The U. S. Is Plagued By Tunnels - Middah k'Neged Middah

Erev Hanukkah 5771
America's Third War: Uncovering Border Tunnels
William Lajeunesse, FoxNews.com, November 24, 2010

Scores of trucks pass through Otay Mesa (San Diego Co.), California, each day, loading and dropping off cargo at various warehouses located just yards from the U.S.-Mexico border.

One warehouse bearing the name "Medi Int Enterprises" -- an alleged storage facility for toilet paper -- seemed to be running business as usual, equipped with a front desk and receptionist. Yet, on Nov. 3, 2010, Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents found they were storing much more than bathroom supplies.

ICE agents intercepted a truck leaving the warehouse and discovered 20,000 pounds of marijuana. An additional 32,000 pounds were found in 10-kilo bricks throughout the warehouse, making it the second largest seizure of marijuana in U.S. history. But, the biggest find was what lurked below.

Agents found 1,800 feet of tunnel running underneath the warehouse to Mexico. Designed with tracks and pulleys, the smuggling tunnel is the most recent to be discovered in a growing number popping up along border states. (Read more...)

Israel has been plagued by tunnels, used for smuggling weapons into Azza (Gaza) from Egypt. Yet, Israel is under pressure from the U. S. and others as to how to deal with the tunnels, and how not to. In other words, due to pressure from the U. S., Israel is forced into doing a half-hearted job of dealing with these tunnels. Thus, the weapons continue to pour through unabated.

True, it is Israel's fault for submitting to the will of the "almighty" U. S. Nonetheless, the U. S. seems to be getting punished "middah k'neged middah" (measure for measure).

The Kiss Of Esau (הנשיקה של עשו)

Erev Shabbath Qodesh Parashath Wayeishev 5771

Last week, Jews read Parashath Wayishlah. One pasuq in particular caught my attention. Coming back into Eretz Yisra'el with his family, Ya'aqov is warned that his brother Esau approaches, and so he prepares to meet him through prayer, military strategy, and gifts. When Ya'aqov and Esau meet, this is what happens...

Genesis 33:4 4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell upon his neck, and kissed him; and they wept.

Rash"i comments that

And he kissed him..., is dotted above it [in a Torah scroll], there is disagreement on this point in a baraita of Sifri, there are those who view the dots saying that he [Esau] did not kiss him with all of his heart. R' Shimon Bar Yohai says the halacha is well known that Esau hates Ya'aqov, but he took pity upon him at that moment, and he did kiss him with all of his heart.

After citing the same midrash regarding the presence of dots above the word (וישקהו), Bereishith Rabba (75:9) continues with an alternative view...

R' Yannai says, “If so, why is is it dotted above? Rather it teaches that he [Esau] did not come to kiss him, but rather to bite him, and the neck of Ya'aqov Avinu was made into marble and the teeth of the evil one dulled. And what it said regarding ‘and they cried?’ Rather this one cried because of his neck, and this one cried because of his teeth. R' Abahu in the name of R' Yohanan, “Say to him from this, ‘Your neck is like a tower of ivory…’” (Song of Songs 7:5)

More recently, the S'fas Emes, the Gerer Rebbe of the late 19th Century, stated that...

כשעשו מנשק, יעקב ננשך!

When Esau kisses, Ya'aqov is bitten!

So, who is Esau, that we must still be on guard from his bite, as well as his kiss?

The answer can also be found in Bereishith Rabba. Here HaZa”L identifies Esau with “The Evil Empire,” their code phrase, if you will, for Rome.

Rome was transformed into the Holy Roman Empire, which eventually fell under control of the Roman Catholic Church, having great influence, if not total control, over the countries comprising the European continent. Christianity underwent various transformations but the forbidden belief in a false messiah-deity is the same, no matter how many different changes Christians claim have taken in place their approach.

Another midrash teaches that Rome continues to be a threat to the Jewish People. In Parashath Shemini, we receive extensive instruction regarding the kashruth status of animals. Four mammals are mentioned specifically as not being kasher. The camel, the rock badger, and the rabbit chew their cud, yet they are not kosher, as they do not possess split hooves. The last in the list, the pig does have a split hoof, yet does not chew its cud (Lev. 11:1-8).

According to the midrash, these four animals represent the four Kingdoms which have ruled over Am Yisra’el. The pig represents our current and final exile, albeit our longest, that of Rome. The first three animals are not kasher due to problems with their limbs; whereas the pig is not kosher, due to its mouth. It sticks its split hooves out there, proclaiming that it is kosher. It even makes a chewing motion with its mouth, yet does not actually chew its cud. In other words, it lies.

“We love you!”

“We love Israel!”

“We want to give you money, and build you cultural centers!”

“We want to visit you, and volunteer to help you build up the land!”

The Ramba”m (Maimonides), a prominent halachic authority of the 1100's CE, suggests that we must not do anything which will allow ovdei avodah zarah (practicioners of forbidden worship) to get a hold on the land, nor anything which will make it easy for them to stay here. (Mishneh Torah, Hil. Avodah Zarah 10:1-9)

And very clearly, the Ramba”m states...

הנוצריים עובדי עבודה זרה הן (הל' עבודה זרה ט,ד)

The Christians are ovdei avodah zarah.... (ibid. 9:4)

In censored versions of the Mishneh Torah, Christians cleverly substituted the word “Romans” for “Christians,” in an attempt to cover up their identity with Rome (Edom/Esau), the very kingdom which currently rules over the Jewish People in exile, both physically and spiritually.

So why are those, who are forbidden to be settled in the Land (ibid. 10:1-9), being settled in the Land? Why is the town of Ariel in Samaria home to Christian missionaries and churches? Why are Likud Members of K'nesseth attending dedications for Christian (ie. avodah zarah) television stations,...in Israel?

Why are those who have performed the misswah of destroying avodah zarah been condemned by officials of the Israeli government,...in the name of “freedom of religious practice?” And, just where exactly in the Torah is any thing stated, which is even remotely related to “freedom of religious practice?”

The Torah also states...

...ולא-תקח שוחד--כי השוחד יעור את עיני חכמים, ויסלף את דברי צדיקים - דברים ט"ז,י"ט

…and do not take a bribe, for the bribe blinds the eyes of the wise, and distorts the words of the righteous. (Deut. 16:19)

This refers to Hakhamim, thus even more so for those of us who are not Hakhamim.

So, why are “cultural centers” and playgrounds being built by Christians or with Christian money? Why are “religious, right-wing” radio stations accepting significant amounts of money from Christians? Why are their broadcasters visiting “messianic” congregations in North America?

Do “religious” Jews really think that they can take Christian money, and not be influenced in some way? Are “religious” Jews really fooled by the hazir's smiles, by the hazir's” lies?

It appears so.

Still have doubts? Tomer Devorah has pointed out something very interesting, not proof perhaps, but very interesting nonetheless. If you change the letters in Esau's name around, you get none other than Hebrew name Christian missionaries’use for their false god.

עשיו = ישוע

Yeshu'a is essentially the same name as Yehoshu'a, Joshua in English or Jason from the Greek. Whether a real, compilation, or totally imaginary figure, some of our Sages z”l referred to him as YeSh”U, an acronym for yimach shemo wezikhro, “may his name and memory be blotted out.”

Some Qabbalistic sources claim that YeSh”U was the reincarnation of Esau.

In order to deal with Esau today, and defend against his bite-kiss, we must apply the same strategies as those of Ya'aqov, our forefather.

Prayer: We must pray to HaShem, separated from Esau, NOT with Esau.

Military Strategies: We must plan to defenses from Esau, NOT with Esau.

Gifts: We may give gifts to Esau, things than are helpful to him, and to the rest of humanity, like solar, agricultural, and computer technology, NOT accept gifts from Esau.

The Bostoner Rebbe ztz"l

17 of the Ninth Month 5771

י"ט כסלו

19 Kislev is considered to be an important date on the calender for Hassidim. It is the yartzeit of the Magid of Mezerich, as well as the anniversary of the release of Rabbi Shniur Zalman of Liadi (Ba'al HaTanya) from prison. This date is referred to by many as the birth date of Hassidus.

19 Kislev also has significance to Religious Zionists, as it is the yartzeit of Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Neriah, Member of K'nesseth (National Religious Party) and the founder of the B'nei Aqiva yeshivot and ulpanot. Until then most all religious education was controlled by Haredim.”

But, I would like to call your attention to the day before, the 18 Kislev. For I believe that this day should also be a significant date of commemoration for Hassidim and Religious Zionists.

י"ח כסלו

18 Kislev marks the first yartzeit of the Bostoner Rebbe, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz. He died last year at the age of 88.

The Bostoner Rebbe is well-known for attracting many college students from Harvard and MIT, and bringing them back to Torah. He is also well-known for his Rofeh International organization...

Mission Description: The organization is dedicated to provide Medical Referral and Support Services to the needy. The organization assists the sick and their families with referrals, Hospitality & Kosher meals during their stay in Boston.

Typically, a patient would call the center for assistance in finding an expert physician in the problem area. Often, patients send in advance copies of their medical records. Those records are forwarded to specialty doctors in the Boston area. When the patient arrives Boston, a furnished apartment is awaiting for him to be used during the visit by his family. Kosher meals are provided for the first few days of stay as well as Shabbos arrangements.

What struck me about the Bostoner Rebbe was an incident which occurred over five years ago.

The Bostoner Rebbe was a member of the Council of Torah Sages, along with several other Rebbes and Hachamim. What set him apart, though, was his integrity. When the Council of Torah Sages was discussing the impending expulsion of Jews from Azza (Gush Qatif, N. Gaza Strip) and the Nothern Shomron, the Bostoner Rebbe was concerned with determining what the halacha was on the matter, not with how much money he would receive from the Sharon government, albeit for religious educational institutions.

The Bostoner Rebbe demonstrated to the Council of Torah Sages that it was forbidden to relinquish these lands to goyim. He was in the minority, of course. Yet that did not make any difference to him.

The Bostoner Rebbe's actions also contributed more toward Ahduth Yisra'el (Jewish Unity) than those of any rav, since Rav Kook ztz"l,...aside from Rav Kahane hy"d, by taking the opportunity to reach out to Religious Jews of a different flavor than his, not for any ulterior motive, but simply because it was the right thing to do.

Such a man, who puts Torah Law first, ahead of money, and reputation deserves the admiration of all, especially when such men have become increasingly difficult to find.

The actions of the Bostoner Rebbe also put many of the so-called Religious Zionist “rabbis” to shame, by showing more love and concern for Eretz Yisra'el than they, as well as demonstrating the nondetachable interconnection between the Torah and Eretz Yisra'el.

May the memory of this Tzadiq be for a blessing.

Here are two videos of the late Bostoner Rebbe, the first an interview with Israel National News TV, and the second of his visit to Azza before the expulsion.

Guest Post: Moderate Rabbis Become Most Extreme

10 of the Ninth Month 5771

Moderate Rabbis Become Most Extreme

Yekuti'el Ben Ya'akov

No, moderate Rabbi, expulsion of Jews is not stopped with love and hugs.

The prevalent doctrine by leading Rabbinic figures within the nationalist-religious camp such as Rabbi Shlomo Aviner and Rabbi Motti Alon maintains that peaceful means is the most effective way to combat the government freezing of Jewish construction, expulsion of Jews and the surrender of Jewish land. “With love we will win”, was the losing war-cry slogan used by the religious nationalist “marketing geniuses” during the days preceding the expulsion of the Jews from Gaza and Northern Shomron. Video testimony circulating on youtube and supported by Rabbi Aviner’s own articles show how Aviner has taken his peace-loving ideology to such an extreme that it is no wonder why he and his disciples often employed excessive and brutal measures to restrain “radicals” from using any kind of physical force to resist the “disengagement” expulsion forces, when the troops came to rip the Jewish families out of their homes in Gush Katif.

In Kfar Maimon, the place referred to as the last-stand in the failed protest-struggle against the Gaza- expulsion, a half decade ago, when thousands of Zionist “reinforcements” set on a journey to create a human convoy to break through to Gaza and join the soon- to-be-expellees, Rabbi Aviner and Rabbi Motti Alon effectively neutralized any effort by the crowd to break through police-lines. Love and peace was the primary message uttered on the lips of the charismatic and popular rabbis and “settler” leaders. Anyone who dared to try and organize others to break through the self-imposed ghetto fences, was immediately attacked by Aviner peace- thugs who comprised an organized squad of goons and “ushers” instructed to isolate any “troublemakers”, and to use all necessary force to prevent them from breaking through police barricades, while chanting “provocateur” at the perplexed protester.

Aviner often delegitimizes those who support stronger resistance by cleverly reversing the table, and by calling the more extreme protestors: “agent provocateurs” - who are trying to make us all look bad, thereby aiding the government. No, this is not a joke or “The Theater of the absurd.” This is the upside down “settlement” leadership we are “blessed” with. History tends to repeat itself, and more often than not, we Jews are our own worst enemies, and it is Jewish leaders who march their own constituents into the ghettos. Our enemies would never be able to win any battle against us, if not for the collaborators and the leaders who indeed lead us to inaction and defeat like sheep to the slaughter.

I have heard many times from eyewitness accounts of the Kfar Maimon fiasco: Ironically, it was the rabbis and “settler” leaders who presented the only real obstacle before the tens of thousands of protesters from reaching and aiding their brothers and sisters in Gush Katif. According to these accounts, the last opportunity to prevent the “disengagement” was diffused by none others than the very Rabbis who created, with their own hands, an organized fenced-in protest-ghetto, and who squashed any final possibility for the defiant protesters to create the type of angry resistance that was needed to reverse the evil expulsion decree.

The Aviner-Alon-love-thugs-crew, you guessed right, blame the historic anti-expulsion struggle failure on: not enough love and kindness on the part of the anti-expulsion activists, and point an accusing finger at those who preached physical resistance to thwart the “disengagement” expulsion. The Aviners and Alons insist that if the “settlers” are depicted as violent people who threaten to use force, then they will lose the support of the average Israeli and allow themselves to be marginalized and delegitimized in the eyes of the Israeli masses. They argue: This will only play into the government’s hands and make it easier to implement the dismantling of the “settlements”.

This critical debate is now becoming very relevant as the freeze of Jewish construction and the future surrender of most of the lands liberated in 1967, Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem are on the negotiating chopping table. What do military strategists and political analysts have to say about this debate? What is the more effective approach to take when it comes to combating government plans of freezing or surrendering Jewish land in Judea and Samaria? Should we embrace the soldiers and cops sent to expel and freeze us with hugs, coffee, love and kisses or should we stand at the entrance to our homes with baseball bats, showing that we will use the type of reasonable force that most human beings on planet earth would exhibit, if someone came to drive them out of their home?

IDF General Eitan Dengat, had some eye-opening revelations on the subject. However, first allow me to explain who General Dengat is and why his opinion is one that should be taken seriously. Dengat is the man responsible for the implementation and integration of government decisions in Judea and Samaria. His title is: “Coordinator of Government Activities In The territories”. In an address that Dengat gave before military officers from foreign armies he had this to say, according to YNET (Nov. 8, 10), the acceptance by the settlers of the construction freeze is a sign for the future,” in reference to the honoring by the “settlers” to all Jewish construction, earlier this year. Dengat continued, “most likely if a (peace) agreement is reached (that involves surrender of Jewish land and expulsion of Jews) the settlers will display understanding.” He added, that the recent freeze was a success in as much as execution of the law without disruption.

Here we have it. Moderate Rabbis and court Rabbis need to understand, if you have not yet understood, hugging and kissing the forces sent to expel you and to destroy Jewish life in “the territories” is not an effective means to stop the tractors and forces of destruction from carrying out their task. Rather, it is interpreted as support and a “future sign” of that which will follow.

It is not my intention, Heaven forbid, to incite people to violate the law or to use violence against anyone. I am not that brave to openly preach the breaking of the law. (I am not certain that using reasonable force to protect ones property is a violation of Israeli law). However, there is nothing more disturbing than intellectual dishonesty and rabbinic fraud and distortion of Torah. Let all of those who support the next expulsion, hug the soldiers and greet them with cake and kisses. Let all of those who refuse to risk arrest or injury do the same. However, let us not lie to ourselves or to our constituents about a winning struggle, when we refuse to struggle. Our Sages teach us that Israel is acquired through self-sacrifice, not through love and kissing. If we lack what it takes to engage in real and meaningful protests and if we lack what it takes to engage in the type of self-sacrifice that is needed to stop the madness, let us at least have the decency not to pretend that we are doing something and let us not prevent victory from others who have the courage of our convictions.

Furthermore, who is to say that the soldiers would carry out the illegal and immoral orders to expel Jewish families from their homes if they would truly understand the severity of such anti-Jewish orders? The Aviners and Alons who preach love and kindness, do so, as they claim, because they love the IDF and the government with boundless love, even when they admit that the government commits a historic sin that will bring about countless bloodshed of Jews in the future, and as the government commits treason against the Torah, the nation and the land of Israel.

I contend that the Aviners and the Alons do not truly love or respect the IDF as much as they think they do. If they did, then they would give the IDF the benefit of the doubt. Only someone who holds the IDF in complete contempt could believe that the average Jewish soldier, who joined the IDF to fight the enemy, would open fire or use excessive force against their brothers and sisters. If thousands of Jews stood in front of their homes holding baseball bats, willing and ready to use reasonable force to defend their homes and to prevent their expulsion and the surrender of Jewish land to our enemies, the soldiers would never carry out the orders and would never use the necessary force to expel the Jews. How is the soldier to understand the full gravity and seriousness of the treasonous orders he was given to expel the Jews, when those awaiting deportation greet the soldiers with hugs and kisses? If anything, it is the peace- preaching Aviners of the world who push some Jews to more extreme measures, out of desperation, because the Rabbis and leaders of the struggle refuse to lead any form of reasonable resistance and because the struggle or lack of it, lacks clarity.

I believe that if the Aviners and Alons truly loved the IDF then they would stand and fight against the expulsions with the type of protests and self-sacrifice that could not be confused with quiet acceptance of the illegal and evil decrees that the soldiers have been sent to carry out. I believe that the average IDF soldier would show the type of heroism and courage on behalf of Israel that he shows when going into the battle against the real enemy. The soldiers need to understand that the orders they have been given represent absolute treason against Israel and the Jewish people. They will not get that message by peace-preaching rabbis who run to greet them with candy, coffee and kisses when they come to uproot them from their homes!

The Aviners and Alons are no different than the majority of the “meraglim” (spies sent by Moses to tour the land and who came back and warned the nation against taking on the “giants” for we are mere “grasshoppers in our eyes”), who were also leaders and great men. Yes, they too viewed the good and G-d fearing Jews as grasshoppers. They too were concerned about what the giants will say and do if we do that which we must do to conquer and maintain Jewish sovereignty over the land. The Aviners and the Alons refuse to realize that we do not stand alone and that the left are not Giants. Indeed the left would be completely bereft of power if not for our misplaced fear of them that empowers them and allows them to enlist us and other decent people to wage battle against ourselves and to neutralize the only ones left who would lead any effective resistance to their suicidal policies.

Guest Post: HaShem's Blessing And Moslem Jealousy, part 1

Machon Shilo

HASHEM’s Blessing and Moslem Jealousy

Rabbi David Bar-Hayim

3 of the Ninth Month 5771/10 November, 2010

“And Isaac sowed in that land, and harvested a hundredfold that year; and HASHEM blessed him. And the man waxed great, and continued to prosper, becoming very great indeed. For he possessed great flocks of sheep and goats, and great herds of cattle, and a great household; and the Philistines envied him. And all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines sealed up and filled with earth.” (B’reshith-Genesis 26:12-15)

HaRav Shimshon R’phael Hirsch z’l notes that we would expect to read here “wayqanu bo” (the normal usage with the verb “to be jealous”), i.e. envy of his possessions. What we find, however, is “wayqanu otho” – “and they envied him”, the man. They envied him not on account of his wealth, explains Rav Hirsch; they felt themselves injured by the position and respect which he enjoyed. In Hebrew this is called Ssaruth ‘Ayin, ‘narrowness of eye’ – the inability to accept the success of another.

Still, ssaruth ‘ayin is one thing; a willingness to cause oneself harm in order to deny another the fruits of his success is quite another. That is not jealousy; that is an obsession.

The Philistines filled in the wells. Why not just steal the water? After all, “Stolen water tastes particularly good (Mishle-Proverbs 9:17). You only fill in a well – at the cost of denying yourself the life-giving water – if your true purpose is to ensure that its rightful owner be unable to enjoy his success.

The common and oft-repeated “wisdom” is that if Israel were to hand over large tracts of the Land of Israel that it presently controls and allow a Palestinian state to be established therein, peace would break out in the Middle East, and Moslem hostility towards the West would end.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The reason the Moslem world cannot abide the West generally, and Israel particularly, is jealousy. Jealousy – and something else: Moslems cannot understand why non-believers are so materially successful, while Moslems world wide wallow in squalour.

HASHEM, the God of Israel, is the God of Morality, Love, Reason and Wisdom. As such, His people have understood that if they do not live up to HASHEM’s expectations of them, they will have to learn the hard way – this is a central tenet of the Tora. Klal Yisrael, the historical-covenantal Jewish Nation, has been taught to learn from its mistakes, repent and look forward to the future. Klal Yisrael has infinite patience, and believes, indeed knows, that even when reality falls short of expectations there is hope. They know that History belongs to God, that there is a Plan, and that Klal Yisrael transcends the here and now.

Allah, the Moslem god, is the god of material success and victory. Moslems are called to prayer with the words: “I bear witness that Muhammad is the prophet of God. Come to prayer, Come to prayer, Come to success, Come to success.” Moslems are supposed to enjoy great rewards and initially they did, exploding out of the sands of Arabia and conquering an immense swath of territory from the borders of China in the east to Spain in the west. Conquest, victory and tangible benefits formed the foundational ethos of Islam. Failure is unthinkable, humiliation unendurable.

Moslems live only in the here and now. Islam has been in decline for a millenium, and Moslems know it. That the Ummah, the Moslem Nation, should be backward and failing is incomprehensible.

As long as Eress Yisrael was a land of swamps and desolation, a backwater of the disintegrating Ottoman empire, the agglomerate of Arabs (Egyptians, Iraqis, Syrians, Lebanese) who subsisted in the Jewish homeland never felt the need for much of anything, least of all independence. Not a single Moslem on the planet saw the Turks as invaders or usurpers. After all, they were Moslems, and that’s what Moslems are supposed to do.

But now it’s controlled by non-Moslems, kafirs. So what if they are the true sons and daughters of the Land? Worse still, with their labour and intellect, they strived and succeeded where Moslems had only failed.

How appropriate that these mongrel Moslems now became Palestinians (from the Roman Palestina, which in turn stems from the Biblical P’lesheth, the land of the Philistines). There is no Palestinian language or culture or history; there is no justification for a Palestinian state. But that’s not the point, is it? The Jews, and the West, cannot be allowed to succeed, thus showing up the Ummah for what it is.

So you strap on your explosive vest, catch a bus, and blow up some Jews. And burn down an forest in the land you claim is yours. And set fire to your own oil wells. And fly a plane or two into the WTC. Anything but turn your gaze inward and discover the truth about yourself.

To be continued….

Response To Hertz's "No Occupied Territories"

26 of the Eighth Month 5771

My response to Eli E. Hertz's piece follows the snippet. Eli E. Hertz is the president of Myths and Facts.

No Occupied Territories
Eli E. Hertz, 25 Marheshwan 5771/November 2, 2010

A UN coalition sought to rewrite history by labeling the Territories 'Occupied Territories,' thus endowing them with an aura of bogus statehood and a false history. See the rest of the story below.

A UN coalition sought to rewrite history by labeling the Territories 'Occupied Territories,' thus endowing them with an aura of bogus statehood and a false history. They used capital letters for 'Occupied Territories' and then shifted to 'Palestinian Occupied

No legal binding authority has empowered any UN organ, including the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to decide that the territories of the West Bank, known as Judea and Samaria, and Gaza could be transformed into 'Occupied Palestinian Territories' or 'Palestine.' (Read more...)

Dear Eli,

Although you are quite correct to criticize the United Nations, point out the historical use of the word "Palestine," and to point the various distortions of Middle East history being sold as truth, I certainly hope that you did not mean to imply that there aren't any occupied territories in Yehduah & Shomron (Judea & Samaria).

There most certainly are.

Most of the Jewish lands of Yehudah & Shomron are currently under Arab occupation.

Arabs in control of Shchem, which they call Nablus, a bastardization of the Roman "Napolis." There are in control of most all of Hevron, Jericho, Beth Lehem, and Azza, to name a few.

If anyone doubts the gift of the Land of Israel to the People of Israel by the Holy One, Blessed Be He, and our need to fight for this gift, then here is a little background information for your readers, regarding the "territories" in question.

In other words, there is no question; they're ours....

Rabbi Yudan says there are three places the nations of the world cannot defraud Israel, saying they are robbers, and these are the Cave of the Patriarchs, the Holy Temple [Mount], and Joseph's Tomb.

About the Cave of the Patriarchs it is written, "And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant." (Gen. 23:16)

About the Holy Temple it is written, "So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight." (I Chronicles 21:25)

About Joseph's Tomb it is written, "And he bought the parcel of ground, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for a hundred pieces of money." (Gen. 33:19)
