למה עוצמה יהודית ונועם לא מתחתנים בסוף? / Why aren't Otzmah Yehudit and Noam Getting Married?

הבלוגרית תומר דבורה כותבת (באנגלית) על השיתוף האפשרי בין עוצמה יהודית והמפלגה החדשה נועם של הרב צבי טאו שליט"א. אני רוצה להוסיף כמה פרטים לעניין.

הרב טאו ידוע כרב ממלכתי מאוד (נאמן למדינה ב-100%). הרב טאו למד אצל הרב עמיטל של תנועת מימד - הסיעתה הדתית של מפלגת העבודה, אז ההשקפה הממלכתית שלו לא מפתיעה.

הסיפור של היציאה של הרב טאו מישיבת מרכב הרב קוק והקמת ישיבת הר המור לאחר מכן הוא קצת יותר מורכב  מהמחלוקת לגבי הכשרת מורים בישיבה. אבל, אני לא אפרט על זה כאן ועכשיו.

אפשר להסביר את ההבדל בין ההשקפות של מרכז הרב קוק וישיבת הר המור דרך פרשת גירוש היהודים מעזה (גוש קטיף) וצפון השומרון (תשס"ה/2005). ראש מרכז הרב אברהם שפירא זצ"ל, שעלה לתפקיד מעל הרב טאו, אמר לתלמידי ישיביה לצאת להפגין נגד הגירוש.  הוא גם אמר חיילי צה"ל לסרב פקודות צבאיות הנוגדות את התורה, ולהתגאות לשבת בכלא למענה. אבל, הרב טאו התנגד מאוד לסירוב פקודות צה"ל.

ולכן ההתנגדות של הרב טאו לשירות חיילים וחיילות ביחד ביחידות קרביות בצה"ל מאוד משמעותית. למעשה הרב טאו מכיר שהמדינה לא מושלמת בכלל. ואפילו אולי אנחנו כבר לא צריכים להיות "סבלניים" עם כל המנהיגים החילוניים בממשלת ישראל.

יש סיפור שרבנו צבי יהודה הכהן קוק זצ״ל ,שהיה ראש ישיבת מרכז הרב בזמן שהרב מאיר כהנה הי״ד היה מעודלכנסת, חתם על מכתב שבו כתוב שיהיה טוב אם הרב כהנא יהיה בכנסת. תלמידי הממלכתיים בישיבה טענו כי הרב צבי יהודה התחיל להיות סנילי, ולכן הם לא התיחסו חתימתו על מכתב זה כמשהו אמיתי. אני קיבלתי עדות ראיה שהרב משה קפלן אכן הביא מכתב כזה לרבנו צבי יהודה. הרב קרא אותו וחתם עליו. אבל עדות הראיה קובעת באופן חד משמעי כי הרב צבי יהודה שמר על אחזקת כל הפקולטות שלו עד שבועיים לפני מותו.

אתמול נראה שאחד מגדולי החכמים, ממחנה ממלכתי, מוכן להצטרף לתלמידיו של הרב כהנא, לאחר שנים שלא הסכימו עם חלק ניכר מגישתו.

עם זאת, יש סיפור אחר, שעדיין לא אישרתי את האמיתיות שלו עם שני הצדדים המעורבים, שתלמיד בישיבה הגיע לרב טאו כדי להתיעץ איתו לגבי הארוסין האפשרי שלו. אמרו לי שהרב טאו אמר לתלמיד זה שהאב של הבחורה שהתלמיד מתעניין בה הוא חכם בתורה, אז מה השאלה? לאחר מכן בחור הזה התחתן עם הבחורה המדוברת, היא אחת הבנות של הרב כהנא.

אתמול הרב טאו נראה פתוח לעוד חתונה אפשרית בין התלמידים שלו למשפחה של הרב כהנא. אבל מפלגת עוצמה יהודית פתוחה למועמד חילוני ברשימה שלהם. ויש גבול לפתיחות של הרב טאו. ואישית אני מבין אותו 100%.

Tomer Devorah explores the agreement between Otzmah Yehudit and Rabbi Tau's nascent Noam Party. She makes some very good and important points. However, I would like to expand upon them.

Otzmah Yehudit Party

Rabbi Tau has always been very mamlakhti (diehard state loyalist). Having learned with Rabbi Amital, who was eventually involved with the Meimad (religious faction of the Labor Party), this should come as no surprise.

The story of Rabbi Tau's exit from the Merkav HaRav Yeshiva and subsequent establishment of the Har HaMor Yeshiva is a bit more complicated than the historical disagreement regarding how to qualify teachers. But, I will not elaborate on this here.

The main difference between Har HaMor and Merkav HaRav is that the Merkaz HaRav students were told to go out an protest the impending expulsion from Gaza (2005). The Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Shapira ztz"l (who ascended to the position over Rabbi Tau) told IDF soliders not only to refuse orders which violate the Torah, and not only to sit in jail for it, but also to be proud that they were sitting in jail because of this; whereas Rabbi Tau was very much against refusal of IDF orders.

The significance of Rabbi Tau's displeasure, to say the least with the IDF's co-ed units policy, ... He is actually acknowledging in a very grand way that the State is not perfect, and perhaps we no longer have to be "patient" with the non-religious Jews running the State, after all.

There is a story  that Rabbenu Tzvi Yehudah signed a letter saying (paraphrase) that it would be good that Rabbi Meir Kahane would be in the Knesset. The mamalakhti students claimed that Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda was starting to become senile, and so brushed off his signature on this letter. The eye witness testimony I received states that Rabbi Moshe Kaplan indeed brought such a letter to Rabbenu Tzvi Yehudah. The Rabbi read it, and signed it. But, this eye witness also states unequivocally that Rabbi Tzvi Yehudah maintained possession of all of his faculties until two weeks before his death.

Yesterday, it seemed that one of the greatest scholars, of the mamlakhti camp, is willing to join with students of Rabbi Kahane, after years of disagreeing with much of his approach.

Yet, there is another story, which I have yet to confirm with any of the parties involved, that a young yeshiva student came to Rabbi Tau to seek counsel regarding his impending engagement. Rabbi Tau reportedly told this student that the woman's father was a hacham (Torah scholar), so what was the question? Soon after, that yeshiva student married the young lady in question, one of Rabbi Kahane's daughters.

This time around, Rabbi Tau is not so interested in a marriage between his students and those of Rabbi Kahane. Apparently, Otzmah Yehudit is open to including a secular candidate; whereas Noam is not. And, personally, I completely understand.
