Yehuda HaKohen of the Zionist Freedom Alliance (and Israel National Radio) sent out an article from The Jewish Press (which lately I have been calling the non-Jewish Press), praising the participation of Yisrael Eldad, the Leh"i and Irgun during Israel's War of Independence.
Israel's Founding RevisitedYou will not get any arguments here.
Elliot Resnick, Yom Ha'Atzma'uth 5769
...In The First Tithe, Israel Eldad, who ran the underground Lehi movement (sometimes known as the Stern Group) together with future Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Shamir and Nathan Yellin-Mor, argues that the British would never have left Palestine in 1948 had the Irgun (headed by Menachem Begin) and Lehi not forced them out. He also defends his group's deadly terrorist tactics and unique Zionist vision, which included the building of the Third Temple....
But, let us see what he has to say in response to the reply I sent him...
1. Why does the mamlakhti (undying state loyalist) camp of the religious Zionists like to call Rabbi Meir Kahane, and those associated with him "extremist?"I'm not holding my breath.
2. Why are yeshivas like Har HaMor and B'nei David living in the fantasy that everyday is 6 b'Iyyar 5708?
3. What's stopping us from using the same strategies now? Fear and lack of emunah (faith)?
