"On his last day in office, the outgoing Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, recorded a video in which he strongly criticized the ignoring of the victims of the massacre." (YNET) What about Munich Olympics, 1972? The video is in Hebrew with English subtitles.

In the second video, which is in Hebrew, Amb. Erdan affixes a mezuzah to the new offices of the incoming Israeli ambassador to the United Nations. The mezuzah case is in the shape of the entire land of Israel, Judea, Samaria, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. It was donated by the Judea and Samaria Council. As usual, Southern Lebanon, which comprises the norther sections of the territories of the Tribes of Asher and Naphtali have been excluded.

Amb. Gilad Erdan: "Tomorrow is the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Terrorism. And very soon it will be one year since October 7, the worst terrorist attack since the Holocaust. Despite this, the despicable UN did not see fit to present even one (!) Israeli victim of terrorism in the exhibition it is presenting for this Day of Remembrance. There are no words left to describe how rotten and morally perverted the UN is. Just a disgrace ‼️"

Even though October 7 was the most deadly terror attack of 2023 and the most deadly massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, the UN leaves out Israeli terror victims in its commemoration events

To mark the seventh commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, a virtual high-level event titled "Voices for Peace: Victims of Terrorism as Peace Advocates and Educators" took place on August 21. The exhibition includes victims of the Twin Towers attack in 2001 and even terrorism in Indonesia but not a single representation of the October 7 massacre terror victims or any other Israeli terror victim...

Israel's new ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, said: "The UN's ignoring of Israeli terror victims, and during the year of such a brutal and shocking massacre, is a disgrace and marks a new moral low for the UN. The October 7 massacre is the largest terrorist attack in the last year and the most brutal massacre against Jews since the Holocaust, in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered and 109 are still being held hostage in Gaza."

"The UN was able to find the mother of a 'Palestinian terror victim' who was killed in New Zealand but was unable to find a single terror victim from the most brutal massacre that happened this year, or any Israeli terror victim from the thousands of terror incidents carried out against us. The Israeli delegation to the UN will make sure that no one in this building forgets October 7 and our hostages," Danon added. "As long as the UN doesn't declare Hamas a terrorist organization, this day remains utterly meaningless."

The question is not "Why did the UN leave out Israeli victims of terror?" Rather, the question is, "Why are you all surprised?"

Israel is supposed to be a people, separate and distinct. We have not been very successful at this.

So, perhaps now, we are being forced back into the position where we are supposed to be.

במהלך הפגנות נגד גירוש יהודים מעזה של רה״מ אריאל שרון, מייסדת נשים בירוק נדיה מטר נעצרה על כך שכינתה את אחד ממנהלי הגירוש יונתן באשי כקאפו.

קאפו (בלעז: Kapo) הוא אסיר בתקופת השלטון הנאצי שהיה ממונה מטעם הנאצים לפקח על אסירים אחרים במחנה ריכוז. (ויקיפדיה) כלומר שותף פעולה נגד יהודים אחרים.

בסופו של דבר האישומים נגד מטר בוטלו. השופט אמר שה האישומים מגוחכים או משהו כזה.

שנים לאחר מכן, לא ברור אם קאפו או יודנראט (בגרמנית: מועצה יהודית) נכללים ברשימת השמות האסורים של חוק זה. למרות זאת, נראה שיש חופש ביטוי גדול יותר באו"ם מבישראל.

I commend Ambassador Gilad Erdan for his statements. And in spite of the opposition expressed by Foreign Ministry officials and Yad vaShem, I also commend him for his actions. However, I would like to point out one small fact about the Yellow Star of David.

Parallel to the prohibitions on calling people "Nazi," the new law prohibits the wearing of striped clothing similar to the clothing worn by concentration camp prisoners, and a yellow patch in the shape of a Star of David, and the drawing of swastikas or symbols associated with Nazism. (Translated from the Haaretz quote above, June 12, 2014)

During protests against then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's impending Expulsion of Jews from Gaza, Women In Green founder Nadia Matar was arrested for calling one of the expulsion administrators Yonatan Bassi a kapo.

A kapo was a prisoner in a Nazi camp who was assigned by the SS guards to supervise forced labor or carry out administrative tasks. (Wikipedia). In other words, a Jewish collaborator against fellow Jews.

Charges against Matar were eventually dismissed, the judge calling them ridiculous.

Years later, it is not clear if kapo or Judenrat (German: Jewish council) is included in the list of prohibited names of this law. Nevertheless, it does appear that there is greater freedom of speech in the UN than there is in Israel.

No one. I repeat, no one should be surprised.

לטובת היהודים האלה, מזכ"ל האו"ם אנטוניו גוטרש הזכיר לנו עכשיו על הדעה והכוונה האמיתית של האו״ם.

בכל כ״ט נובמבר יש יהודים שעדיין משבחים את האו״ם בציון החלטתו על תוכנית החלוקה ועל הקמת מדינת ישראל בחלק של ארץ ישראל. זאת אומרת הקמת מדינת ישראל רק בחלק של ארץ ישראל. בתכנית זו אפילו ירושלים ,עיר הבירה של עם ישראל לנצח, אמורה להשאר כשטח בינלאומי.

עם כל הכבוד לשר החוץ אלי כהן, מזכ״ל האו״ם יודע הטיב באיזה עולם הוא חי. הוא פשוט מזכיר לנו את האמת:

״רבי שמעון בן יוחיי אומר והלא הלכה בידועה עשיו שונא לישראל...״ (סִפְרֵי במדבר סט, עמ׳ קסז).

מזכ״ל האו״ם ורה״מ פורטוגל לשעבר אנטוניו גוטרש הוא אחד מהיגי אדום, הגלות הרביעית ואי״ה האחרונה של עם ישראל: אדום הוא רומא, בשלטון עשיו אח תאום של יעקב אבינו, ויש אומרים כל עולם המערב.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, speaking to the UN Security Council, tells the international body that the Hamas attack on October 7 "did not happen in a vacuum," because Palestinians have been subjected to 56 years of "suffocating occupation." He also said that he is "deeply concerned about clear violations of international humanitarian law that we are witnessing in Gaza." (Ynetnews)

Unfortunately, there are still Jews in the world who need to be reminded of the true nature of the United Nations [UN].

Fortunately, UN Secretary General António Guterres just did that for me.

Still praised by Jews every November 29, commemorating the UN's 1947 vote to partition Israel, and to graciously grant the Jews a piece of their own homeland. That piece did not even include the eternal capital of the Jewish People, Jerusalem.

Oh sure, Prime Minister Netanyahu cites the Torah once in a while, when convenient, and when it fits into his agenda.

But when will a Jewish leader, with any power, finally stand up and proudly use the word "conquer?"

Incidentally, the Hebrew word for "conquer" is the same as the Hebrew word for "occupation."

What about the word "possess?" What about "inherit?" Are these words off limits as well?

"And you shall drive out the inhabitants of the land, and dwell there; for to you I have given the land to possess it." (Num. 33:53)

"To you" and not to Ishmael - Arabs and Muslims in general.

"To you" and not to Esau - the West, the USA, Europe, including both Christians AND progressives.

Arabs to "Stop the Occupation!" Rarely any Jew responds more than half-heartedly. And any Jew who does can end up in jail on suspicion of inciting racism.

In the video embedded above, UN Secretary General Antønio Guterres speaks, and Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen responds, "...in what world do you live? Definitely not in our world," then calls for him to resign.

with all due respect to Foreign Minister Cohen the Secretary General of the UN knows very well in which world he lives in. He is simply reminding us of the truth:

"Rabbi Shimon ben Yohai says, and is it not known Torah law that Esau hates Israel..." (Sifrei Bamidbar 69, p. 167)

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, a former Prime Minister of Portugal, is one of the leaders of Edom. Edom is the fourth, and may it be His Will the last exile of the Jewish People: Rome, ruled by Jacob's brother Esau, and some say the entire Western world.

Homefront Security Ministry Minister Gilad Erdan on Thursday struck back against Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, who on Wednesday implied that Erdan was “dead weight” on the government. Speaking Wednesday, Ya'alon said that the Homefront Ministry was “a waste of public money,” and that any responsibility for the safety of Israelis, whether on the battlefield or the home front, was his.

"Regarding the argument about home front defense and the Home Front Command, I'm not avoiding responsibility," Ya’alon said on Wednesday. "The responsibility is mine. Across the board. We can’t split the issue and establish a Ministry to give orders to the Home Front Command, and the Chief of Staff will give orders to the Home Front Command, and I will give them orders. I’ve never heard of such a thing.”

Instead of having a separate ministry for issues related to home front defense, argued Ya’alon, the responsibilities should be given to a deputy minister within the Ministry of Defense, as has been the case in the past.

"Once you start to split the responsibilities because of political considerations, and certainly if you start to build a Ministry with a CEO, with an independent legal capacity, an independent budget etc, it is a waste of public money,” he said.

It was the most public display of what has apparently been an ongoing spat between the two, and Erdan did not take the criticism well. Speaking Thursday, Erdan said that if his office was irrelevant, it was Ya'alon himself who was making it so.

“The Defense Minister is preventing the transfer of several homefront responsibilities to my office,” Erdan said. “He won't let me do my job, and then he complains that I can't do the job and that my ministry should be closed down.”

Erdan said that the Defense Ministry has not yet released several million shekels for manpower and equipment needed for the ministry – a relative pittance compared to the NIS 60 billion ($17 billion) that the Defense Ministry swallows up annually.

“If anyone wants to examine public waste, I suggest we start with the biggest budget sectors,” a Homefront Command Ministry official was quoted as saying Wednesday. Erdan said that if the money was not forthcoming, “I will indeed leave this post.”

Well, I must admit that Defense Minister Moshe "Bogie" Ya'alon makes some good points.

On the other hand, so does Homefront Defense Minister Gil'ad Erdan.

It is not so clear exactly who acting, based on political considerations, quite possibly both of them.

However, what caught my was that although Ya'alon made it to position #8 on the Likud Party list, in the last set of primaries (2013), Erdan reached position #4. After combining the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu lists Ya'alon was lowered #12, and Erdan to #5. Either way you slice it, Erdan appears to have had more of a

So, why is Ya'alon going after Erdan? Does he really believe in what he is saying about the waste and the politics involved

Making it to #3 is pretty a guaranteed ministerial portfolio. Was the Homefront Ministry created to keep an apparently too popular Erdan off on the sidelines? Or was the creation of this ministry really thought to be a good idea, and good investment in Israel's security? Or perhaps both, as it would keep Ya'alon and Erdan from fighting, if they were placed in the same Defense Ministry, in the tradition model Ya'alon mentions above.

In any case, it seems that one, if not both, of these Likud Ministers is vying for power.
