Once a resident of the settlement of Tekoa who thinks to me why they did not build a fence around the settlement. He said to me, "As soon as there is a fence around the settlement, it does not tell the Hebrews that what's inside is ours. Rather, such a fence informs the Arabs that everything that is outside the settlement does not belong to us."

Even before Ariel Sharon built the so-called "security fence, which delivers the same message to the Arabs as all fences do," the powers that be had already decided the borders of the State of Israel, and according to them they do not include all Judea and Samaria.

A buddy of mine, writer Zack Katowitz, tipped me off to an article on Haaretz.com. Of course, I prefer to call the Israeli news daily....

...instead, but that's besides the point.

The article reports on the criticism of a recently released commercial for the Israeli cellular phone (plus) company Cellcom Media, and the founding of a Facebook Group condemning it. The group, called "גם לי יש בחילה מהפרסומת החדשה של סלקום" ("I too got nauseous watching the new Cellcom ad"), is trying to convince Cellcom to pull the ad:

"We could go into the media messages spouting racism any which way, but if you have come here than you too think they're uncalled for," reads the introduction to the Facebook group. "The McCann Erickson copywriter displayed an unbelievable propensity for bad taste."

The group also centered on what they feel is offensive in the new commercial, pointing out the fact that the supposedly "good" soldiers fear the possibility that the "monster living on the other side of the wall could steal the ball - but when the ball returns to Israeli hands, we discover that that monster isn't fierce at all, and actually feels like playing with the soldiers - oh joy!"

"Good enough reason to set up a beach party under the wall, complete with sexy female soldiers and musical instruments."

Unlike fellow blogger Jameel Rashid, I couldn't care less if the ad "makes IDF soldiers look human," or not.

(I was not fooled by the the soldiers in kippoth, crying and "praying" before they threw Jews out of their homes in Azza four years ago. Were you? What they did were acts of evil. Crying did not let them off the hook, nor did citing the "rulings" of their mamlakhti "rabbis.")

I think the Facebook Group has got it all wrong. If anything, I thought that the ad refutes any claims of "Palestinian" monsterhood, and is an advocate against the wall in question, showing that those on the other side are not monsters, but playful,...and harmless.

As you know, I am a big advocate against that stupid [Ariel Sharon's defacto border] wall. My only issue with the ad is the highly inaccurate portrayal of the so-called "Palestinians."

They really are monsters.

(JPost.com) Tristan Anderson, 38, of Oakland, California, was hit in the head by a tear gas canister during a protest against the West Bank security barrier in Nil'in on Friday and underwent surgery at the hospital, near Tel Aviv.

Anderson is on a respirator but in stable condition, the spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity because of the issue's sensitivity.

The protest took place in the West Bank town of Nil'in, near Ramallah, where Palestinians and international backers frequently gather to demonstrate against the security barrier. (Read more...)

No, I do not intend to shed any tears for this man's hutzpah and idiocy. However, I do hate that fence; it is evil. So, I have to thank the leftists for protesting and otherwise attacking it, albeit for the wrong reasons.

Not only that, but while these leftists are engaging in these protests, there are less of them available to come and harass us in Yehudah and Shomron (Judea and Samaria), uproot and burn our fields and vineyards, and incite the Arabs to doing even more violence than usual.

When such incidents occur on Fridays, it is particularly irritating as we are already occupied with preparing for Shabbath. So, thanks for being in Nil'in, far away from us, on Erev Shabbath.

Besides, fences don't really say "What's on THIS side is ours." Rather, they really say [to the Arabs, the EU, the US, and first and foremost to Israelis], "What's on the other side is NOT ours."

That's why the building of a fence around the town of Itamar, near Shchem (See Genesis 33:18), came to blows, and why towns such as Teq'oa (See 2 Samu'el 14:2) near Beth Lehem

This is not at all an insignificant message. Not only is it a powerful psychological one, but more importantly a religious and spiritual one.

When we build a fence in the middle of our Homeland, not so long after being able to retake it back from the Jordanian occupiers, a task we could only have accomplished with the help and permission of HaQadosh Baruch Hu (The Holy One, Blessed Be He), what message are we sending to Him?

Not the one of gratitude to which He is entitled.

Some would have you believe that the fence is good, because it "saves lives." However, that seems to be because some are using a galuthi (diaspora) logic, and not an halachic (Jewish legal) one.

Even former Head of Merkaz HaRav Yeshivah, and champion of religious, state loyalism, Rabbeinu Tzvi Yehudah Kook ztz"l (photo with Rabbi Me'ir Kahane HY"D at the Western Wall), said that...

One must do everything to delay and to prevent the uprooting of Jewish strongholds.... One must practice self-sacrifice for their sake completely.

Yet, his students Rabbi Dov Lior (Hevron-Qiriyath Arba), Rabbi Zalman Melamed (Beth-El), and [I believe] Rabbi Moshe Tzuri'el (B'nei Braq) have continually had to remind us that "everything" means everything.

Building a fence, former Prime Minister Sharon's defacto border, he continually claimed was never to be a border, is the first step in throwing our God-given and re-given Homeland back in His face.

And so, I would like to thank the Leftists for protesting that evil "security" fence, so that I can be "occupied" with other issues, not have a gas canister thrown at my head (at least not in Nil'in), and so that less of you are available to incite the Arabs to more violence than usual, and to destroy my neighbors' fields and vineyards.

I recently unsubscribed from a fellow blogger's e-mail list, notifying readers of new posts. There were a few reasons I unsubscribed, but the main reason was this keeping-wearing blogger's incessant and annoying support for Israel's so-called security fence. In response to my request to "Unsubscribe," I received the following:

You're off. Sorry to see you leave after all these years. May I ask why?

My reply was the following, with a few additions...

We've been through this before.

It's called the Torah.

Milhemeth misswah dohah piqu'ah nefesh, so your support for the so-called "security fence" really goes out the window.

That fence is evil. Saves lives? The above already demonstrates that to be irrelevant.

What about the lives of those of us on the other side?

What about the government systematically experimenting to find ways to remove us? Police harassment, encouraging Arabs to file "complaints," allowing leftists free reign to uproot our trees and burn our fields,... The list goes on.

All of Yehudah and Shomron belong to us. Now that it is in our hands it is forbidden to give it up.

At the very least, voluntarily giving up land would mesirah.

Rabbeinu Tzvi Yehudah (Kook) ztz"l wrote that one must do everything in order to prevent or at least delay the evacuation of any Jewish settlement.

Even the debate among his students was never about whether or not Israel should hang on to liberated Israeli territory. It was only about whether or not "everything" included soldiers refusing orders to remove Jews from their homes.

The security fence diminishes Israel's sovereignty over part of it land, in essence its heartland. We all now know that when former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon claimed that the security fence would never become a border, defacto or otherwise, he was lying.

If we really did what it takes to hold on to the land, and HaShem decided that we lose part of it (Has weHallilah), then that's a different story. But we're not.

Instead we're cow-towing to the wishes of the goyim, to Esau, and to Yishma'el. We are allowing the Eruv Rav to dictate our fate.

I generally like to keep an eye on various "points of view."

But I don't really see any point to following yours anymore.

There is a whole JEWISH world out there outside of ****** or ******, or wherever you are (I forgot).

Jews are on this Earth to live by Torah and Torah principles, not by Western principles.

I hate to break it to you, but they are not one and the same.

I believe Rabbi Avraham Yitzhaq Kook ztz"l spoke about galuth p'nimith.

I would like recommend that you this look concept up.

May you and your family enjoy long, happy, and healthy lives.

In the event that you and I are actually in more agreement than I was to believe, then you are dong a great disservice to Am Yisrael by not allowing that to be fully reflected in your public writing.

Thus we can discern from this pattern of logic that if it looks like a border crossing, sounds like a border crossing, and feels like a border crossing, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have an opening in a wall, where individuals are stopped by guards and gates before passing between two areas of separately controlled pieces of land,...on our hands.

C'mon. Did any of us really believe him? Well, obviously some of us did, as he was re-elected. Hey, even the leftists are against that stupid waste of space, and bazillions of sheqqels, ...albeit for sick and demented reasons.

Let's take a look at some of the clues that the so-called security barrier was always meant to be a de facto border, shall we?

"Let's be real. There is a security problem," she said. "No one wants to have barriers, but there is a security barrier there. We've been told many, many times and been assured that it's not a political barrier and it cannot be a political barrier."

"Told," the key word in her sentence is "told." Really. Do you believe everything you're told by the Israeli government? Do you think we believe everything you tell us?

Now, would you believe there are actually Torah observant, "Zionists" who actually agree with having a huge, ugly fence running through our country? At least one of them is a blogger, who shall remain nameless, ...for the time being. Needless to say, he and I live on different sides of said fence.

"It has been shown to save lives," he says. Has it? Better yet, does it matter?

Wait a minute. How long has there been a fence around Azza? How many lives has that fence saved?

Barak, Yesha Leaders Agree to Destroy Jewish Towns

(IsraelNN.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Yesha leaders have reportedly reached an agreement for the non-violent eviction of hundreds of residents from their homes in 26 Jewish communities throughout Judea and Samaria.

According to the report in the Hebrew-language Haaretz daily, Barak has agreed to approve building and infrastructure permits frozen by the government in response to US pressure to drive Jews out of Yesha, as compensation for the non-violent abandonment of certain Jewish towns. In addition, victims of the eviction would be permitted to move to other Jewish communities in the area.

Sources in Barak's office said the Yesha Council "knows" that the Supreme Court deal is expected to order IDF soldiers to tear down the communities, and that the deal is intended to prevent violence between residents and eviction forces.

How many more "deals" can the government come up with before they will have no choice but to resort to violence?

Of course, the original came from the leftist Ha'Aretz Newspaper. So who knows what, if anything, is true in their report. This newspaper has its own agenda, to demonize anyone living Yehudah and Shomron (Judea & Samaria).

In the past the powers that be have knocked an abandoned caravan or two. Years before the infamous police attack on protesters in Amona, an agreement was made by the shifty power players in YeSh"A to have a water tower taken down in front of the news cameras (CNN), only to be put up again the next day. There simply aren't enough abandoned caravans and mobile water towers around to foot the public relations bill anymore.

Such "deal-makers" are doing a great disservice to Am Yisrael, and to its struggle to retain control of its God-given Land. This is how we expect Jew-hating UN, EU, and Arabs to behave, in a sneaky and dishonest manner. Such strategies only serve to cheapen and discredit our Divine claims to the Land.

Fortunately, the YeSh"A Rabbinical Council, with such leaders as Rabbi Dov Lior (Qiriyath Arba-Hevron), does not act in such a way.

Unfortunately, the YeSh"A Council does not quite get it, continually displaying its hoser emunah (lack of faith), believing it must fear and thus negotiate with the human powers that be, ignoring the greater power in Universe. The YeSh"A Council justifies this by trying to pass off such sneaky approaches as our hishtadluth (require effort on Jews' part). As a whole it does not believe it possibly to retain control of all of Yehudah and Shomron, at least not without the will of the standing government. It will consider it a victory if we are able to hold on to those communities currently within the almighty security fence, failing to accept that the security fence can be picked up and moved at any time.

So, what's all this I have been hearing about a "New" YeSh"A Council? It looks like business as usual to me; Collaboration with the government.

It's Official...We're Rednecks....

Oh, I have no doubt that some of you will be offended by this post, and not just you in the Efrat-Ofra-Alon Shvuth-"You're hurting our precious image!"-PR crowd.

That's just too bad.

Hey, I'm not above qualifying, nor even apologizing in advance for blog posts, but this ain't gonna be one of 'em!

Let me start by asking you this:

Which group of people drives dusty, old pick-up trucks, raises livestock, lets its kids run around barefoot, often lives in mobile homes, and accused of being religious fanatics and possessing mythical stashes of weapons and ammunition?

Hmm...? Rednecks, you say?

Nope.

You got it! Jewish "settlers!"

Well,...not all of us would say so, but I will address that momentarily....

This comparison was pointed out to me some time ago. My reaction was an extended pause, followed..."Yeah, I guess we do all of those things, don't we? I hadn't thought of that."

After three years of living in half of a "qaravan" (mobile home) in the town of Ofra, the other half having been inhabited by a new immigrant from Canada (not that there's anything wrong with that), I swore (b'li neder) that I'd never call anyone "trailer trash" again.

But, now it's official. The powers that be in my town, the illustrious (or infamous, depending upon whom you ask) K'far Tapu'ah decided that it would be decorative (I guess that's what the motivation was) for Israeli Independence Day to hang up some of those tacky, plastic, strung-together flags around the town, those flags that one generally finds at a gas station, used car lot, or trailer park.

What were they thinking? I guess it's not considered tacky in Israel, but I'll bet that you Ramath Beth Shemesh (not that there's anything wrong with that) types are cringing at the thought of such flags gracing your neighborhood,...as well you should!

As I hinted above, not everyone residing in Yehudah and Shomron would be pleased with the comparison between "Settlers" and American rednecks.

No, we're not any of those things!" they would cry out.

"We're just your typical suburban, Jewish families with white picket fences."

And they would be correct, leaving out, of course, the part that when some of them are asked by their children, "Are we living on Jewish land? Or are we squatters on Arab land?" they hem and haw and don't know how to respond. Frustrated, and bored out of their minds, their children go hang out in Jerusalem,...searching for what? I'm not sure they even know.

Typical suburbanites. I'm not trying to put down my fellow Jews, Has we'Hallilah. Rather, a few holes punched into their system of denial might do them a bit of good. That may sound condescending, but it's true. Remember, we're talking about some of the same Jews who were silent about the sin of the security fence, or even supported it. After all, their towns were included within the fence's route.

Irrational beliefs such as "The government will never throw US out of OUR houses." isn't going to work for them much longer. Likewise, neither will "My teenager hanging out in a place called 'Crack Square' couldn't possibly be a warning sign"

On the other hand, one resident of Kokhav Ya'aqov takes exception with my differentiation between "settlers," suggesting that he isn't any less of a settler than we are out in the middle of nowhere in K'far Tapu'ah, getting ours dirty. I must say that over time my respect for this Jew has risen, recognizing that he demands his "settler" status, and takes pride in it.

I recall that when I still lived in Ofra, and looking for another town more suitable for me, I was accused by a certain resident of Itamar of "living in Jerusalem's backyard" (just like those in Kokhav Ya'aqov). Although I agreed with her, I defended Ofra as residents continued to believe that agriculture is, indeed, a "Jewish profession," along with medicine, law, and high-tech.

Being a "settler" isn't just where you live, it's supposed to be about what you believe.

...and, in my humble opinion, not worrying about what "others" think.

Taking this a step further, and focusing on the politically-incorrect, "fanatic" element mentioned above, Rav Binyamin Kahane HY"D once said something like:

"Let them all think we're crazy 'settlers.' Then maybe they'll leave us alone."

Oh, gee. There. I went and done it,...mentioned the "K" word.

Oh, yeah, I haven't forgotten that there will be those of you who are offended at "hutzpah" to quote Rav Binyamin hy"d, and probably in your "very humble" opinions, quoting him out of context.

But he was right; he IS right. We're either right and need to stand by what we're doing, or we're wrong and don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to defending our presence in Yehudah, Shomron, and for that matter Azza.

if that means driving around in dusty, old pick-up trucks, raising livestock, letting our kids run around barefoot, living in mobile homes will help us in our fulfillment of the misswah to settle the land, and being passionate about Torah means that we're religious fanatics, and everyone in K'far Shmaryahu and Ramath Aviv Gimmel believe we possess weapons stashes (Arab terrorists tremble in their terrorist shoes at the thought of my set of kitchen knives and spray bottles filled with bathroom cleanser), then so be it.

Maybe they will leave us alone.

The New Eged Schedule: A sign of the next expulsion

21 of the Eighth Month 5767

Last Sunday, 15 Marheshwan (Nov. 5), the new Eged bus schedule for the Shomron went into effect. Some buses were added; some service was cancelled. But, the main feature of the new schedule was the radical change in bus routes. Buses no longer travel the an unbroken trek from Jerusalem to the northern end of the Shomron, as previously covered by Line 473, ending in Netanyah and Line 474, ending in K'far Sabba. There is still one bus of the new Line 148 which makes the trek from Jerusalem to Immanuel at 6:30am, and Line 465 still connects Jerusalem with Qidumim, Karnei Shomron, and Immanu'el. However, the latter exits Jerusalem to the west, and travels north along the relatively new No. 6 expressway, avoiding the Binyamin Area and the heart of the Shomron entirely.

The new, Line 148 from Jerusalem to the various towns in the Shomron, such as Shilo, Eli, and Ma'aleh Levona, now ends in Ariel, instead of continuing on to Netanyah or K'far Sabba. Those desiring to arrive in Revava, Yaqir, Immanu'el, Etz Hayim, Einav, Karnei Shomron, and Qidumim must get on another bus, either the new, Line 73 to Netanyah or the new, Line 74 to K'far Sabba. There have already been reports of passengers to Qidumim missing their connecting 73 bus in Ariel by a few minutes, thus causing them an additional 1 1/2 wait.

So, what's the big deal you ask?

While strengthing the University of Yehudah and Shomron, recently upgraded in status from "college," the new bus routes are also in preparation for the the next expulsion of Jews from the Shomron, may God forbid. With a simple snap of the fingers, the new, Line 148 can disappear, cutting Shilo, Eli, Ma'aleh Levona, Rehalim, and K'far Tapu'ah off from public transpotation. A simple change in route along Expressay, No. 6 will facilitate transportation of students from Jerusalem to the university in Ariel, who now appear to make up a substantial percentage of morning passengers on the 148.

Service will then continue north from Ariel via the 73 and 74, which "conveniently" and "coincidentally" travel within that idiotic, so-called security fence. (I call it the Hillul HaShem Fence.)

I predict that the first victim, though, will be the still existing, Line 477 from Jerusalem to Elon Moreh, stopping in Itamar and at Tzometh Tapu'ah. It used to go to Ma'aleh Levonah, but not anymore. This will be the first step, to cut off Elon Moreh, Itamar, Yitzhar, Har Brachah, and then K'far Tapu'ah, preparing for the next round of expulsions, may God forbid.

Service to towns in Binyamin, such as Ofra and Beth-El will continue uninterrupted, until such time the government decides to pull the plug.

This is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations. The Eged bus company is subsidized by the government. Many of us pay only 50% percent of what the fare is reported to cost. Yet, do due to our "grand discount," our precious, bullet-proof transportation is at the mercy of the government.

Far be it from the YeSh"A (AKA: Pesha or Resha) Council to intervene and continue its bus serivce, which just stopped, even for a price. These collaborators without any mandate from the people, and who receive their budgets from the Office of the Prime Minister (How many of you actually knew that?) can not be expected to compete with their fellow government lackies over at Eged.

I say let's contract with a religious bus service (You may call them "Haredi;" I call them religious). But no doubt, the mamlachtim from Ofra and other towns would make a stink about that, in an attempt to cover up the collaboration with the government in the area of education, as well as transportation. But, that's the topic for another blog entry....

The question remains: When we say bye-bye Eged, will it be because we will have found alternative transportation? Or because Eged has left us in the dust.

Regarding Concessions For Peace

Setting aside for the moment that I believe strongly that there should not be any concessions on the part of Israel, and that Arabs and goyim in general (with a few possible exceptions...maybe) must vacant the Land of Israel,...

...I believe we have support for the notion that nothing is "safe," not with Ariel Sharon YSh"W in power, nor anyone else in the current limelight, for that matter.

Although Sharon YSh"W has denied that the "security fence" will eventually serve as a defacto border, it looks more and more that he is moving in that direction. Those people (including many Jews from English-speaking countries, as it happens) living the "block" of Jewish towns known as Gush Etzion (south of Jerusalem near Beth-Lehem like Efrat, Newe Daniel, Elazar, Bat-Ayin, Alon Shvuth, Kfar Etzion, etc.) have always belived that they are "safe" from being expelled from their homes, and that the fate of the Jews in Gaza will never be their fate. They have been told this often enough by the Israeli government. Recently, it was announced that Sharon's fence will not encompass all of Gush Etzion, but rather go through it. With only some exceptions, including the residents of Bat-Ayin, many of these Jews are what we consider to be "Mamlachtim," Jews concerned that shouldn't be any disagreement between the Torah and this [evil] government, thus often make compromises with Torah. Relief from their cognitive dissonance overpowers the absence of hallachic (Jewish legal) logic which their rabbis employ. These have become complacent. Their complacency will be their downfall (may God forbid), if they do not wake up, not only to reality, but to Torah, which for a Jew are one and the same.

Similar discrepencies in the fence's route exist in the Shomron (north from Beth-El through Shchem and Ganim). Sharon is now talking about strengthing the Golan and the Jordan Valley.

But, U. S. Secretary of State Rice YSh"W has already been talking about the Jordan Valley as one such "concession."

What if the Syrian regime turns around over night, like some are predicting Asad YSh"W will do out of fear, comparing his potential future overtures to the US like those of Qadafi YSh"W.

Will Israel then be force to make a "friendship" gesture to the "new" Syria?

And what are the major Jewish organizations outside of Israel doing? They are certainly not helping,...not helping Jews that is. With the possible exception of the Zionist Organization of America [ZOA], they are helping the Yishma'elim (Arabs), unintentionally for the most part.

Nothing is "safe," not our Land, our lives, nor our neshamoth (souls), not until we Jews take responsibility for ourselves and stop relying upon and worrying about the goyim.

Let us rely only upon the Almighty, and be guided only by his Torah, has handed down to us by our Hachamim (Sages), and not distorted by so-called "liberal" Jewish leaders who distort the Torah, and interpret it according to how they feel, and then mix and match misinterpreted Hallachic sources after the fact, in order to support the dissemination of their lies to the numbed-out, self-hating, Jewish masses, (may they turn to the Almighty and his Torah and be guided).
