועכשיו עבר החוק בכנסת לחדש את תכנית מעקב של השב"כ,... "לטובתנו" כמובן.

לצערנו הממשלה לא מוותרת על שום הזדמנות לשלוט על אזרחיה. ולכן כדאי לשים לב: החוק הנוכחי לתת לשב"כ לעקב מאחריהם לא ייבטלו בעתיד אלא הממשלה פשוט תפסיק לדבר עליו.

טיפשות קורונה? בכוונה או לא בכוונה?

הנה סיפור העובר ממקום למקום בפייסבוק (שם מספרת הסיפור נמחק), עוד דוגמא כיצד הממשלה נוהג לשלוט עלינו.

אני לא בטוח במאה אחוז שהסיפור הזה אמיתי. אחרי שגילו את התשלומים השונים מקופ״חים לבתי חולים בארה"ב, 39,000 דולר למוות מנגיף קורונה ורק 13,000 דולר בגין גורם מוות אחר, אמת הסיפור הזה ממש אפשרית.

ואסור לשכוח את הדרך הקלאסית לשלוט על האוכלוסייה: ליצור מחלוקות בין קהילות שונות ולצפות אותן לריב להתנהג כאילו להביא שלום בין אדם לחברו. אבל באמת הם פועלים בכדי לשמור את מצב המחלוקת ביניהן (הפרד ומישול). כפי שציינתי בתחילת המאמר הזה, בארים, מועדונים, וחדרי כושר הושבתו. עם זאת, בתי כנסת וישיבות יישארו פתוחים. (עדכון: YNET: ח"כ יפעת שאשא ביטון, יו"ר ועדת הקורונה, הגישה בקשה לקבל ראיות המחייבות את סגירת חדרי הכושר והברים.)

התקשורת כבר משפיעה לקוראיה וצופיה להאשים את חברי הכנסת החרדים בהחזקת הממשלה כבת ערובה. לדעתי האמת היא שכוחות השלטון (לא דקווא אנשי הממשלה) פשוט מעודדים לקהילות שונות לכעוס אחת על השניה ודווקא על הקהילה הזו והאשמה עליה בעדינות בהפצת הנגיף. האם שכונות בתל אביב הוסגרו? בכלל לא כמובן, ולמרות מספר המקרים הגובר והולך. ומה קורה למסתננים הלא שומרים את חוקי קורונה בדרום תל אביב? הם נעשנים? לא.

ויש לכוחות השלטון דרך נוספת לשלוט עלינו: סגירת מקומות המיועדים להרגיע אותנו, להמיך רמת הלחץ שלנו, ולחזק הבריאות שלנו. ועוד הגבלה הוכרזה השבוע. שירות האוטובוסים הציבורי מפסיק בשעה 22:00.

אני חייב לשאול,למרות שאני מפחד לשאול: מתי הגישות לפארקים, לשבילים בטבע ולחופים יוגבלו שוב? כבר ראינו איך אנחנו התמודדנו כתקועים בבית במהלך עונת האביב. אנחנו ישראלים שממש אוהבים לבלות זמן בחוץ או בעיר או בטבע. כמה זמן נוכל לסבול מהסגר חדש? ולהיתקע בבית במהלך חודשי הקיץ החמים יותר?

נראה לי לא הרבה זמן.

This morning during my commute to work in Jerusalem from Central Israel, two police officers boarded the bus announcing "Mask check, mask check!"

A few days before this, it seemed that everyone had become strict about wears masks all of a sudden. I do not believe it was because of media fear mongering, and manipulation of statistics. Rather, it was because of the announcement of plain clothes policemen being deployed to enforce the mask regulations.

Today was the first day that some of the previously lifted, corona based restrictions, were to be re-implemented, including a limit on the number of passengers on intercity buses. Bars, clubs, and gyms were shutdown. Restaurants and cafes were now allowed 20 customers inside, and 30 outside, with social distancing. And the fine for not wearing a mask in public had risen from 200 NIS  ($58) to 500 NIS ($145).

After one of the officers stared at my bandanna, it passed muster, as is should, and he proceeded down the corridor. I was unable to hear the officers confront one woman not wearing her mask. The single photo of the officer was all I succeeded in taking. The woman was asked to leave the bus, which she did. But, I saw that she was wearing a mask. My educated guess is that even though she had a mask, she was not wearing it. And that they asked her to leave the bus, so they could issue her a citation without delaying our bus.

For my own protection, I will not reveal the bus line nor location where this took place.

Corona Tracking

Coming into Jerusalem, I noticed this sign (second image above), I had seen several times before. But, this time I took a closer look. Picturing Members of Knesset, the sign says: "Don't capitulate. Stop the Corona Dictatorship"

The sign is from Zazim, "a movement of Arabs and Jews promoting democracy, equality and active citizenship." Mostly, it appears that in this campaign the Zazim movement is working against the Shabba"k's (secret police) corona surveillance program, for the sake of "public health." It is important to note that both those on the left and the [real] right oppose such plans.

And, guess what? The Knesset just approved the re-implementation of the Shabba"k's corona tracking,... "for our own benefit," of course.

Corona Government Action
And just now, the Knesset passed yet another law, allowing the Cabinet to enact "emergency" laws without full Knesset approval, presumably related to hindering the spread of the corona virus.

Will we eventually forget the existence of this law as well?

Corona Incompetence? (Maybe Not) 

Now here is a story going around Facebook (translation of the last graphic above):

The mother of a friend of mine did a corona test at the beginning of the week. Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) staff came to her home, and did the test. And... the swabs were left on the table... They just forgot..

Two days later she received a call from the Ministry of Health, [saying] that she was positive!!!

She said to the representative: Sir, the swabs that you took are still here on my living room table...

The representative was quiet for half a minute, and then divulged to her: "It's written in the computer - the tests were lost - tell the patient that the test is positive!!!"

Do you understand??!!How many people were supposed to go into isolation, feel the pressure, lose jobs, not go to school and more...
Because of this?

I cannot verify the truth of this story (name of author erased). With the differential payouts to hospitals reported in the U. S., $39,000 for a corona death and $13,000 for other cause of death, it makes a lot of sense.

Corona Conquest
And last but not least, the classic way to control the populace: Divide and conquer. Keeping various communities at each other's throats. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, bars, clubs, and gyms have been shutdown. However, synagogues and yeshivos (religious schools) will remain open.
 (Update: YNET: MK Yifat Shasha Biton, chair of the Knesset corona committee, is requesting evidence necessitating the shutdown of gyms and bars.)

The media has already begun blaming the Haredi (ultra-orthodox) members of Knesset for holding the government hostage. But, I believe the truth is that the powers that be, and that does not necessarily mean the government, is simply building on the hatred of this community and blame subtly put on it for the spread of the virus. Have any neighborhoods in Tel-Aviv been put on lock down? No. Of course not, in spite of the increasing numbers of cases there. And what about the non-compliant, illegal aliens in South Tel Aviv? Nothing.

The closure of places designed for reduction of stress, blowing off steam, and supporting our health is just an added control benefit for them. It was just announced that public bus service will not stop after 10:00 PM.

I hate to ask when access to parks, trails, and beaches will be limited again. We already saw how we Israelis, who love being outdoors, dealt with being stuck inside during the cooler months of March and April. How long we will be able to suffer being stuck inside during the summer months?

Not for very long.

מי לא יכל לצפות את מקרה כזה? דיון על מה לעשות בשביל בעלי מכשירים ללא ללא אפשרות לשלוח או לקבל מסרונים (הודעות טקסט) כבר מתקיימת שנים. אז אין זכות לאף אחד להגיד, "אופס! שכחנו."

אז הטעות הזו בגלל אפליית קהילה החרדית? או האם האחראים ברכבת ישראל או במשרד התחבורה אינם מסוגלים בצורה מגוחכת?

ומי יפוטר בגלל זה?

כנראה אף אחד.

In order to travel on the train in Israel these days, a reservation is required in order to avoid overcrowding at the stations - as part of the Corona virus restrictions. 

The easy and quick way to book an advance voucher without having to wait for a representative or to physically arrive at the train station is on the Israel Rail website. 

But in order to complete the purchase of the travel voucher, you need to type in a confirmation message that is received by SMS on the registrant's phone, a common step to block theft and phishing. 

But unlike other companies that allow voice mail to those who do not have a phone that supports receiving SMS messages, this is not possible for the train. (cont...)

Who couldn't see this coming? Discussion of what to do, or what not to do, with those carrying phones without text message capability has been going on for years. So, it's not like they can say, "Oops! We forgot."

So are Haredim (ultra-orthodox) being discriminated against, yet again? Or are the people responsible in Israel Railways or in Ministry of Transportation just ridiculously incompetent?

Who will be getting fired for this?

Probably nobody.

Just another accepted push of Haredim into the secular world, in words toward assimilation.

סוף סוף אני נסעתי ברכבת במסלול החדש בין תחנת ירושלים - נבון ליד התחנה המרכזית לאוטובוסים לתל אביב. המסלול עדיין מגיע רק לנתב"ג. לבסוף הוא אמור להגיע לתל אביב ואפילו להרצליה ואחר כך לכרמיאל עם התקדמות במערכת ספיקת כוח החשמל.

בסרטון הזה מופיע נוף דרום-מערבי בין המנהרה הראשונה לשנייה שבו אפשר לראות בית העלמין הר מנוחות ובין המנהרה השנייה לשלישית שבו אפשר לראות את מבשרת ציון.

I finally took the train on the new route between Jerusalem Station - Navon near the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station. The route still only reaches Ben-Gurion Airport. Eventually, it will reach Tel Aviv and even to Herzliya, and after that, Carmiel as the work progresses on the electrical power system.

This video shows a southwestern view between the first and second tunnels where you can see the Mount Menuchem cemetery, and between the second and third tunnels where you can see the City of Mevaseret Zion.

הערב: שתי הפגנות בירושלים! / Two Demonstrations in Jerusalem Tonight!

הערב התקיימו שתי הפגנות בירושלים, אחת של הפלג הירושלים באזור רח' שרי ישראל בגלל מעצר בחור ישיבה מסרב להגיע ללשכת הגיוס והשני בכניסה לעיר בגלל הבחור האתיופי בן 17 שנהרג על ידי שוטר משטרה בקרית חיים.

הייתי בדרך לשרי ישראל להפגש עם חבר. בגלל ההפגנה שמה החלטנו להפגש בהלו תימן בכניסה לעיר. בדרך לשם אני ראיתי את ההפגנה הזאת.

רכבים פרטיים הצליחו לצאת דרך כביש בגין וגן סחרוף. ואין צריך לומר שהיה לתחבורה הציבורית בלאגן חבל על הזמן! ב-20:45 ראינו את הרכבת הקלה בשרות.

חשוב לראות שאוכלוסיית ההפגנה הזאת מעורבת מאוד. נכון, היו בחורי ישיבה (לטאים, חסידים, ספרדים, תימנים, וכו') מבלים בהפגנה מפני שהם השתעממו מלעשות שום דבר בערב. אבל היתה להם הזדמנות להכיר את המפגינים וללמוד על העניינים הקשיים של יהודים שונים ושהם לא המטרות היחידות של ממשלת המדינה.

On Monday evening, two demonstrations were held in Jerusalem, one of HaPeleg HaYerushalmi in the area of Sarei Yisrael Street due to the arrest of a yeshiva student who refused to make his appearance at the IDF enlistment office and the other at the entrance to the city, because of the 17-year-old Ethiopian boy who was killed by a police officer in Qiryat Hayim.

I was on my way to meet with a friend on Sarei Yisrael Street. But, because of the demonstration there, we decided to meet at the entrance to the city. On the way there I ran into the other demonstration.

Private cars managed to leave the city via the Begin Highway and Saharoff Garden. Needless to say, public transportation was a complete mess! At 8:45 pm we did see that the light rail was running again.

It is important to see that the population of this demonstration is very mixed. True, some yeshiva students (Litvak, Hassidic, Sephardi, Yemenites, etc.) were hanging around the demonstration because they were bored. But they had the opportunity to meet those demonstrating and learn about the difficulties of various Jews and that they are not the only targets of the State vis-a-vis the police.

אפשר לבקר את נפתלי בנט בקלות (אני מבקר אותו כל הזמן), אבל לפי מה שאני שמעתי ממורים מכל מיני מגזרים ומכל רחבי הארץ, בנט לא היה נורא בתור שר החינוך. אני לא שמעתי הרבה תלונות על העדפה או על אפליה.

ועכשיו, הרב רפי פרץ בתור שר החינוך? בעיקר אני מפחד מהחינוך הממלכתי חזק שאני מצפה שהוא ידגיש בכיתות של הילדים שלנו. כלומר נאמנות של המדינה שווה לנאמנות של הקדוש ברוך הוא. אני מצפה שהעניין של סירוב פקודות צה"ל הנוגדות את התורה יימחק לחלוטין מהראשים שלהם. את הרעיון שאין דבר כסתירה חוקי התורה לחוקי מדינת ישראל יאכילו לילדים בכוח.

למתנחלים (מתנחלים אמיתיים, לא תושבי הפרברים), המעיזים לפתוח בית ספר פרטי חדש או אפילו בית ספר מוכר ולא רשום יהיו יותר אתגרים וקשיים מהיום. הישיבות הנותנות שיעורים על ענייני התורה נוגדי נאמנות שלמה למדינת ישראל אפילו באופן תאורטי יהיו בסיכון לכיבוש על ידי הממשלה ולהסגר, כמו שעשו לישיבת עוד יוסף חי שביצהר בשומרן. ענייני התורה כגון הל׳ עבודה זרה וחוקי הגוים והל׳ חוקי מלכים ומלחמותיהם של הרמב״ם ז״ל ימשיכו להסלף או להמחק לחלוטין מלימודים בישיבות. ההסכם על "הסטטוס קוו בין דת למדינה" רק גורם לי לפחד עוד יותר.

אם אתם מזדהים "אנשי ימין דתיים", שמפרשים או מסלפים בקלות את התורה, או אפילו מתעלמים מהלכות כשנוח לכם או מרוויחים לכם תרומות מהגוים, כגון מצוות לא תעשה לא תחנם (דברים ז, ב), אז לא אכפת לכם מהחברות (מה שנראה לי) של ח״כ בצלאל סמוטריץ' עם הנוצרים ״המתנדבים״ בשומרן (הוא עדיין מתיחס להם כחברים?). לדעתי המטרה של הנוצרים האלה היא חניה בקרקע ​​הארץ שלנו כאילו ״חניה בקרקע״ (לראות את משנה תורה, הל׳ עבודה זרה וחוקות הגוים י,א-ט). למעשה, יש מכם שמעודדים את זה. לעומת זאת, אולי (הדגש על המילה "אולי") אתם יכולים לראות את האפשרות שמשתמשים בח״כ סמוטריץ כמו שעיר לעזאזל.

YNET: Netanyahu gives education ministry to Peretz, transportation to Smotrich

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allocated MK Bezalel Smotrich the transportation ministry and MK Rafi Peretz the education ministry, both from Union of Right-Wing Parties.

The two will hold temporary positions, until the September 17 elections. Both sides discussed and agreed on keeping the current status quo between religion and state.

Say what you will about Naftali Bennett (...and I say plenty about him), but from what my sources tell me, he wasn't half bad as Minister of Education. For the most part, neither secular, State religious, nor Haredi communities claimed favoritism, and no one claimed to have been pressured or ignored.

Now, Rabbi Rafi Peretz as Minister of Education? The first fear which pops into my mind regarding Rafi Peretz as Minister of Education is the strengthened indoctrination of our children into diehard State loyalty. I believe that the concept of refusing IDF orders which violate the Torah will not be increasingly demonized. Rather this concept will be erased from memory completely. The idea that there can ever be a conflict between the Torah and Israeli State law will become a mantra drilled into kids' heads, even more than it already is.

Settlers (real settlers, not suburbanites) daring to open semi-private schools will be increasingly scrutinized. Yeshivas even thinking about teaching anything controversial, such as the Mishneh Torah's Laws of Avodah Zarah or Laws of Kings and their Wars, will be taken over, or simply shut down. The agreement on "status quo between religion and state" only strengths my fears.

If you're one of these quasi-"religious right-wingers," who conveniently interprets away, or simply ignores halakhoth (Torah laws) when convenient or lucrative (A-hem!) to do so, such as the negative commandment of Lo Techonem (Deut. 7:2), then you're not going to care about Betzalel Smotrich's apparent chumminess with Christians, who are, in my opinion, attempting to gain a foothold on our Land. In fact, you may even cheer it on. However, you might (emphasis on the word "might") be able to see how Smotrich is possibly being set up as a scapegoat.

These days, the Minister of Transportation is the probably worst position to hold. The recent workers' strikes, Shabbat violation controversy, and the incessant problems with the not so new Jerusalem - Ben Gurion Airport "speed train" are only a few of the reasons why Smotrich looks like he is being set up for failure. Either Smotrich believes he can handle this position with all of its volatility anyway, has a few political tricks up his sleeve (I doubt it), or he really is that clueless.
