עד כאן אני לא חשבתי שנתניהו רואה את מאי גולן כאיום. בעבר נראה שהוא הרגיש מאוים על ידי משה פייגלין, השגריר לשעבר דני דנון, השגריר גלעד ארדן או השגרירה ציפי חוטובלי. את שלושת השגרירים נתניהו שלח מהארץ, אם כי רק פתרון זמני. את משה פייגלין הוא הצליח לדחוף החוצה, לפני שהתחזק יותר מדי. פייגלין ניסה לעבוד לפי הכללים, מה שהקל על נתניהו להכשיל אותו.
כעת יש לנו התשובה, או לפחות חלק מהתשובה, למה נניהו בחר את מאי גולן להמנות קונסול בניו יורק.
נראה שנתניהו בחר אותה כדי לעבוד עליה עד שהיא נכשל. פשוט התפלאתי שהוא לא אפשר למינויה להתקדם יותר כדי להגדיל את כישלונה.
כמובן, איננו יכולים לומר את כל זה בוודאות. נתניהו גם יכול להיות סתם משווק לשמאל היהודי האמריקה. (כמה אחוז מהם באמת יהודים כיום? מי יודע?)

It had always seemed surprising that Netanyahu was as threatened by Golan as he has been in the past by Moshe Feiglin, former Ambassador Danny Danon, Ambassador Gilad Erdan, or Ambassador Tzippy Hotovely. The latter three Netanyahu sent away, albeit just a temporary solution. Moshe Feiglin he was able to push out, before he got too powerful. Feiglin tried to play by the rules, which made it easy for Netanyahu.
We now have our answer, or at least part of our answer, regarding Golan.
It was to set her up for failure. I was just surprised that Netanyahu did not allow her appointment to go further in order to heighten her failure.
Of course, we cannot say this for certain. Netanyahu could also just be pandering to the Jewish American Left. (What percentage of them are actually Jewish these day? Who knows?)

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen was in Sudan's capital Khartoum on Thursday to discuss the normalization of ties between the two countries, two Sudanese government sources said.
The trip was part of an exchange of visits between Sudan and Israel and involved discussions on reaching and signing a normalization deal as well as military and security issues, the sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Sudan agreed to take steps to normalize ties with Israel in a 2020 deal brokered by former U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, alongside normalization agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco as part of the "Abraham Accords".
In January 2021, Sudan said that its justice minister at the time, Nasredeen Abdulbari, had signed on to the Abraham Accords during a visit by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
Cohen's office said he would in the evening convene a news conference "upon his return from a historic state visit". It did not elaborate. (cont.)

In the 1970's the Chicago community which called itself the "Black Hebrews," and which used to beat up Jewish senior citizens there moved to Liberia in West Africa. The Liberian Government kicked them out, and they came to Israel, settling in Dimona in the South. Israel wanted to throw them out, as well, but before it had the chance to do so, the "Black [non-]Hebrews threatened mass suicide. The possibility of this scared the Israeli government greatly. What would the nations of the world say about us, if such a thing were to happen?
They fast on Shabboth, and celebrate Pesah (Passover) not in the month of Nissan, as is written in the Torah, but rather in the month of Iyyar. They permit their men to marry more than one wife, up to seven. Meanwhile, the Israeli government forbids Yemenite Jews to do the same, even though it is their community's custom. Anyone from the Black [non-] Hebrew communities in the U. S. who wants to come and live in Israel, can. And what does the Israeli government do about this? That is a very good question.
At the very least, the Black [non-] Hebrews are koferim (deniers) of the Oral Torah, and probably much worse than that, as they claim that they are the real inheritors of Israel, and that we Jews are the fakes.
While this community enjoys its independence, obstacles are set in front of Jews, including true converts, like the B'nei Menashe who want to immigrate to Israel from all over the world, including from the U. In my opinion, this was done in order to prevent a massive amount of Jews, most of whom are religious, would settle in Yehudah and Shomron (Judea and Samaria), and when it was still an option, Azza (Gaza), and who would vote for right-wing parties.
You already know about the infiltrators in South Tel-Aviv: Stealing, beating, raping and even defecating in the middle of the pedestrian walkway. And now what do we have? Each person who identifies himself as a Jew, even though he is not, can be found living in Israel and possibly threatening Jewish women. And it does not appear that the police are given the power to deal with this.
While some 1,200 African asylum seekers are due to be released from Holot this week, courts approved Sunday a plan drafted by Public Security Minister Silvan Shalom denying them entrance to Tel Aviv or Eilat.
Holot, an "open" detention facility where asylum seekers are held without trial, is due to be emptied according to a Supreme Court decision that limits the amount of time an individual can be detained.
The ruling angered residents of southern Tel Aviv where locals have felt the brunt of Israel's African immigration crisis with tens of thousands of illegal residents remaining in the area.
Eilat has also been a central destination for those arriving from across the Egyptian border with 10 percent of its population currently made up of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.
In accordance with Shalom's plan to implement the ruling, 600 of Holot's detainees are due to be released on Tuesday and another 600 will follow on Wednesday.
The restriction on movement will be enforced by distribution of special visas to the released asylum seekers. Those caught by authorities in Tel Aviv or Eilat will be removed to Saharonim Penitentiary. It was unclear Sunday how long the asylum seekers could legally be held under these circumstances.

Oh, don't worry, the Israeli Supreme Court is bound to overrule this "racist" and "discriminatory" policy!
No, not the restriction on living in Tel-Aviv and Eilat, but the re-detention of those caught sneaking in anyway, against the government's decision.
Plus, while Torah-observant, young Jewish men, are sitting in jail without being charged, African insugents will most certainly be allowed to roam around Israel freely, including the "undesirable" areas of Tel-Aviv, such as South Tel-Aviv and the areas adjacent to the Old Bus Station. They will just blend in with the other insurgents already there, raping and pillaging.
So, if you live in the northern quarters of Tel-Aviv, you will not have to worry about them invading your neighborhood. The Israeli Government has got your backs!
Isn't this exciting?! Those of us in Jerusalem, Hertzliyah, and Netanyah have some adventures in store for us! New neighbors on the way!

What I glean from these, strung together pieces of an incomplete, but complex Twitter conversation is that...
Mira Bar Hillel, an Israel born write living in England, made a few faux pas.
One such faux pas was the grouping together of Ethiopian Jews and African insurgents, whom she calls "refugees."
I wonder if she would not mind living in the same neighborhood with such "refugees," with their thievery, sexual harassment, and other assorted criminal behavior, forcing the residents of South Tel-Aviv to be on constant guard. Just ask May Golan, South Tel-Aviv resident and activist.
One of these refugees even slugged a sitting Member of K'neseth [MK].
To suggest that these insurgents, running to a Jewish country, because they know that Muslim countries will not give them any handouts, have the same right to reside is Eretz Yisra'el (Land of Israel) as Jews, regardless of origin, is at the least is "border-erasing" globalist imperialism, and at wost a sure path of destruction of the Jewish People.
Furthermore, lumping together extremely diverse groups of people, speakers of hundreds of languages, members of various religions, are all the same, due to their somewhat similar skin pigmentation isn't prejudice?
It is as if she had suggested that ethnic Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, and Mung, are all the same. I do not believe that anyone would disagree that this is racist.

In his rebuttal, NIF's Avi Dabush dismisses the accusations that the organization is trying to undermine the Jewish nature of the state, citing its broad range of activities and its wealth of Jewish support:

Well, YNET. You asked, so I'm gonna tell you...
In my not so humble opinion, both arguments presented do the same thing. The argument against the New Israel Fund [NIF] successfully exposes its shenanigans, but so does the supposedly "supportive" argument.
1. The NIF funds "Arabs."
2. "The
aid is given in a variety of issues: Environment, employment, the
battle against racism, human rights, housing and planning, health,
gender equality, shared society and more."
3. "Yes, just like the Jewish Agency or KKL (Jewish National Fund), the federations which donate to every city and council we live in, as well as the Joint."
"Against racism," "human rights,""gender equality," and "shared society" are all code phrases for anti-Torah. Of course, the Torah supports all of the above, within a Torah (ie. authentically Jewish) framework.
Leftist Jews are so assimilated into Western culture, they are deeply confused about basic concepts such as right and wrong.
"Just like the..." does not do it for me either, and makes the argument even stronger that the NIF is, in fact, attempting to transform Israel, according to its own un-Jewish vision, much like the non-Jewish Agency, non-Jewish National Fund, and the Federations.

Surely, it is technically both. But the focus is clearly on the building of a New Israel,...a Western assimilated one.
If the NIF wants to help African infiltrators, it should rename itself the NAF: New Africa Fund, and open up a branch in Africa. This way those same initials can also be used for its original, true name: New Arab Fund.

Israel's African asylum seeker community will hold its first labor strike ever Sunday, in protest of the government's policy.
Refugees from Sudan and Eritrea will hold a nationwide general strike Sunday. The total number of refugee seekers in Israel stands at 53,000 and many are employed illegally in a wide array of low paying manual jobs – from dishwashing to construction.

Thousands of asylum seekers held a demonstration in south Tel Aviv's Levinsky Park Saturday night and called for the strike, and starting from Sunday, the asylum seekers will not go to work. The strike will probably continue throughout the week.
On Sunday morning a protest will be held in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv and on Monday, community activists intend to contact the United Nation High Commission for Refugees and foreign embassies in Israel, asking them to demand the Israeli government take responsibility over the asylum seekers.
"It is possible that the strike will go on longer (than a day). The point is to show the public what an injustice the Israeli government has been causing us recently," Davit Damuz, a refugee seeker said.
"Since the new (Infiltration Prevention Act) people are desperate and scared. The Interior Ministry refuses to renew visas and people are jailed for long periods because they don't have visas. Others are ordered to arrive at the Holot facility which is a jail for all purpose."
Last September the High Court ruled that the Infiltration Prevention Act – which allows the government to jail asylum seekers suspected of a crime for up to three years without trial – was unconstitutional.
In response, the government amended the bill, lowering the jail time to up to a year and paving the way for the Holot facility – an 'open' detention facility located in the Negev where refugees must check in at least twice a day. (cont.)

Territories" on its site, even in an author's bio.? The only occupation is that of the Arabs laying
claim to the heartland of Israel.
2. Debra, I used to teach at a mixed
Jewish and Arab school in Yaffo. The tolerance is only one-way. The
Jewish AND Arab teachers bent over backwards trying to effect unity. But, they were just repeating the same mistakes over again expecting
different results,...just like the Israeli Government, on the left AND the so-called right.
When the '91 Gulf war broke out, efforts in Yaffo to
make Jewish-Arab children's activities and clubs failed, because the
Arab kids kept cheering, every time a scud hit Israel. These are only a couple of many examples.
I am not sure how much you realize just how offensive Arabs find it, when Yaffo is referred to as "part of Tel-Aviv." My guess is that you are completely oblivious to this.
3. Concerning "South Tel-Aviv," how fair and balanced could this report possibly be without a single mention of the problems, caused by the infiltrators, above and beyond the illegal aliens, above and beyond the "refugees."
This is not journalism, this is not even commentary. Normally, I would say that it is whitewashing.
But, with the naive application of the word "tolerance," and the complete absence of any mention of the theft, the added filth, the sexual harassment, and the aggression perpetrated by the African infiltrators (...who are apparently considered --not necessarily by Debra--"politically-correct," or rather too "politically-sensitive" simply by virtue of their skin color, which, where I come from, is called racism.), I will have to suggest the possibility of propaganda here.
