Arutz 7: EU Unlikely to Brand Hizbullah a Terrorist OrganizationWe already know that British and French Jews are in danger in they stay in their current countries of residence. I, personally, do not recall hearing too much the Italian Jewish community in recent news, except for the Roman Jewish community's welcome of the Pope at one of its synagogues. But, that's another story for another time. (You read all about it at The Torah Revolution.)
EU is unlikely to bow to U.S. pressure to brand Hizbullah a terrorist organization, despite the group being guilty of the Burgas attack.
Elad Benari, February 7, 2013
The European Union is unlikely to bow to U.S. pressure to brand Hizbullah a terrorist organization in the wake of EU member Bulgaria blaming the terror group for an attack that killed five Israeli tourists, diplomats said Wednesday.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday urged the EU to follow Washington's lead by designating Hizbullah as terrorists in a move that will notably lead to a crackdown on its fund-raising activities.
AFP reported that Britain is among EU member states in favor, but with key countries like France and Italy reluctant to countenance such a move, there is little prospect of achieving the consensus required for a change of policy in the 27-member EU. (cont.)
YNET: Hezbollah official: Israel inciting against usSo, either MEP's are afraid of Arab repercussions, either through financial and/or violent means, or they really believe this crap, or both.
Terrorist group's second in command Naim Qassem says Israel trying to divert world's attention from occupation by turning to scare tactics
Roi Kais, February 6, 2013
After a Bulgarian probe determined that Hezbollah was behind the Burgas attack, the organization's second in command Naim Qassem said on Wednesday that "Israel is running an international campaign against the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance."
Qassem said that Israel wishes to divert international attention from "Israeli aggression and the occupation, so the world will not see the real problem is Israel."(cont.)
Probably both.
